Julie Kelly in the War room

 Steve Bannon interviews Julie Kelly.

Hoo, boy! The Republic is in dire straits. I've read about the missing videos of testimony during the Star Chamber, aka House Select Committee that tried to ramrod an insurrection narrative down our throats. Kelly says that Jack Smith lifted all his J6th work off of that "report" which has all the missing testimony. If that isn't corrupt, what the hell is???

One can get distressed reading and watching all this bad news. The worst part of it is the entire lack of action coming from the GOP controlled House, which could have uncovered a lot of this, but refuses to do anything about it really.

All of this is going to have to depend upon the citizenry to sort out the fraud, and the public isn't really interested. If the economy looks good enough, they'll rubber stamp all of this fraud, and nothing will get accomplished. It may be a tough road even if the public got involved more aggressively. People just don't give a damn. It's a damned shame.

SCOTUS to make ruling on Colorado disqualification of Trump based on 14th Amendment

This was said to be fast for the court. However, it's going to run into the primary season. Arguments are set for February 8th. Could it not be expedited considering the stakes involved?

SpaceX Starship Update, 1/5/24

Felix at WhatAboutIt does the honors---- "SpaceX Starship performs Static Fire frenzy of both Ship 28 and Booster 10 at Starbase! ", and more...

"Saving our Democracy" by eliminating opposition?

It's really easy to rule into perpetuity if you can disqualify and censor all opposition. This should be rejected with extreme prejudice. Alas, there's doubt that this may happen in the Supreme Court, which in turn, will open up a can of worms.

TechnoFog's Epstein thread

This is generally not of much interest to me, except for one thing. It shows the censorship at work, which suppresses any kind of news which makes the Establishment look bad. Keep in mind that Trump was censored too, which should have been a big red flag back in 2020. But this stuff continues, and the public remains in the dark about these kinds of stories. It MIGHT make a difference, you know. Otherwise, why hide it?

As for Clinton looking bad, none of this should be news to anybody who has ever paid any attention to the dude.

Zero Hedge: "Inside the catastrophic jobs report"

Fewer full time jobs, more part time jobs. The article says that most jobs filled are from foreign born job applicants. Not likely to be very popular with the public, as this administration is opening the flood gates for illegal immigration.

Against the possibility of being labeled "non-factual", I did check out the BLS data, and at least some of this checks out. For example, full time workers really did crash month to month as Zero Hedge says.

Zero Hedge's article did not mention it much, but most of these jobs that were created were government jobs, or government related. My own impression is that the huge budget deficits are funding most of the so-called job growth. Zero Hedge did mention media bias, and that does appear to be the case with this story.

An examination of Ground News and their ratings for factuality and bias, fails to show a mention of this article. It may be there, but there are dozens of articles, and those I've reviewed do not mention Zero Hedge. In my opinion, Ground News is not what it claims to be. Ground News claims to show every side of the story, but where's this side? This story is an example of why I think that they do not live up to that billing.

Powerline: "Europe's “Hard Right” Uprising"

What does the term "hard right" mean? Can there be a Goldilocks version of rightness, with too hard, too soft, and just right?

Actually, that's kinda funny. "Just right" sort of right. Not too hard, and not too soft... Just right.

An attempt to contact the three bears resulted in no comment.

The fruits of gaslighting

1/4/24: Update of 12/29/23 post:

The left's reaction to the resignation of Dr Gay of Harvard shows the moral bankruptcy of the left. She could not even condemn Hamas. She is accused of plagiarism, but does she get held accountable for that? No, it is blamed on racism.

Let's get this straight. Race is more important than integrity. Also, any tactic to fight Israel is okay with them, including the slaughter of babies, and the kidnapping of non-combatants. Are there any standards left with these people? For anybody who values integrity, and for anybody who supports the Geneva Convention to which civilized states must adhere to, this SHOULD be a wake up call. If that is what you support, then what should the rest of us expect from you from henceforth?

The left has a severe credibility problem, but they seem blind to it. Or do they believe their own propaganda?

If this assertion of mine is wrong, then where is the condemnation of Hamas, and why complain about the Harvard situation with Dr. Gay? At the very least, these people should be concerned about how this appears, even if they don't give a damn otherwise. Not only do they appear morally bankrupt, they also appear to be quite stupid.

But that doesn't even compare with the stupidity of actually letting these people carry on the way the do. For this, the Democrats need to reassess what they are about. If they are with terrorists and have abandoned the very idea of integrity, then the rest of us should take notes. There's too much at stake to let this slide.

12/29/23: Update of 12/16/23 post:

Biden is protecting these people. But evidently, the American people aren't worthy of protection. This place just so happens to be where 3000 Americans were murdered on 9-11-2001. Did I not say that in the eyes of the terrorists, America equals Israel? Here it is in bold relief. Yet, there are some who will defend this, even after what happened in Israel recently, and what happened on the very spot this event took place.

12/16/23: Update of 11/30/23 post:

Here is a poll that could shock you. But the trouble with polls is that they aren't exactly correct in reflecting public opinion, but rather, are being used to shape public opinion.

This poll may seem rather disheartening. Perhaps that is the intent. Not to put one's head in the sand, but 79% of these people say that? White people are pretty close to 50%, according to the latest stories. It may be more than that. So, for this poll to be correct, a lot of these people need to be talking about themselves. It doesn't seem likely.

Yet it could. A bit of caution is in order before taking this too seriously. One, a lot of students change their minds once they are provided with additional information.

I'd take this poll with a grain of salt, but it should be a big warning. The anti-American attitudes seem to be out of control. The gaslighting reinforces that trend.

end update:

the original post follows below:

A short blurb here about the gaslighting thing. There was something that went down in Oakland city council or whatever they do there to govern. A Jewish person wanted to do something and ran into what you'd call a difficulty, and ended up being called a racist for his troubles.

There was an accusation that the Jewish people staged the murder of 1400 of their own people. Yeah, right. There was a terrorist attack yesterday in Israel and Hamas took credit for it. So much for the credibility of that accusation. The racist namecalling is part of the gaslighting, I suspect.

Real convenient for them to blame the victims for killing their own people and then blaming for their own alleged racism for complaining about it. It would be real easy for them to conquer if they could get you to just lie down and die quietly.

I think the namecalling is part of the gaslighting. Giving in to them with this ceasefire was a mistake. We have an administration that is gaslighting the country and protecting terroists and their sympathizers. Thought somebody out there might be interested. But who knows?

Let's say this "imaginary" attack in Israel had killed babies. What would be the possible reason to kill a baby? A baby can be raised to be anybody the terrorists would want. Including a twisted fuck like themselves. So why kill the baby? Killing babies is the very epitome of racism because a baby cannot possibly be anything but what is in their heredity. A baby could be trained to be whatever the person raising them wants to be. Isn't racism a hatred for those who are different? So how do these people have any credibility on racism or anything else for that matter? Know what I mean Vern?

The terrorists and their sympathizers have no credibility at all. The gaslighting shouldn't work, but it seems to me that it does. Instead of a ceasefire, Israel should ramp up the aggressiveness. Instead, they are toning it down. Big mistake. But that's my opinion.

Update a while later:

The ADL and Elon Musk are about to tangle. So, I watched the video below, and a phrase stuck out. The ADL is into ethnic Jewishness, not the religious kind. Verry eenterestink! ( laugh-in reference there). Er, what does the ADL think about killing babies? Or did the Jews whack their own just to start a war with Hamas? The ADL has a credibility problem here. Or you'd think.

Who's winning, the left, or the so-called right?

Does it matter, if the premises are wrong? Anyway, it's a question worth pondering.

Joel Kotkin: Why the right is eating the left's lunch.

Progressives have abandoned the working class and embraced the oligarchs.

Comment:

The shortest possible comment that I'd offer here is this: The left is dishonest. It always was, and always will be. The premises are wrong because the piece does not focus on that. I would say that it isn't about left versus right, but right versus wrong.

For example, there is no climate crisis. To say that doesn't not deny science. So-called "climate science" isn't a science at all. It is a political movement. To cite AGW as scientific is actually anti-science. There is no scientific merit to AGW at all.

What is science, but the seeking of truth? There's no truth to AGW. If there was, it wouldn't be so easy to debunk. A little thought and observation can determine the falsity of it. Anyone can do it. There is no need for an institution to do one's thinking for you. You don't have to rely upon some alleged authority to tell you what to think. Just think for yourself. Think of it as training your mind, as in the movie "The Paper Chase".

The answers aren't going to come from a political process. That's because the argument in political circles is not about truth, but about gaining an advantage over one's opponents. Consequently, it the so-called right is just seeking an advantage, then it isn't really different than the left. For that is all the left seeks, an advantage.

I don't follow the left v right paradigm. It is a Marxist construct, and the following of it only furthers the Marxist objectives, which are political. It isn't about truth. To defeat Marxism, seek the truth. You can tell the validity of that when the Marxists seek to limit the discussion with their censorship drives. Marxism is about lies. If the so-called right is to win anything at all, it must defend the truth. Consequently, it is about right versus wrong, with the truth always being on the side that is right.

2023 was not a good year for privacy

Rob Braxman video.

Comment: Once again, this guy is providing a first class service to warn against the moves of the surveillance state. Once again, it doesn't seem to matter much, because the usual refrain is : "I have nothing to hide." But you don't have to do anything illegal, immoral, nor fattening in order for this to be a problem. The fact is that it is AGAINST THE LAW. The government does not have the right to surveill people according to their whim. At least, that is true in the USA, or shall I say, it used to be true in the USA.

A tweet from Bill Ackman, CEO of Pershing Square

Quote:

As a result, according to DEI, capitalism is racist, Advanced Placement exams are racist, IQ tests are racist, corporations are racist, or in other words, any merit-based program, system, or organization which has or generates outcomes for different races that are at variance with the proportion these different races represent in the population at large is by definition racist under DEI’s ideology.

Comment: This is an example of communism. But it comes in a different disguise. The object is to slip communism through the back door under the disguise of decency for an indecent outcome. As they say, read it all.

Elise Stefanik as Bond Supervillain? Really?

Interesting thread on Twitter. Also on Instapundit, which is where I first found it.

Fascinating is the word for where our culture is today. One cannot take for granted what we have, or how long we will be able to keep it. Keep what? As Ben Franklin once said--- A Republic, if you can keep it.

The Democrat Star Chamber, aka "Select Committee", destroys evidence of its malfeasance

This is what you call "consciousness of guilt". If they didn't do anything wrong, why destroy the evidence? If they did exactly the right thing, wouldn't they want the whole world to know?

The so-called "Select Committee" was phony as hell. Yet, bad actors, such as Raskin, want to intimidate the Supreme Court in running yet another Star Chamber against Trump. What could be more clear?

Will SCOTUS defend the CONUS, or will they wimp out?

1/2/24: Update to yesterday's post:

Who is Jamie Raskin, and what kind of people elect him? Here's what Wikipedia had to say about Raskin.

He is a representative in suburban Washington DC, from what I gathered. Washington DC is heavily Democratic, with over 90% of the votes going to Democrats. Even during Ronald Reagan's 49 state landslide in 1984, Washington DC went with the Democrats.

He seems to have come from the so-called "elite" brand. This so-called elite brand seems fixated on what could be called victimology. What is that? According to this type of thinking, there are oppressors and the oppressed. Obviously, he connects to those that he considers victims.

In a period of US History that encompossed such injustices as slavery and Jim Crow, this was not such a bad thing. But the pendulum has swung so wildly that these people are becoming the new oppressors themselves. Ronald Reagan called the Soviet Union the "evil empire". That's because the communists are a group of people that do not share the Judeo-Christian ethical system. Indeed, the communists persecute people of faith. It would seem that these people are pursuing the notion that this Judeo-Christian ethic is oppressive. If so, to whom? The communists themselves?

A study of history would disprove the claim of Christian oppression. People of faith led the fight against slavery. People of faith are the conscience of the nation, which is what the communists are so bereft of. Why should anyone trust such people as communists, who have no moral sense whatsoever, and whose basic motivation is to maximize their own power over the people that they rule with an iron fist? What could be more clear that these people have crossed a line, and have become what we used to think of as an enemy--totalitarian communism.

To put it shortly, Washington DC is completely out of control. A small group of people want to rule over a nation, if not the entire world itself. They claim to be democratic, but they are in fact no different than any tyrant that has ever gotten control over a civilization. They do not bring democracy, indeed they are indifferent to it at best, and hostile to it at worst.

end update, the original post follows below:

Raskin is attempting to intimidate the court. He has demanded that Judge Thomas recuse himself. I think the court had better be a lot firmer than what they've been so far.

Julie Kelly's Commentary:

Wall Street Silver: "When was the last time we had states that were removing presidential candidates from the ballot?"

A quotation attributed to Mark Twain went something like this: "History doesn't repeat, but it often rhymes."

Another bit of wisdom: Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Happy New Year's tweet from actor James Woods

Harvard's Pride? David Hogg's SAT score is subpar as per their own standards

Actually, his SAT scores are not that bad, but Harvard is supposed to have HIGH standards. But his score was considerably lower than that. Maybe he has a Pocahontas type situation going.

Actually, Hogg's SAT is better than mine was. Yours truly actually considered Rice University, which is considered the Ivy League of the South. My high screwel counselor said "go for it". The point being that standards aren't usually what they're cracked up to be. A friend of mine's girlfriend went to Rice. She was a National Merit Scholar. I wonder if all that really means anything, or as much as is claimed for it. Never heard from her again.

Some of the more successful people out there didn't even graduate from college. What does it all mean, really? I wouldn't underestimate Hogg. But I wouldn't overestimate him either.

TYRANNY: Unelected Democrat Activist Removes President Trump from Maine Primary Ballot

Dated on December 29th, so it is a bit stale as far as news is concerned. The reason for its inclusion here is that this individual is UNELECTED. However, the story about how many Texas House members are not facing primary challengers suggests that the public isn't really paying attention.

This gives a lot of wiggle room for this kind of mischief, in my opinion. Pay attention, out there...

According to Ground News, this story is a "right-wing" blindspot

Summary

Negotiators from Qatar have informed Israeli government officials that Hamas “agrees in principle” to terms for a second hostage swap and ceasefire, Israeli media reported late Friday.

Comment:

I used an embed to show the page, but what can you see here without clicking on it? Hence, the summary, which was lifted from the article, and pasted here. At least you can now see something about what the story is about.

Further observation reveals the high esteem for "factuality" that Ground News has for the sources. However, if it is a "right wing" wing site, the "factuality" generally is rated lower. Consequently, Ground News itself is probably at least a little bit biased towards the left, in my opinion.

Note: One final remark: Qatar is said to be influenced heavily by the Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood was responsible for the assassination of Anwar Sadat. Sadat negotiated a peace between Egypt and Israel back during the Carter Administration.

No Competition: More than 20% of Texas House members running unopposed in 2024

The majority of those running unopposed, 30, are Democrats; four are Republicans. There are 150 seats in the State House of Representatives up for re-election.

It appears to be a partisan phenomenon. Heavily Democratic or Republican districts do not tend have competition. It is likely to be pointless for a Republican to run in a heavily Democratic district, or vice versa. But you'd think that incumbents would at least face some primary challenges.

So there must be a type of inertia involved. It is easier to go on doing things the same old way, as opposed to the public looking critically at what incumbents are doing and holding them accountable. No word about approval polls for the House. Maybe nobody really gives a rat's rear end what these politicians do.

It doesn't have a good look to it.

The Rise Of Propaganda-Dependent Elites And Lonely Masses

Linked thru News Buffet and Zero Hedge... Note: No commentary came through on the tweet(@ X, aka "Twitter") except "well done". Anybody seeing this would not know to what it was referring. At least the title is given here on this post. The title is sufficient. If you are not curious-minded, perhaps it won't matter anyway.
