Unbelievable yet again. These guys don't answer to anybody but themselves. Do they think we are all stupid out here, and can't see what is going on?

Deep State strikes back

A shocker here. First thing, I didn't know anything about Emmer when this all started. Then I found out a little more, and the stop signs should have gone up. Now this. This is a definite no-no to nominate this guy, but they are going to do it.

It can only succeed if the people remain in the dark about what they are trying to pull off. If the GOP nominates and selects this guy, they are determined to lose the election next year. That's because people will figure out that the election is totally meaningless. It's tails they win, and heads we lose type situation. It's the Kobayashi Maru scenario from Star Trek. That's what these people are attempting to pull off. This despite the fact that none of their candidates are winning the vote in primaries. By the way, I saw a story that shows that they are trying to rig New Hampshire against Trump despite his massive lead in the polls. Unbelievable. Or is it?

Does this strike a familiar theme?

Bongino and the 'Oatmeal God'

3:43PM: Daily update(1):

More here.

And here . I could do this all day.

end (1):

10/21/23, 3:04 PM

The Plan to Destroy America almost overnight.

Bongino won't attack the GOP, but they deserve a lot of the blame. No, I'm not referring to the absence of a Speaker. Actually, it might be better to have a Speaker as opposed to not having one, but with these f^%k ups, not having a Speaker might be an improvement.

Anyway, I don't think it's worth losing your mind over. There's little you can do about the power of stupid. Stupid is in the gene pool, and is well represented. Maybe you can cope with the overpowering stupid, but that may take the wisdom of Solomon.

Marcus House does Updates on SpaceX and others

Marcus House does Updates on SpaceX and others

It seems that there are some signs of progress with the FAA in getting a launch license done. Once that happens, SpaceX will be sure to launch soon. That part, and the construction progress at Starbase takes up about half of the video.

SpaceX isn't the only game in town. India is on the move. They want to do a manned space mission soon. There's a lot of preparations for that, so nobody should be surprised once they actually do it.

There was a mention of the "black hole sun" event that took place recently.

But SpaceX dominates the video. There was also mention of the Starlink missions, which seem rather mundane at this point. Amazing that a person could think that, as this is all rather amazing. Funny thing, it could be even better if the FAA would get the lead out.

Mr. Sandman

Update: The thing I noticed is that there is very little musical instrumental accompaniment. Just about all the music is from the ladies as they sing. That is unusual these days, but may not have been in the past. Perhaps I am mistaken about these assertions, but that is how it seems to me.

end update

Do you notice anything unusual about this?

There's something I noticed about it just this morning. I was perusing some musical stuff on the YouTube and this song popped up, amongst other things.

I knew the song from "Back From The Future", when Marty McFly finds himself transported to the year 1955. This song was being played as he strolled into town. But that's not the unusual thing about this song. At least, it is not the thing I had in mind. Which means there may be more than one thing unusual about it.

I'll update later on what I am referring to.

With a crisis comes an opportunity

Pooty Poot is dropping out of Test Ban Treaty---what it could mean

Glen Reynolds at Instapundit muses on the possibility of reviving the old idea of using nukes to get to the stars. It so happens that I did a study of the possibilities of that. It may be possible to spark a mini-hydrogen bomb with a minimal yield through the use of gamma rays.

Such a nuke would be a pure fusion device. Old fashion H-bombs needed a fission explosion to get the bomb to explode. But the pure fusion device wouldn't need that. It would induce fusion with a gamma ray. There are lasers that could be developed that use gamma rays. These are called grasers.

The Ukrainian war which Putin has started may yield an opportunity to develop space faring propulsion that would have over a million ISP. Trips to Mars would go a lot faster.

Of course the left would try to stop that. They don't even like SpaceX. They'd never go along with a space nuke idea. On the other hand, they cannot afford Pooty Poot with a monopoly of nuke space bombs.

Godzilla Blue Oyster Cult

Get that guy's agent! We need this dude to go after the Deep State.

Godzilla is kick-ass... He seems to be doing a victory dance.

The Chords of Grand Funk Railroad

Homer Simpson's favorite band...

Nice breakdown. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Sure would've liked to have YouTube back in the day when I was fiddling around with the geetar. Instant chick magnet stuff.

Couldn't play that thing out of a wet paper bag.

Democracy dies in darkness

The Westminister declaration says "Open Discourse is central pillar of a free society". I'm sure Jeff Bezos would agree. In addition, so would Nancy Pelosi and the rest of her brood. Don't they say so all the time?

But what about the fellows in the GOP? Would they take the pledge to support freedom of speech, or would they rather join those who would seek to censor anybody with a differing opinion?

A bit more truth and a lot less lies

Who and what can you believe these days? Here's a poll that says Biden's poll numbers are bad. Rasmussen's is a lot better for Biden. Who do you believe?

There's so much BS out there that it is just about impossible to determine what the truth actually is. That's the way the ruling class likes it. Everything just adds to the mix of chaos. Even the actual election results cannot be trusted.

There are ways to correct this, but the government doesn't want these things corrected. That includes many in the GOP.

So what do you do?

Ground news had a link to a story about how people may be favoring violence to settle political disputes. That should be an alarming development, but something tells me that the government doesn't mind this either. I suspect that it may fit in with their plans.

We need the truth, but that is precisely what we will not get. There'll be violence, and whatever emerges may well be even worse than what we've got now. Just saying.

By the way, the Truth Social Posts here may be getting censored.  Sometimes the embeds work, sometimes they don't.

Big Brother is watching you

For me to see this, I'd have to drive an hour. At any rate, it is probably right on target with respect to its message. Consequently, the flak will begin immediately afterwards.

If you can jail the former president of the usa for nothing, then they could do it to anyone anytime.

The Big Tech-Big Government symbiote is the infamous Orwellian Big Brother. The leftist thugs are now attacking Orwell.

Save the automotive manufacturing sector

Libs liked to say that people who vote for Republicans are voting against their own interest. What interest is being served if all of the automotive manufacturing goes to China?

A lot of dealers cannot sell their cars these days. Why? Because of excessive and punitive government regulations, the prices of autos are too high. Quality has gone down too. It won't be too long in the future that most folks won't be able to own their own vehicle. Let me tell you, I tried that once. I got rid of my vehicle, and used mass transit. It sucks. Cars are much better.

Electric cars are far more expensive. I wouldn't buy one because they don't make sense economically, and besides with my meager pension, I cannot afford them. If you keep you old car, they'll try to take that away too! Seems like I heard about a proposal to do just that.

Chumps trying to take down Trump

The reporter threw in the snark about "persecution", but Trump handles it with the greatest of ease.

These people running the country are world-class chumps.

Guys like these chumps don't win. Even when they do, they still lose because they'll drag everyone down including themselves. They fit the stupid class mentioned in an earlier post.

Find your district page

There were 20 holdouts for the election of the new Speaker. Three of these were from Texas, which is my state. One of those members is in the district in which I have my property. I ignored that since I don't live there, and cannot legally vote there and here both. Not that some people may actually do that, which means they voted more than once.

Here's the map for Texas.

Maybe I'll check out this dude who voted against Jordan.

Marxist dialectics--why sincere conservatives ought not to use it

Update, 10/17/23:

Jordan's first vote falls through. It looks like there will be more votes. I'm including the development on this post, as opposed to the McCarthy updates because the link is acquired from Ground News. Ground News links to Voice of America, which is state-owned. If it is state-owned, that means it is socialist. Yet Ground News calls VOA "factual".

I don't know how a state-owned enterprise can be considered "center". Once again, I have to take exception to the use of this terminology because it distorts the true situation.

The article uses a lot of "persuader words", which are intended to show some disapproval of Jordan. Sorry, I'm having none of that. It is not truly even-handed. As for it being center of the road, what the hell does that even mean? This government is middle of the road, centered, and factual? Nope, not a chance. Jordan is called "hard-charging", his supporters are "hard-right"; and McCarthy was removed by "angry hard-liners".

Asking for accurate and honest reportage is too "extreme", I suppose. We have to allow dishonesty in order to be reasonable? There's nothing honest about VOA's characterizations. There's nothing reasonable about people who are determined to hide the truth.

end update:

10/15/23, Update of post of 8/22/23:

There's a website called Ground News, which rates articles upon the Marxist model heretofore mentioned on this iddy biddy blog.

Even though I reject the usage of the model, the site is proving to be useful. For example, the DOJ has filed an anti-trust lawsuit against Google. I found it through Ground News. Most so-called "right-wing" websites don't bother covering it. The left (the term is used here because that's what they call themselves) is all over it, with it being standard fare on their sites.

A reading of those articles is pretty thin in terms of significance. Even if the DOJ wins the suit, it isn't likely to be impactful. The remedy to the alleged wrongdoing of Google is already being applied in Europe. People there use Google anyway. It is a whole lot of nothing. So if you ignore that, does it make you a right-wing site? Hence, the terminology doesn't really apply, at least in this case.

There are complaints that could be filed against Google, but not against their search engine. Google is a lot more than that. Hence, the significance isn't really there.

end update:

8/22/23, Update of post of 2/18/22:

Yep, saw it again. You can argue all day long about who is the "true conservative" and who isn't. But in MY book, the dead giveaway is the use of the Marxist dialectic of the "right" v the left.  The left loves it and so the label fits them.  But using the word "right" in reference to yourself is a loser every time. That's why the left loves it so much.

Therefore, a true conservative would never use that paradigm in a description of himself...

the original post follows below:

Real life example of the Marxist dialectic, ie left-center-right

Comment:

So Ace cuts Ed Morrisey a new one here and that's good. But I'd like to use that as an opportunity to demonstrate why using this model of political analysis is a bad idea, unless you are like Ed Morrisey, and aren't sincere about your conservatism.

The reason should be obvious. It makes it much easier to attack anybody who IS sincere about their conservatism. Just call them "extremists". They can hide behind their "moderation", and say that it is equally bad for "right-wing" extremists than for "left-wing" extremists. In practice, the commies will just call anybody who disagrees with them a "right-wing" extremist or fascist. Note that all of a sudden, nobody gets to disagree with the commies. Commies are hysterical about any opposition. Of course you are. In the commie world, everybody who isn't on their side is the next Adolf Hitler.

It is not wrong to call them commies because it is their paradigm, and they use it so well. For conservatives to fall into this by calling themselves as being "on the right" is just plain dumb. Or they are like Morrisey, and they aren't sincere.

It's the kind of maneuver that makes "failure theater" work. The "moderates" can pretend to be on the side of conservatism, but when it comes time to prove that with something meaningful, they are nowhere to be found.

Commies are liars, and so are those who practice this tactic. They are enabling the commies even if they are sincere when they use it. All that is necessary is for guys like this to use that label to smear conservatives as fascists, and what can you say if you play their game? The answer is not to play their game. Don't use a Marxist model that only works for Marxists. That is, unless you are a Marxist yourself.

Here I go again

Replay!

9/22/23: Another Rick Beato "What makes this song great" episode.

He really gets into it. Check it out.

By the way, I didn't ever notice one thing about the song, and that is how it ends. It ends with a commercial jingle. Beato compares Morrison with Sinatra. I saw somewhere on the webs that Sinatra hated "Light my Fire". Maybe Sinatra hated all of Morrison's songs, actually. It may have been because of stuff like that--and this.

Mining those asteroids

Update post of 10/12/23:

Water and carbon was found on asteroid samples in the Osiris Rex mission. That alone means rocket fuel could be made from it. If the sample is representative of what Bennu is made of, then the asteroid could be used as a filling station of sorts. The mass of the thing is such that it would take a long time to use it all up.

end update:

Just in...

Mining asteroids, my old friend. Update post of 4/9/18:

The Psyche asteroid mission launches this week.  The follows on the heels of the Osiris Rex sample return mission to the Near Earth Object Bennu, which has just recently completed its multi-year journey.

The mining of Asteroids presents an opportunity for somebody out there, but maybe not America. The Biden Administration wants to punish Elon Musk for disagreeing with his crew, the Democrats, who want to censor free speech. Musk wanted to promote free speech, which isn't against the law, but the Democrats have a problem with free speech.

Elon Musk wants to colonize Mars. He is developing his Starship for that very purpose. What good is Mars? It may be useful as a launching spot for the mining of asteroids. The gravity well is much more shallow, and there's the possibility that with some in-situ resourcing, that all of what would be needed could be obtained from there. Mars could develop an economy that's based upon space mining.

Where to mine? There are "trojan" asteroids, which means that they share Mars' orbit. A trip to a Mars trojan of x-type would require less delta-v than from Earth. This means a Starship may be able to get to it and mine that sucker.

An x type asteroid can have useful stuff. The one at Mars may be about the size of Bennu. Mars crossers ( could they be used as cyclers?) may be reachable as well. There's one that crosses Venus' orbit that is worth over $20 trillion.

If it couldn't make cycler by itself, its materials may be used to construct one, and then launch it from there so as to make one. You could have a network of cyclers which would mine asteroids and trade with each other and Earth. It would be good for the economy, and provide opportunities.

But that doesn't appear to be important to the Democrats. Perhaps not with the Republicans either, who seem more interested in fighting Americans (who curiously vote for them from time-to-time), than in seeking greater opportunites for its people.

the original post follows just below:

A Mars colony may have a respectable chance at mining asteroids.  One thing going for Mars is its low escape velocity.  A second thing is that you can refill your propellant tanks in orbit, just as you would do on Earth.  A third thing is that Amun 3554, a rock worth up to 20 trillion bucks, is easier to get to from Mars than Earth.  That is to say, the delta-v required to get from Mars orbit to the rock is lower than it is for Earth.  Quite a bit lower, if these numbers are meaningful.  Not to mention that the launch windows should be similar to those to Earth, as this asteroid has an orbit around the sun which is nearly identical in length as the Earth's.

So, if Elon Musk can get his colony established on Mars, then they may have something to shoot for.

Update on same day, 4.8.18:

Looks like it may support about a billion and a half dollars in cargo on each mining trip.  That could support a per capita 50k income, which is equivalent to a Western Civ standard of living for about 16k people.  Far from a million people, though.  Perhaps it could be a start.

Figures based on 1000 per oz selling price for gold or platinum, 100k lbs of cargo capacity, and a 2 year mining trip.  Numbers are mostly guesses.  Actual numbers may vary, of course.

Updated, 4.9.18:

It may be easier to get at this asteroid from Mars than from the Moon.  The delta v for the Moon may be a little lower, but since the orbital periods are so much alike, but not exact, the asteroid could wander off into an unfavorable position for many years before it came back to a favorable position.  There is another asteroid that may be easier to access from the Moon, however.  It is 1986 DA.

The bottom line is that Musk's rockets may well have a real impact over future events.  There is little doubt that people in the know are taking notes of what he is trying to achieve, and may well achieve.
