A "Green" New Deal That Could Work
It would work in the sense of reducing or eliminating carbon based fuels.
It would work in the sense that it would be more economical than solar or wind.
It would work in the sense that it would be 100% available, as opposed to other "green" technologies, like solar, wind, thermal, and hydropower.
The only opposition that can be made would be on the basis of safety and waste. In reality, nothing is 100% clean, nor 100 % safe. But this isn't bad.
If you want to do a fundamental change in how we do energy in the advanced world, this is the way to go.
By the way, Sorensen has some great comments in this video. If there is any one person who would be responsible for the rebirth of this concept, it would have to be this guy. There are others, of course. But this guy has got all the arguments down pat.

Trump could be barred from the ballot in 18 states
Illinois' Senate passed a law that required Trump to provide income tax returns, or be excluded from the ballot in the next Presidential election. The same law is being considered in 17 other states.
Okay. Let's combine this with the National Popular Vote compact, and what do you get? A guarantee that the Democrats win the popular vote and the Presidency. How?
Stop and consider how many votes in the blue states can be withheld from Trump. It would be in the millions. No chance at all for Trump to win the popular vote in such an event.
So, even if the President could win the majority of the votes, the participating states are going to try to rig it so that he cannot win.
A gimmick. Hopefully, this ought to demonstrate that the Democrats are not going to play a square game here.
Update:
Just a personal comment here. It is fine and dandy with me if the Democrat run states want to award their electoral votes NOW to the Democrat nominee in advance. Just don't call it an election.
If we had a real opposition party, instead of a bullshit party like the GOP, they would be doing this themselves.
Here are the Democrats doing this in the name of democracy. They are a bunch of liars.

Seinfeld blog
Hey, it is a post about nothing.
There's literally nothing I want to post about, but in the interest of posting something, I'd like to say this is indeed a post about nothing.
And there you are.
Before I hit the publish button on this nothing, I want to write something. But I cannot think of anything, so I won't write anything until I think of something.
I hope that is clear.

Doing a bit of study
There hasn't been much posting lately, and perhaps an explanation could be helpful.
You cannot get an education in a few days. It is a very time-consuming process. As for my own formal education, it stopped at the four year degree level. I didn't go on with it. It wasn't any interest of mine to become a scholar. My mind is of a practical nature. I am more interested in how things work than in discussing theoretical things.
Let's just say I know I am no scholar, nor do I wish to be. However, I am definitely interested in following the general outlines of many topics, and I can definitely spend a great deal of time on these. For me, this study may also be considered practical. If it is useful, I'm interested. Otherwise, maybe not so much.
Right now, I am attempting to fill in a few gaps in my knowledge. The course of study is rather general, so it doesn't go in depth as much as a scholar would like.
As always, it is a goal to be grounded in truth, as opposed to speculation. Certainly as opposed to ignorance. There are those who I have argued with who have called me ignorant. These people were probably engaged in political polemics, so I don't take it seriously. But I do want to know what I am talking about.
In the end, I hope it will improve my writing. Otherwise, why do it?

Arrest of Julian Assange...
of Wikileaks. Just a brief note of that and a brief comment.
This arrest may lead to some light upon the Democrat charge of Russian hacking of the DNC emails. If Assange can prove that the source was not Russia, then this arrest can be seen as really bad news for the Democrat narrative.
At least, that is what I think. Perhaps the obfuscation is such that it doesn't matter at this point. However, if there are enough people in this country that care about the truth, this arrest can finally settle the matter as to whether or not the emails were hacked, or leaked by a disgruntled DNC staffer by the name of Seth Rich.
If Mueller was really doing his job, this would have been the first question answered. Instead, it has been over two years. The real job of Mueller may well have been the obfuscation of the facts.
Updated a short while later...:

Mr. Assange is suspected of aiding Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election by releasing material stolen from the Clinton campaign. Good polling news for Trump
Updated,
4.9.19:
By way of a Free Republic post, Trump's polls are now 53%, with Strongly Approve up to +1.
It might improve even more from what I heard about AG Barr's testimony before Congress. If anything, the Democrats have more to fear from transparency than Trump does.
I pretty much feel that I can almost guarantee that the Dems fear transparency more than they fear losing in 2020.
4.2.19:
From time-to-time, I check out this poll. Since they check it every day, and use likely voters, I consider it to be the best poll out there.
The significant thing is not his approval numbers, but the strongly disapproval numbers have dropped to bring it into nearly equivalence to strongly approval numbers. His net is just minus 3 now, which isn't bad considering how much he has been bashed.
His numbers continue to improve. This poll is the best I've seen yet.

Don Surber: Why is Buttigieg a Democrat then?
Don Surber: Why is Buttigieg a Democrat then?: Mike Pence was governor of Indiana in 2015 when Democrat Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend came out of the closet as gay amid a controversy...
Comment:
I suppose this is a bit off my intended target a bit, but what a name! You might say he is a Butt of jokes. Bwah, hah, hah!
It is even more hilarious that this guy is homosexual. He's a Butt-boy alright.
Okay, back off the levity a bit.
Why is conservatism failing right now? Or is it? I think it is. If you click through the link, you arrive at the point of asking since Butt-boy thought the law was wrong, then why is he a Democrat? It was the Democrats who passed the law, says Surber ( Religious Freedom Restoration Act. ) That is pure logic and rationality for an argument. The Democrats are no longer in that mode, if they ever were. Therefore, how does it reach Butt-boy? It won't. It is preaching to the choir. Words, logic, and reason no longer reach these people. Something else is required.
I was just thinking of how white people get pushed around this morning. An example is a video that I got off the TV show called Ray Donovan. It was about "Twerking". (I won't link to the video.) The reason is that is full of obscenity. My point is that we have Katie Couric types saying that Trump had "done" things, but she doesn't seem to see the irony of that argument when you consider this video. In that video, the woman uses all kinds of language that would supposedly make Katie turn five shades of crimson. That kind of language is off-limits to Katie and her friends, but why isn't it off-limits to the black chick? That chick is using every bad word you can think of. So, why is that okay?
Then, you take that, and the usual complaint about double standards. Hey, you cannot get mad if you are white. You cannot criticize the degradation of society unless you want to be called racist, bigot, or homophobe. Yet, we have so many on the so-called conservative side who are all-too-willing to join up with the left in this continued degradation. So, they play along and accept all their premises. Where does this lead us? Surber uses the word "gay" in reference to homosexuals. That is accepting their premise while ostensibly arguing against it.
So, Mike Pence "turned the other cheek" when Butt-boy got feisty. Wrong answer! It seems that too many of the so-called conservatives are letting the Butt-boys preempt them, and talk them into accepting all of their premises. Hey, if you are a Christian, you have to take a whoop ass without saying a word. You gotta turn that cheek. Let's make a virtue out of cowardice.
So, Butt-boy is now defining what is a Christian. The conservatives are mute, turning the other cheek, like Pence. Sorry, that doesn't get the job done. Arguing with logic and reason, like Surber did isn't enough, either.
The thing that really bothers the Katie Couric types is that they are being shown up for the cowards that they are. But that is Katie Couric. Mike Pence is in a more responsible position. I'm disappointed. Pence is Trump's number two man. He needs to act more like the boss.

Diana West Interview
by Stefan Molyneaux posted on The Last Refuge
Hey, something is cooking out there folks.
Check out what she says in this section about the alleged hacking of the emails. There could be a spectacular revelation here waiting to be discovered, if only somebody would look into it. But there is an effort to say "no, you can't go there".
What I am getting about here is Seth Rich's murder. If you want to look at something that involves conspiracy to commit a crime, there you are. But if you were to bring it up, you are a conspiracy theorist. So, what exactly is the Russian Collusion theory?????
Turnabout is fair play.
The rest of the video can be seen at the Last Refuge. It is posted there. Have a look, please.
By the way, she drops a few names that I've seen before. No, not the obvious ones, but another.
Update several hours later:
Why would Seth Rich be murdered? To answer that question, let's look at the "insurance policy" in case of a Trump victory. There was a need to protect themselves in case of a Trump victory. If Rich was the source of the Wikileaks emails, then that goes away early in the story. In other words, it ruined their plans. The Russians had to be blamed. They could not afford it to be an internal leak. Rich had to be silenced.

Can of worms
Updated,
4.7.19:
Dead men don't talk, so I have heard. That goes for women as well, I am sure.
That reminds me of something... Do we know who killed Seth Rich????
Now that Mueller has been seen shooting blanks, perhaps they can train their guns in that direction, hmmm?
4.2.19:
The lady files suit, and the mob "settles out of court". Asked about the deal, the lady was unavailable for comment.

Rick Beato's story
It is his own story in his own words. The story is how he became the guy in the video that I just put up.
When I was listening to his story, I got the impression that he was "following his bliss". That phrase of following one's bliss, is something I remember reading about in one of Joseph Campbell's talks with Bill Moyer. It was turned into a book called the Power of Myth.
So, what does it all mean? The hell if I know. Like I wrote yesterday, so much of life is a mystery. We don't necessarily know the road that we take, or even why. If you know that you are following your bliss, you know about as much as you may need to know. That's what I got out of this video.

What makes this song great?
According to Rick Beato
The song is Whole Lotta Love by the rock band called Led Zepellin. The song was released in late 1969. Of course, almost everyone should know about this song, if you are into rock and roll. No need for further introduction.
As for Rick Beato, he has a lot of videos that I've watched, but this is the first one that I've blogged about. He is quite knowledgeable, so it is definitely worth watching. The thing he does is break down the song in all of its elements, and puts it all back together again. What he does gives you a greater appreciation of what was done to make the song.
I've written this before, so I might as well mention it again. At one time, I was attempting to learn to play guitar. One thing that I got out of this video is why you can never get that sound. The sound came from the studio. No way that they could reproduce this in a concert hall. At least, not in all of its intricate detail. You would need a bunch of people who reproduced all the sound effects, and those people would have to be different from the people who actually did the original recording.
In other words, at lot of this is artificial. Just my opinion, folks. No intention to downgrade the song, just that it is what it is.
