I wouldn't bet on this happening, given the rather flaccid attitude of most so-called conservatives, but I am going to give some of this a shot.   As a matter of fact, I have been working on that very project.

First day of summer

Technically, it is about now, which is a little after 4pm Sat. 6.20.20.

At this time of the day, the sun is still fairly high in the sky, but the longest day of the year is winding down. According to the source, the sun is nearly at 270 degrees, which places it due west.

In the winter, it never gets to this point in the sky. It sets about 17 degrees south of this position. The highest the sun gets in the sky in the winter is lower than what it is now. In fact, most of the summer day, the sun is higher in the sky than at its highest point in the winter.

At its highest point today, the sun was at 83 degrees high, which is just 7 degrees short of vertical. The latitude here is also about 7 degrees north of the tropics. This is likely not a mere coincidence. Seems like in science class, it was mentioned that the sun goes directly overhead in the tropics. This location is 7 degrees north of the tropics. Consequently, it is 7 degrees short of vertical 90 degrees on its highest point.

This short little essay is probably quite boring, but it has real world applications when building something. If it is placed just right, the sun will work in your favor. Otherwise, you will have to fight it. That costs more energy for air conditioning or cooling. In the winter, the sun can warm up and thus reduce heating costs.

That is makes me interested in it. This is in reference to my off-grid project. Resources will be limited out there, and it behooves me to plan everything so that there will be enough energy to run the place.

Bizarre events becoming new "normal"?

It seems that the Tulsa Oklahoma Trump Rally may not go on as planned. The mayor has issued a "curfew", which will prohit Trump supporters from standing in line to get inside for the rally.

Whatever the rationale for this, it is yet another thread to the fabric of BIG LIES that are now spewing forth from the Democrat side of the aisle.

The mayor's explanation might be found somewhere. CTH opines that they are going to claim it is for the protection of Trump's people, or the "protestors" or both. The truth is that the hard left has hijacked the Democrat party, and the party is now no longer a functioning political party as we have known it. It is becoming a vicious mob. If the mob tells the mayor to shut down Trump, the mayor obeys.

Trump rallies are not known for gathering spots for rioters, you know. The riots are being perpetrated on the other side. So the Tulsa mayor is taking sides with the rioters in silencing Trump and his supporters.

Trump has been accused falsely many, many times in these past several years. His accusers have no cause for this action. Their actions are becoming more and more monstrous by the day.

This kind of thing happened in Hitlerite Nazi Germany. But that couldn't happen here, or so we have been told. /sarc

Do you lie?

There's a scene in the movie called "Departed" that may be useful in understanding the motives for lying. There are different kinds of lies. At least two, perhaps more. One of those kinds is called "The Big Lie". This is a lie of epic proportions. It is the kind of lying that Hitler's Nazi Germany liked to employ. Then there are those kind of lies that seem harmless, otherwise known as "white lies".

As for the movie scene, DiCaprio's character, who was an undercover cop, asks his therapist if she lies. She admitted that she did, and so they discussed some of the motivations for lying. She said it was to keep "an even keel". It seems to be a feminine characteristic to tell little white lies in order to "keep an even keel". What does that even mean? Does it mean to smooth things over? To avoid confrontations? To be "nice"?

The current events today appear to be the Big Lie version of lying. It seems that the GOP does not want to confront the Democrats about their incessant lying. Jeb Bush seems to be like the woman in the movie. He would serve as an archtype of the kind of person who would accept The Big Lie in order to "keep an even keel". When Bush criticized Trump for being the cause of "chaos", he was advocating a type of enablement of lying that facilitates their craft. Bush enables the left when he refuses to take on the left and their incessant lying.

There are many of those in the GOP like Bush. Could the recent court decision about making a new protected class the same kind of LYING that's being enabled? Why can't these decisions be challenged? It seems that all too many of these Bush types want to keep an "even keel" and accept what should be intolerable to any reasonable person.

You don't see the left accepting TRUTH, even if it is reasonable and obvious.

They will fight on any point at all times. They'll fight even when they are wrong and they are very willful about it. Why wouldn't they be? It works for them. It will work until something causes it not to work anymore.

But all we get on the GOP side is a lot of Bush types who want to keep an even keel. It is just a soft word for COWARDICE.

Something I just saw on Facebook. ( not my account, it was shown to me ) George Floyd is alleged to have been at his own funeral---ALIVE.

This raises the possibility of an immense FRAUD perpetrated upon the public.

But if this guy is still ALIVE, then the entire thing was a put-on.

One of the cops has a BADGE PAINTED ON HIS SHIRT. In other words, he's not a real cop. One of the other guys has been to numerous locations when something controversial happens. HE'S AN ACTOR. The whole thing was STAGED.

The reaction is also staged. It's all being done for politics---this much I strongly suspected from the very start.

There should be some skepticism of whatever the Democrats claim--- they should be required to PROVE IT.

If you recall, I posted here long ago that the Russian collusion wasn't even properly investigated. The FBI just took Crowdstrike's word for it and didn't even look at the servers. It was nothing but hearsay, and they based an entire investigation on it.

Same thing with the Ukrainian hoax that led to impeachment. All based upon hearsay.

Keep your eyes open and your minds engaged, folks. These clowns are playing us all like violins.

Suicide

It has been said the democracies commit suicide. As for the USA, it wasn't supposed to be a democracy. It is supposed to be a republic.

These days, nothing is as is supposed to be. There is supposed to be rule of law, but there is no rule of law. This country is being ruled by a cabal of lawless men ( and women). There is no accountability. If there was "rule of law", then there would be accountability. The law, if enforced equally and fairly, would ensure that everyone received equal treatment before the law. Instead of doing that, the Supreme Court has now made a new protected class.

These new classes now represent a rising aristocracy, which is supposedly illegal under the Constitution. The Equal Protection Clause in the 14th Amendment might as well be tossed out the window. We now live in Animal Farm conditions in which everyone is equal, but some are more equal than others.

The deceptions keep piling up. This isn't a free country governed by the rule of law. It is now a country in which some folks are not to held to any standard nor any accountability. I was wondering what the attraction is to the Democrats. This is what the Democrats offer. Those who are now in the protected classes have a vested interest in maintaining their privileges.

White Privilege? Nope. Neither under the law as written in the Constitution, nor in actual practice ( de jure v de facto ). White people, unless they are women, are accountable. Women are not, since they are a protected class. The one class that has now descended to the very bottom of the Animal Farm status heap are the straight white males.

That is suicide. A country thus ruled cannot endure. You may call that racist if you wish. Frankly, I don't give a rat's rear end what the privileged classes say anymore. This isn't about equality under the law. It is about privileged status.

If the country was truly governed according to its laws, it would have a chance. The current crop of nincompoops running this country are the kind that result in the end of nations.

The current state of affairs in the world may be the "end times". But if it isn't, it is going to be certainly the end of the USA. These jackasses are hell bent to see to that.

This has gone beyond the media and is now involving large corporations. They have been drafted into the left's propaganda offensive against the American public.

For example, there's advertising on the TV about how they are meeting the so-called Covid-19 "crisis". This messaging is all over the place. We are being bombarded with their propaganda, and those who deviate from the line are subject to harassment.

It is fascinating to watch how the layers of deception keep getting deeper. This post references the scams and diversions that the Democrats (and their enablers amongst the GOP) keep throwing at us in order to hide the truth about their corruption.

You'd think that they would try to give it all up and admit defeat, but they keep piling it on.

The riots are "mostly peaceful" for whatever that means. We don't get honesty about this ever. If there are riots then there are riots. If the protests are peaceful, then they are peaceful. What does "mostly peaceful" even mean? It means that those who are reporting the news aren't reporting the news.

Why would the news media distort the real circumstances but to assist the Democrats and their allies? If confronted on this, the media might well lie about that too.

These riots began as the "pandemic" seemed to be winding down. Funny how that happens. Once Mueller's report fizzled out, the phony Ukrainian scandal began. When impeachment failed, here comes the scamdemic Woo-hoo-coo-coo-flu. Once the flu cannot help them shut down the economy anymore, then they need something new to throw at us. Voila! Riots that aren't riots are trotted out for our attention. Look squirrel! Let's throw a riot by golly. Let's make it all about race even though the cops weren't accused of a hate crime.

The riots are staged to divert attention away from the fact that the Democrats are on the verge of being exposed as totally corrupt. Why would they care about this? Because they can count on their tribe, but can they count upon the "moderates"? The fence-sitters who don't know what to think unless they are told? The Democrats need the media to help them turn these people against the POTUS. It is the same old story since Day One of the Trump Era.

This is all to the benefit of the small number of people who can be influenced by the news. So the Democrats and the media get into action and sell us the latest diversion that will help them hide the fact that they are lying through their very teeth.

The riots are staged. That fact needs to be hidden so that they can pile up another layer of deception.

Xbox peculiarities

Now that I am an owner of an Xbox, and having gained some experience in the use of it, it may now be time for a bit of discussion about that experience.

Note that I didn't say a "proud owner" of the Xbox, just an owner. I wouldn't be an owner at all if it weren't for the fact that I was determined to get this thing. The store clerks didn't even care if I bought one or not, given how they seemed so indifferent about the sale of one.

As I mentioned in earlier posts, I wanted this thing in order to practice some driving skills. For that purpose, it seems to have yielded some useful results. I didn't have high expectations, and therefore, I am not completely disappointed. But I am not thrilled either.

So, having stated some slight dissatisfaction with the thing, what could be better about it?

The Xbox comes in two varieties at the present time. One is an all online gaming system, and this one I got still uses a disc. I prefer the disc. The reason for this is that there is just too much stuff going online these days. I didn't buy the thing to join a gaming community for crying out loud. All I wanted was to practice my driving skills. But the creators of this system seem determined to make all of it go online eventually. At some point in the future, the disc system will no longer be available.

I'm not happy to go online with everything. I think online stuff belongs online and offline belongs offline. It isn't necessary for me to be online all the doggone time.

By the way, you can play DVDs with this thing. But you have to sign in online in order to do it. That isn't necessary. Why does anyone have to sign in online to watch a movie? It is absurd.

The same is true about the gaming disc. You cannot use the thing unless you are signed in, and the disc has to be in the machine, or you cannot use it. The Xbox explained that it needs the disc to verify legitimate ownership. Harrumph.

Other gripes include a really clunky interface. If Microsoft makes this thing, why not make a smooth interface system? Windows may not be your cup of tea, but it is fabulous compared to this thing. There is no mouse, and the controller has to substitute for one. Not only that, the controller has to be used for input of passwords. Yes, there is a way around that. ( I think)

The installation itself was an entirely separate story in itself. I actually returned the thing and got a second one because I couldn't get the first one to install. If there were adequate instructions with the thing, this could have been avoided. All in all, this is very user unfriendly.

I'm not some computer newbie. I've been using computers of some kind going way back into the seventies. EARLY SEVENTIES. This thing is a throwback to the clunky computer systems of days presumably long ago in the past. It is retrograde in that respect.

I was told that this was a data hog. It can be, if you start using some of the online features. It is not too big of a nuisance though if you avoid this. In my case this is important because I am on a tight data budget. The more data I use, the more it costs me. Since I don't have a big budget overall, I am interested in avoiding additional expenses.

Still not finished with my gripes. I have had the thing less for about two weeks and now the controller needs batteries already. Arghhhhhh.

If it weren't for the fact that I was determined to use this thing, I would have nothing to do with it. Perhaps other folks have a different opinion. Let's just say I am not thrilled.

The author is calling it a "crusade". Why such a label? Is it to rile up the Moose-limbs? The author also claims they (NFL NASCAR) are "pivotal" allies. Pivotal? Allies? You have to note this kind of persuader phrasing means to swing people over to their viewpoint. The hard left is leaning hard on the corporations who have a lot of money at stake. The left knows this so the pressure is on. These corporations and many others like them are in the middle of this struggle. But the fans aren't.

I mean these corporations are in the middle, not in terms of their being innocent. They are in the middle because it is a no-win proposition for them. If they take their players' sides, they lose customers. Speaking for yours truly, I WAS a fan. Not anymore. If they are going to make the NFL a social justice warrior battleground, then I am OUT. I suspect that there are many more like me who are sick and tired of this BEE-ESS.

If the NFL wants to commit suicide, then let them. If NASCAR wants to commit suicide, let them. It is not my job to save them from themselves. As for the media, they can "kiss mah gree-yuts".

Respecting the flag and your country should not be controversial. If the Democrats want to make that the case, then you have a choice now don't you? Personally, I can live without them. I don't need highly-paid, rich athletes to tell me what I should think. If they can do without their big paychecks for their privileges while making asses of themselves, then bring it on.

Trust me on that one because I don't follow NASCAR anyway. When the Oilers left Houston, I stopped watching football on TV. When the Texans entered the league, I began following them. But I know what life is like without the NFL. I can manage it. Been there, done that.

This kind of thing reminds me of the cozy relationship that the Democrats have with corporations. That was supposed to be a GOP thing. Not anymore. In fact, it is becoming another creature of the left. The corporations, that is.

There needs to be a major pushback on this kind of thing. Somehow.
