Space is bad for you, this says

This is a short video clip of an astronaut trying to walk after a prolonged mission in space. He clearly has a lot of difficulty in walking without any assistance.

This brings Elon Musk's Starship into a bit of question. Do you really want to put people on board this thing for months at a time, and then deposit them on the surface of a hostile environment like Mars?

Much work needs to be done in order to make space travel feasible. Artificial gravity could be a help with what this astronaut is suffering. Also, there needs to be more protection from harmful radiation.

The effects from radiation are much hyped, but it is clear that too much will definitely hurt you. Without sufficient protection, it is going to be a bad experience for folks who expose themselves to this hazard.

But space does not have to be bad per se, as this post seems to be saying. You can die on the surface of the Earth itself if you don't have protection from the elements.

If humans lived only where it is possible to go without shelter and clothing, we would be living in trees in the tropics. Is that the kind of thinking that should prevail?

Getting spaceflight costs down through reusability is an important first step. But there's a lot more to do.

Keep wearing the mask David Hogg

Nobody will stop you. If you need it to show that you are not a conservative, by all means, wear the mask.

Wear it even though it isn't needed. It was never needed. We know that by your words. It wasn't about public health. It was your uniform in the culture wars. But you don't have to take off your uniform. You can keep on fighting your battles against the conservatives. Nobody will stop you.

You needed permission from the CDC? Was that the reason? Or was it some other reason that compelled you to give up your prized badge of allegiance? What could that reason be?

Starship videos

What the lunar Starship could look like inside and out.

Systemic failure means trouble ahead

If standards mean anything anymore, then the report seen on Instapundit is prima-facie evidence of a failed policy. It used to be considered verboten to monetize the debt. It is now being done at unprecedented rates. Consider the following:

It is plainly evident because it is unprecedented. There has been inflation before, and this will spark inflation because it has done so before. We have seen double digit inflation with less cause than this. It is plain that we will see it again and soon.

Failed policy formerly meant throwing the bums out. But what if you cannot do this now? What if the bums provided a way to keep themselves in power despite their failures? It is happening in Venezuela today. It has happened in many other places in the world where a maladministered government kept itself in power indefinitely.

But we had it better than that, or so we thought. If democracy means anything, failed policy should mean a change in government. But what if that government won't leave?

That could spell big, big trouble ahead. No matter how it shakes out, there'll be trouble. Trouble in the case of the people patiently enduring it because they will suffer. Or if the people revolt, trouble may mean a great deal of bloodshed. Either way, it is not a good thing to have the kind of situation that is developing in our country.

The Democrats are resisting with all their might to examine the ballots in all the contested states. If the contest was really fair, they should have nothing to fear except the consequences of their own failed policies. That's assuming that they actually won. If they really lost, and perpetrated a massive fraud upon the public, we need to know that now before it is too late.

Failed regimes can cause hyperinflation, wars, and genocide. Do we really want that kind of trouble?

Starship Thermal Protection System

If a highly technical discussion is your thing, this may be for you. I was wondering about the subject and found this. He also dicusses why the lunar version will be white. What will Jesse Jackson say about that?

Good words are good even from a not-so-good source

Not really talking about yours truly, but it all depends upon your vantage point, huh? No, seems like there was something that Jimmy Swaggart once said that was pretty good. Trouble is, he got into a bit of hot water over something that made the Reverend look not so good. Perhaps the words were soon forgotten.

The words were good, though. The words were about "situational ethics". Seems like a lot of that's going around lately. "Hey, if it feels good, do it." Never mind if it is a really bad idea. Tailoring your ethics to the situation you're in is the very definition of badness. If a thing is wrong, it's wrong. It's not right just because you get something you like out of the deal.

The words were good, then. The Reverend soon afterwards was found not to be abiding by his own words. In such a scenario as that, what do you do? Do you throw out the words because the man didn't live up to them?

Or do you keep the words, and remember that everyone has their issues? That's what I mean. It might cause some not-so-good types to take heart that those who should give good examples don't always do that. But that doesn't excuse them any more than it discredits the words if the man doesn't live up to the words.

So what's good and what's bad? Let me think...

Here's another thing I thought up today. ( Oh, no!) I heard an ad that was supposed to be a sales pitch. But the sales pitch kinda struck a sour note with me. It was about something being "fast and easy". The reason that fast and easy seems sour right now is this tech tyranny. There's a lot about the internet scene that is "fast and easy". But fast and easy has its price. We're paying for a whole lot of fast and easy. Maybe things shouldn't always be so fast and so easy. You may begin to lose something in the process.

Getting a check for doing nothing is fast and easy. But then people forget that it takes effort to get the goodies that the money buys. If get a little too much of that fast and easy, you lose your interest in working. Lots of jobs out there, but nobody wants to work because of that fast and easy money.

Talking about fast, it is already the middle of May. Made me think of the song "Time passages".

I'm trying a few things out today, so this post is a little different. Maybe it will work better.

I have a lot of thoughts like these, but they get lost in the shuffle. I wrote these ideas down, and made this post from them. Maybe that will work better than losing my ideas because I tend to forget them when I get busy doing something else.

Getting lost in the shuffle is why the public probably cannot focus on any one idea for long. That's kinda of what we're dealing with in these times. Lots of things could go wrong, but the public will focus on something else tomorrow, and it gets lost in the shuffle. Some good things might get thrown out because it is too easy to forget what should be remembered.

I had another idea, but that is too much for now. This will have to do for this post.

Thick headed or what exactly?

For those who feel gratified when the truth comes out, there was some news today that should help clear up at least one thing. Whether or not it actually gets reported is another thing.

Ivermectin will be used in an Indian state of Goa, as Barnhardt has reported. There you go. A real live example of what this drug could do if it were to be relied upon. They were forced into this expedient because not enough "vaccine" was available.

My memory isn't always accurate. I'm writing that last bit about it being the reason for their use of Ivermectin, from memory. Okay, if that is so, then it is amazing that so many people could fail to see a way out of this mess even though this answer has been available the entire time.

In other words, people can be awfully thick skulled when they want to be. Yes, and they seem to want to be an awful lot of the time.

Another bit to look at is a comment I remember reading in response to somebody tweeting that the Democrats won't give up their masks. This in spite of the fact that they don't work, AND THEY KNOW IT. You see, the whole point is not that they work or not, but that they CARE more than anybody else. It is virtue signalling gone amuck.

Well, somebody commented upon what was said there, and came up with the idea that influenza was stopped by the masks! Oh, brother. So, the amazing and super powerful COVID can penetrate masks, but influenza cannot? Besides, if COVID can penetrate the masks, then what good are they against COVID?????

Stuff like that might give an idea of the thick headedness out there.

Has Rappoport's blog being taken down?

I click on it every so often, but just now, the link doesn't work anymore.

Wordpress has tried to take out CTH, and maybe now this.

Rappoport's blog was hard-hitting against the COVID fraud. Maybe the message is making some inroads, and the censorship is back.

If that is what happened. There has been no word that I'm aware of.

Update:  nope.

A quick thought

The Ivermectin story is looking more and more familiar in its own way. I suppose there would be those who would disagree, in more ways than one. But one thing that both share is a great promise that was not realized.

Ivermectin is not an experimental drug. It has a significant history of safe usage. There is no safety issue with it. Billions of doses have been given. There are no side-effects that I've heard about. Perhaps there really aren't any at all.

Yet is proven effective in many ways, and some are calling it a miracle drug.

The comparison above is between Ivermectin and molten-salt reactor technology. Both share one thing-- they have been proven safe in significant ways. Yet neither have received that recognition. The risk factors of each have been blown completely out of proportion- even to the point of being misrepresented.

It is quite ironic that people are willing to trust an EXPERIMENTAL drug against COVID, but wouldn't consider this drug because they are unfamiliar with it. The only reason that anyone wouldn't be familiar with it is the lack of information provided about it, despite the fact that enormous experience exists with it.

There is nothing to lose by trying it. No side effects reported. The effectiveness might be debated, but the safety factor is not debatable.

Frank Zappa--- I'm the Slime

People may look away because this isn't very nice. Notice that it doesn't get many views.

Not acknowledging the truth won't make it go away.

The stuff he says is as true as ever, and even more so. The slime is much worse now than when this was made way back in the seventies.

You know back then, I didn't get this tune. TV seemed harmless. But look what has happened.

If you LIKE what has happened, I suppose these thoughts have no place in you. Too bad. You may live long enough to regret it.
