Cheney Keeps Post In House Leadership, Still Faces Challenges At Home

Cheney Keeps Post In House Leadership, Still Faces Challenges At Home: Wyoming Republican Rep. Liz Cheney held onto her post in House leadership Wednesday night, but still faces big problems back home with voters.

Comment:

More evidence of a problem with the GOP.  Why is it that somebody who polled at only TEN PERCENT amongst her own constituents somehow keeps her leadership position in the House?

The GOP is hopeless.  Time to cut the ties to this useless collection of phonies.

Everyone misses the point

The whole point of Trump

The one thing that separated Trump from the rest of the GOP is that the guy would fight back. The GOP's complaint about Trump was that he did that very thing.

So now the GOP has to defend Trump against charges the Democrats are making, and the last thing that they probably want to do is to defend him.

There you have it in a nutshell. It's the reason Trump won, and the reason why they hate him. He fought back. This is not allowed, according to those who are supposedly our betters. The same is true in BOTH parties. But the GOP really resents to have to defend the guy who is the leader of the party. Sheesh.

Do we have a two-party system, or a one party system that masquerades as a two-party system? ( this is what is called a rhetorical question )

You don't have to analyze it past that. Any attempt to do so just obfuscates the point.

SN8 v SN9

Comparison between SN8 and SN9

Both crashed, so what was the thing that was different in comparing the two? To do this required a closer look at the SN8 video. I looked at SN9 yesterday. As for SN8, the SN8's other engine DID light up. However, it went out just before the crash.

The idea is to shut the second engine down anyway, so it appears that it may have shut down too soon. But the SN9 in comparsion, did not light up at all. They both came down too hot, which indicates not enough thrust being applied to slow down the descent.

Whatever they did to correct, it certainly didn't work.

Sn9 crash pics

Pic analysis

Here's a few pics which may be useful in understanding what happened with the SpaceX's Starship proto-type test done yesterday.

The first is at 3 minutes and 7 secs into the YouTube video referenced in this post. It shows one engine lit up, but another one is supposed to be. Closer examination shows that the other engines appears to be lighting up, but failing.

The second is just before impact at 3 min and 9 secs. I heard no explosion here at this point.

However in the next pic, there's an explosion heard, but that is BEFORE the Starship hit the ground. The explanation for that one cannot be determined from looking at this video. At least not by me.

The Starship is a little off vertical before it hit.

Spacex news

Spacex's SN9 fails landing test again

This one looked a lot like the last attempt. Whatever they tried didn't seem to work. The flight from beginning to end looked just like the failed SN8 test. It looked great until the end, when it came in too hot and blew up on landing.

A bit of a disappointment, there.

Random thoughts

Random thoughts

There was supposed to be a big deal in the markets today, and silver was up a bit. However, it wasn't THAT big of a deal. I wonder if hype is endemic these days. Nothing seems to get said anymore unless it accompanied by a huge amount of hype.

Another thing in the webs: There was something on the web about the upcoming "trial" of Trump. Some never-Trumper seems worried that Trump may do something to hurt the GOP. This is another head-scratcher. Trump has been loyal to a fault to the GOP, and what has he gotten in return? More accusations of something that he is very unlikely to do? I would be more worried about the opposite thing happening.

Moving on to the next thought: Bongino is a bit too easy on the pubbies. I suppose it is because he doesn't want to get too negative. But I don't think I want to listen to him as much when he goes on his optimismic dreams about the future and this so-called party known as the GOP. If the GOP is good at anything, it is disappointing somebody who believes there anything worthwhile about them.

They're only helping them disappoint us again when they support these guys. If there is any bunch of people who need to suffer politically right now, it is these guys. But Bongino types must love the punishment they get from the GOP. I think I've seen enough, but stuff happens that are a warning sign that we haven't seen the worse from them even yet.

I'll close this small piece with a bolo-- be on the lookout. If there is anything that is going to happen in the near future with respect to the GOP, it won't be worth cheering about, but the opposite.
