Why did it explode?
Because it vented the oxygen, Musk says. Oh. It took two months to say that?
Also, he says that it would have made it to orbit if it had a payload. Okay. Then, there doesn't appear to be a need for a mishap investigation. I didn't think that there should have been much of one, since it was just seconds away from orbit anyway, and the Starship was going to go into the drink anyway. Same for the booster.
The government is just being dicks, which is what they do so well.

Moonbase idea?
Where's the beef? Not enough details provided in this article. It claims a moonbase could be made with Starships. However, going to the link only shows a drawing and a video. The video isn't even about the Starship, but a criticism of an existing plan that doesn't include Starship.
Did anybody even read the article, or watch the video?

Emerald Robinson: "It's 2024: Are We Going To Make It?"
Don't want to be a gloomy type, but the answer to the question is probably "no".
You can tell that because nothing is changing. It's going to be the same thing all over again. That would be true even if Trump wins. The GOP does NOTHING. There's no real opposition to this. If anything, the GOP helps the Democrats.
It's up to the people, but the people have other things to do besides paying attention. So nothing will get done.

An embarrassment indeed
As Joe Biden bloviates about crack cocaine laws, there's a video showing his son Hunter using crack cocaine. This kind of thing really is an embarrassment on more than one level. From what I've read, it's costing Biden the black vote.
Biden is an obvious liar. He was booted from the Democrat primaries in 1988 for getting caught plagiarizing. Not that his supporters care about such things.

1. Donald Trump said on January 6 to 'remain peaceful' and 'go home' within hours of the riots
2. Donald Trump said within hours of the 2020 election certification that he would step…

Re-wind the tape! You know, there's something there besides the humor of the faux-pas committed, that is a tell. They just aren't that serious about the accusation. You know what the tell was?
Look at it again at about the 45 second mark. She corrects herself, and says "maybe that too!".
So, Trump really DID incite an "erection". Oh, my! We cannot have THAT. Oh, no...

Criminality in the White House: The Rise of the Political Psychopath
- There's no difference between politicians and psychopaths
- Republicans are no different from Democrats in this regard
- They create what is defined as "pathocracies"--dysfunctional states
- This happened in the former Soviet Union, it is now happening in the USA
- Washington DC ranks highest in psychopathic behavior
- pathocracy --- tyranny at the hands of a psychopathic government
- the pathocracy acts against the interests of its people, and for the benefit of the few
- Tyranny flourishes because there are those who identify with it
- "We are ....slaves in thrall to a faceless, nameless, bureaucratic totalitarian government machine"
What to do about all this? The author of the piece has some ideas. I won't go into those.
Perhaps it is what I have been writing about. To sum it up, be a dropout from the culture. The culture is screwed. Don't join it, drop out of it.
If it were possible, AI should be banned
There must be a new religion brewing, with all this popular culture nonsense going around. One of those things must be the mechanization of everything, including conciousness itself. What makes a human, anyway? To me, it is the power of thought. Perhaps the desire for so much convenience has caused people to become less than human now. No one is inclined to think! Let's have the computers think for us! I shudder at the thought.
Update a little later...: The idea that humans should rely upon robots to solve our problems is obscene. Besides, computers cannot do that anyway. All computers can do is to do what they are told. Computers are not capable of originality. If that were to change, we'd be in trouble.

Rob Braxman: "My life is none of your business"
This may be a losing battle. People don't perceive the danger. The general attitude is complacency. The reaction is as Braxman says here: "I have nothing to hide".
He also says that they'll change their minds eventually, but by then, it will be too late.
The Bill of Rights was written to limit the power of governments. Way too many people don't understand that, and are willing to give the wolves the key to their doors. The fact of the matter, the government has no business investigating people at all. They are supposed to be investigating CRIME. In order for them to investigate a CRIME, a CRIME has to be committed. This invasion of privacy investigates PEOPLE who aren't doing anything illegal, immoral, or fattening. But even if they are, there has to be a CRIME first.
Nobody will wise up to this until it is too late. But it is worthwhile to at least sound a warning. Maybe my pessimism on this issue will prove to be wrong.
Here's Braxman's video...
No Country for Old Men
1/11/24: Update to 9/30/23 post:
One more thought that I had about this post, which was made just a week before the Hamas massacre in Israel on Oct 7th 2023. It was that the country I'm living in could become unlivable, and it was because of things like this character portrayed in that movie.
But I had no idea it would play out the way it did. I don't own a crystal ball. But you can see the general drift of events. So the massacre was all but inevitable. More events like it are all but inevitable too, unless something changes.
I still haven't seen the movie. Just enough to determine the character being portrayed. An evil character. You have to ask, why would the POTUS make the same kind of characters into a protected class? He has, you know.

This movie came up in conversation recently. I was thinking about it in terms of what the world is coming to. But there are those who think differently from that. Harris County Grand Jury Declines to Indict Hero Customer Who Shot Taqueria Robber
An opinion piece tweeted below, which supports the decision of the Houston Grand Jury.
Comment: Perhaps it is intemperate of me to say that the people who really need to be shot are the ones who made this shooting necessary in the first place. Wouldn't it be better if the crooks knew that their chances for getting away with crime was virtually nil due to the fact that crime wouldn't be tolerated? But the powers-that-be want the crime, so its crime that we get.

This is a story from my old stomping grounds in Houston. There was a shooting at a taqueria in the Southwest area. A friend owned a taqueria in that area, if I am not mistaken about the location given in the tweet. South Gessner area covers a lot of ground. No address was given, but the name of the establishment was. I'm not familiar with that name. I don't know how much more I will dig for details.
I checked into the name of the district attorney, which sounds familiar. I left Houston in 2016, and Kim Ogg took over on Jan 1st, 2017. I didn't vote in that election. The Wikepedia article says she was a Republican once, but is a Democrat now. There are claims that she was funded by the Soros gang.
I'm sorry to say that Houston is appearing to follow the failed blue state model. There's not enough information here in order to determine if there was any merit to the charges, but the jury nobilled the case, so it's moot anyway. The general drift of the news indicates that this may have been another one of those cases in which the left wants to push the gun violence angle in a bid to play up the gun control issue.

Bannon's War Room: Not eyeglasses for a logo, but brass balls

My Fair Lady --- Professor Higgins' motivational speech
People really do judge you on the words you speak, and how you speak those words. It seems unfair, but that is the way it is. The character Eliza Dolittle set upon the task of learning how to speak properly, and she was struggling mightily. This speech motivated her to succeed.
Why bring this up? That video with Tucker Carlson and the Dr. Willie Soon shows the principle in action. People will judge Dr. Soon on the way he speaks as opposed to the what he speaks. He will be judged adversely based upon that alone ( by some, or maybe by many), and it seems quite unfair. But that is the way it is.
This is what the professor corrected in that movie: "Why can't the English learn to speak?"

A revelation even for me is that "fossil fuels" don't come from fossils. Mentally checking something I saw recently on YouTube with what's on this video, that one of Saturn's moons has what is called fossil fuels, then the question is how did they get there? Fossils in such a cold planet? Impossible!
By the way, Carlson interviews Dr. Willie Soon, who is described by Wikipedia as a "climate denier". So much for Wikipedia. The only arguments from these people are name-calling, which once was used as a marker for propaganda. Anyway, the Wikipedia made an issue of funding for Soon's work coming from the oil industry as if government support for the climate goons that comes from government funding is simon pure and cannot ever be questioned.
Anybody who questions the conventional wisdom of the so-called elites has my attention, for no other reason that they should be challenged at every opportunity.
Just goes to show that you have to challenge what you hear. Don't accept what you are told just because someone in authority say so.
Ep. 62 If fossil fuels come from fossils, why have scientists found them on one of Saturn’s moons? A lot of what you’ve heard about energy is false. Dr. Willie Soon explains.

Whatfinger video: How did the government fail so badly on the jobs report?
The video is a long answer. The short answer is that they're lying for political advantage. The former may be a more "respectable" answer. The short answer may seem "extreme", but the truth and the lie are at extremes. It can't be both, so it has to be one or the other.
That may be too much for people to handle, so it is a lot easier to believe the lie. The lie here is that the economy is doing great, but the truth is that it isn't.
It's actually Biden, who is the one protecting Hamas and their supporters
When it said "Rudy", I thought "Giuliani", but no.
But you have to dig a bit deeper to find out who it really is... It's Biden. He's made a protected class out of terrorists and their sympathizers.

Citizen Free Press: "Congressman Clay Higgins breaks down what really happened on J6."
1/9/24: Update to yesterday's post:
It appears that my posting about the challenges not being completed due to an emergency session set up by Speaker Pelosi, may not be correct. According to another source of information, all challenges were completed. They may have occurred under an emergency session organized by Pelosi, but the challenges were completed and voted upon.
Consequently, the assertion that this was a reason that standing was denied by SCOTUS, appears to be incorrect. That assertion needs to be closely examined. As of this writing, I haven't looked at the SCOTUS refusal to hear any case coming before it after the Congress had already certified Biden's victory in the electoral count.
In other words, that assertion here is no longer operative.
I looked at the entire timeline of the riot. There indeed appears to have been a failure of security. There were failures all around.
There was no formal charge for insurrection, but the information says that there was a referral to the DOJ for the same. Evidently, the charges were not sought by the DOJ.
Perhaps all of this can be considered by the SCOTUS now. I'd say that with the new information, that the SCOTUS ducked the issue of the election being lawful back in 2020. Will they duck this issue ( with respect to insurrection ) or will they actually address it courageously and honestly?
end update, the orginal post is directly below:
The link from CFP is to a tweet, which consists of an interview conducted by Tucker Carlson of Congressman Clay Higgins of Lousiana.
Sure, we can talk about J6th. Maybe we can get to the "bottom of it". But once again, the question: Why would Trump act adversely to his own interests, and why would events occur to the benefit of Democrats so that they could have an excuse to end all challenges, and remove standing in any court challenge, and thereby install Joe Biden to the Presidency?
I'll keep posting those questions even with an excellent argument is presented. It's not meant to detract from it, but to try to keep the focus on what the real issues are. By the way, this interview does provide some insights into what was really going on that day with respect to those issues. But NOT ENOUGH OF THOSE ISSUES. You can reduce it all to a one word question --- WHY?

Bravo Blue: "Worst Presidential Speech Ever"
Tweet linked from Instapundit. The link is to a Substack page (Bravo Blue) written by John A. Lucas.
I'm not familiar with the author. There's no about "About" page to say who he is. At this writing, I have looked (correction of a typo: add the word "no" to the following) further than the article itself. As for the article, it is quite lengthy, and it is quite critical of Biden. It's good to have someone out there willing to go through all that trouble to write such a lengthy and detailed rebuttal to a speech.
But it should be remembered, in order to keep things short. The Democrats needed an excuse to call an emergency session which would end all challenges to Biden's apparent victory. This was needed in order to prevent the matter from reaching the Supreme Court. The challenges would have given standing to the issue in the Court. Therefore, one should ask why would Trump do something deliberately adverse to his own interest, and why did this happen in a way that the Democrats needed in order to prevent their case from falling apart in the highest court of the land?
Furthermore, I'm suggesting that this article still misses the mark. The accusation of insurrection will go on in the face of obvious contradiction in order to avoid addressing the real issues. That is this: Was the emergency session really necessary as far as a legal outcome was concerned? The "insurrection" was over in just a few hours. There was still two weeks from inauguration day. Why the haste?

Believe her or don't believe her--- just for the record, I don't
CTH went over this J6th stuff recently. What the Democrats needed on J6th is EXACTLY what they got. They needed a way to STOP the challenges that were going to take place. These challenges are NORMAL in elections. But THIS one, we didn't get one! But the Demcrats could not AFFORD for them to take place. Therefore, they needed an excuse to end them, and they got it. Hence, the J6th "insurrection" or "riot", whatever the hell it all was. This gave Pelosi the excuse to end the challenges, which had the effect of directly installing Biden as President.
Funny how all that just fell into place for the Democrats. There was this huge excuse to do what she wanted to do anyway, and this just happened that way by magic or something. The effect of ending the challenges was to give the Supreme Court the excuse to duck out of making any ruling on the matter on the premise of "no standing". If there were challenges, there would have been standing. Do you see why there had to be a riot or insurrection, or what have you? Doesn't it seem suspicious that Pelosi got the excuse she needed to declare an emergency and end the proceedings?
The rest of this emotional gobbley-gook is nothing but cover for a fraud.

Anybody who reads this blog should know what I feel about the truth. Therefore, what to write about this piece? Generally, I agree with it. But in the interests of simplicity, and saving you some time, you can distill the essense down to this: How do you feel about the truth?
I suspect that the poltical left has a problem with the truth. If you need to read something like this to bolster your faith in the truth, then by all means--read it. I don't want to spend a whole lot of my time belaboring what should be obvious. It is obvious that we are dealing with inveterate liars. What to do about it is the key.
