What should happen after Mueller's testimony

Comment:

Bongino says don't beat up on Mueller.  Instead, think strategically.  By that, he means to go after Mueller is to fail to keep the focus on what matters most.  What matters most is that the investigation was horrible.

The video is joined at somewhere after 26 minutes.  The portion following that is what I consider to be the most important part of this video, hence the embedding begins at that point.

Card stacking is propaganda

Comment:

... as is name-calling, such as using the name "racist" for everything to soup to nuts.  This was once upon a time, frowned upon in America.

This was taught back in school back in the old days of the Cold War.  These days, the kids wouldn't know propaganda even it bit them on the backside and said: "we're propaganda, comrade".

Unfair?  Perhaps.  The sticky issue here is that our society is based on trust.  The criminal element preys upon trust and turns it against their targets.  The consequence of this is a society that can no longer function properly because trust breaks down due to the crime.  It isn't the kid's fault.  If they aren't taught, how will they be able to recognize it when it rears its ugly head?

The Gangster Party

Comment:

5:22 pm:

Note how it is only the GOP who recuse themselves.

Nadler is going to press forward with impeachment despite the Mueller fiasco.  All for the claimed goal of rule of law.

Daily Update:

7:06 pm:

An embarrassment for anybody with any integrity.   A feather in the cap for a committed fraud.

GOP forgot to ask about Crowdstrike's claim of hacked emails

Comment:

Saying that they "forgot" may be generous to them.  It can make a person suspicious of the whole kit and kaboodle of them, as well as a lot of pundits.

Maybe I ought to mention that I forgot as well.  Here I am, praising the GOP for the good job they did, but they failed to do this.

Not going to happen?

Cry me a river

Robby Mook at the 2016 Dem convention

Comment:

I have to confess that I don't get the point of this tweet.  It may have something to do with the timeline of events.  Maybe it was before the FBI counter-intel operation known as "Crossfire Hurricane" began.  I'd have to look that up.

But there's more.  It is an eight-minute video.  In it, Mook talks about the economy as if it needed improvement.  Wait a minute!  This was in 2016 and still, this was said during the Obama Administration; but now they say that Trump was supposed to have inherited a great economy.  Interesting that Mook didn't refute the need to improve the economy.   Trump's performance has indeed improved the economy, yet Mook offered nothing more than what had been offered for the previous eight years.

"Bombshells" all around, but all's quiet on the impeachment front

Comment:

Sic 'em boy, sic 'em.

Could have been better.

Comment:

Bongino does a very good job, as the link indicates.  With respect to how the GOP did, Bongino thinks they did a very good job shredding Mueller.  With all due respect, I think it could have been better.  If the GOP reps ceded time back to the Democrats, then they screwed up, IMO.  Because there was more to be teased out of Mueller than what occurred.

Not saying that it was a failure of the GOP.  But you have got to burn this thing to the ground.  You've still got Nancy Pelosi out there asking what Putin has on Trump.  Pelosi actually said that, and she said that after discouraging impeachment since regaining the Speaker's gavel.  She cannot be allowed to say that and get away with saying that.  Which is why I say that a better job could have been done.

The Russian collusion FRAUD must be torched to the very ground.

Schiff happened, but mostly just a brain fart

Comment:

Even if you stipulate as true everything that Schiff and Mueller claims, they still had no crime.  So why was Mueller necessary?

Spin machine workin' hard

Comment:

The "cucks" and the "soyboys" are spinning the Mueller debacle faster than a spider convention.

For your edification, and in case you are unfamiliar, here's what a soyboy is.

Mueller time was a "fiasco"

Comment:

"Mueller changed his story."  ( 3 times he says?, or was it the third version?)

A fiasco?  I think it is a good thing if it leads to the right outcome in next year's election.  The wrong outcome, then yes, it was a fiasco for the country.

Naked and Afraid?

If not a KO, then what is this?

Comment:

Throwing in the towel?  Tribe is pretty liberal.

KO in the middle rounds?

Comment:

Mueller at a loss for words.  Cannot answer a question.  Rep. Ratcliffe of Texas gives him a stern lecture.

Trump's tweets bad for the country?

Comment:

What to make of this tweet from Rasmussen?

Most voters think that Trump's use of social media in order to jump over the Washington press corps is bad for the country, it says.  Why would that be?  Are the Washington press corps a bunch of sacred cows that cannot ever be questioned nor challenged?

My view, which may be in the minority, is that this is a good thing for the GOP.  Getting around the media is a good thing.  Reagan often did it with Oval Office addresses.  The media is partisan Democrat.  Why can't the President get his message out?  The media is hostile to the GOP, not just Trunp.  This has been true for as long as I can remember.

Indeed, it seems as though there are too many in the ranks of the GOP that have an excessive deference to the media.  Hopefully, Trump's use of Twitter can inspire the GOP to find ways to overcome media bias.  Media bias is what's bad for the country.

Political boxing match yields more heat than light

Left corner!

"AG Barr lied when he said that the OLC opinion did NOT impact decision."

Oh? It seems that they had a meeting before the report was released.  So, why isn't it the case that in this meeting, it was discussed, and that it was agreed that the OLC opinion was not a factor.  In other words, why isn't Mueller lying?

Is it now a case of who to believe--- Barr or Mueller?

You have to have a stronger case than this than to say Barr is lying.

In any case, exoneration is not an objective.  Conviction is.  If Mueller could have recommended impeachment and removal from office for obstruction, could he have included that in his report?

This is politics as usual.

and the right corner!

Clock running out

Comment:

Let's be realistic here.  The Mueller team has gotten another scalp as of yesterday.  Sydney Powell, who is now the legal representive for Admiral Flynn, says that the conviction won't hold up on appeal.  In other words, it is another faulty case brought by Mr. Mueller.

The point being that this is political.  If it achieves the political goal, then the legal goal was merely a stepping stone.  It leaves the accused with the problem, but the political march goes on the next step.  The political march is on the Trump Administration.  The legal process is being used as a political weapon, aka "lawfare".

The trial was held in Alexandria, which is near DC.  It is undoubtedly a strong point for liberalism, and therefore hostile to the defendant.  Contrariwise, it would be difficult to get a conviction in DC against one of their "faves".  This is a fact on the ground that cannot be underestimated.

What I am saying here is that the system is rigged in favor of Democrats.  The best that can be achieved here is a favorable political result.  That result would be if the Democrats LOSE BIG next year's elections.  The goal to "lock them up" will have to wait.  It may not occur at all if Trump loses.  That may be the point of the "lawfare".

Bubbles get bigger and bigger until they burst

Media bias is an old story

Comment:

We've known media bias for a very long time.  Question is:  "What do you do about it?"

Solomon: Mueller deputy Andrew Weissmann's plea offer to an oligarch...

Comment:

... is this "lawfare tactic" about to take on new significance in Washington DC?  Mueller testifies in Congress tomorrow.  The boomerangs could fly.

Who owns the "New York Times"?  hint: not an American

"Bizarre" may be the new "normal"

Comment:

This from people who preach to us about "Democracy" and "Rule of Law", but who honor neither.  You know what I mean, Vern?

Housekeeping 7.22.19

Been busy with this kind of activity lately.  It may explain the dearth of new material.

At this juncture, I may turn my attention to this blog.  The topic "housekeeping" refers to the principle at the general level.  Nothing much has changed on the blog.  But there may be a few things that will have a different look and feel going forward.

For instance, I am experimenting with fonts and colors.  Looking at the appearance of the blog may give me some ideas on improving its appearance.

Let's see some fonts and colors:

  • Mary had a little lambIt's fleece was white as snow.  Default
  • Mary had a little lamb.  It's fleece was white as snow.  Courier
  • Mary had a little lamb.  It's fleece was white as snow.  Georgia
  • Mary had a little lamb.  It's fleece was white as snow.  Helvetica
  • Mary had a little lamb.  It's fleece was white as snow.  Times
  • Mary had a little lamb.  It's fleece was white as snow.  Trebuchet
  • Mary had a little lamb.  It's fleece was white as snow.  Verdana

Nothing has been decided with respect to the fonts.  By the way, as of this writing, I did some rearranging.  It is largely self-explanatory.

It's called "summer"

Comment:

You'd think that the season called "summer" has never happened before.  If it gets cold, do they have to ask why to that too?

Nah!  It's just more self-serving clap-trap disguised as a serious issue.

Passive Eloi

Update:

7.21.19:

Yeah, but who's who?

Pointing fingers at the other guy may be satisfying, but does it solve the problem?

Well, it probably doesn"t do anything for the Morlocks.

1.7.12:

Get eaten by the Morlocks!

How deep does the rabbit hole go?

Comment:

It's "Alice in Wonderland" in America.  Everything is cockeyed and downright weirded out.  If this guy is the new normal, it may well explain a lot.  At least it seems to be a new normal amongst the liberal persuasion.

The country seems to be turning into the "bar scene in Star Wars".

Our emoluments are better than yours

Comment:

Sorry, but I couldn't resist the temptation.  I refuse to take the Democrats seriously at this point.  The Dems couldn't care a whit about the law, it is all politics all the time.
