Saw this on Free Republic. It outlines a future scenario in which the United States splits up into two countries: Red America and Blue America.
That's the way that people vote, but it isn't an organizational practicality.
If Red America wanted to secede, it would be a different matter. The Red areas control the food. Blue areas are in the cities. The cities aren't viable without the Red areas which support them.
In fact, Blue America would be indefensible. It isn't a serious idea at all. Besides, why would Blue America secede? They pretty much run things anyway. The Red states could stop that if they chose, but they don't.
The question should be is will the Red States decide to depart? However, the Red States should think twice about that. The high tech regions are still in California, which is a Blue state. Red states could survive, but that's about it.
It's a dumb idea.
