CTH: "Democrats Starting Realize The Dangers of Their Moonbat AOC"

Comment:

Hope that Sundance is right.  However, if the truth is what motivates people, then how do you explain how much of this weird stuff that is going on these days?

AOC was no closet socialist, you know.  These people knew what they were getting, or should have known.

Obligatory, 2.15.19

As mentioned, the data spikes limited my access to the web.  Consequently, there has been light posting.

It was mentioned on the other blog that I made a trip out West to my property.  It is still there, imagine that.

Anyway, the crudeness of everything is what grabbed my attention.  One gets used to being civilized.  I had forgotten how it was.  After the initial shock, I soon got accustomed to it.   If I was inclined to think about it, my standard of living is lower than it once was, and even that was lower than living in a nice big house.

There's a lot of time to think out on the road.  In fact, there is little else to do, besides watch the mile markers go by.  Perhaps a bit of perspective upon things is not such a bad idea.  Although the trip was a bit expensive for my expenses today, I'd like to think it was worth it.

As usual, I would have preferred to do more, but events were such that it was necessary to cut it short.  Now, I am back, and the data situation should be okay.  But I need to keep an eye on whatever this is, or whoever this is.

Data spikes and what not

Just when you thought they had gone away, here they come again.  I won't make a big to-do about it this time.  Posting may be light until I get this under control.  Seems like you have to keep your guard up at all times with this thing.

It was a cold night last night, and I didn't sleep well.  I have been fighting an intestinal malady recently.  It was especially bad on Saturday evening and all day Sunday.  Monday was much better.  Tuesday, which was yesterday, started off okay.  However, a relapse occurred, and this seems like a problem again.

This morning is too early to say.  I really don't like to be tied down so much that I cannot do anything.

While I wasn't sleeping, I was thinking.  Thoughts are fleeting things.  What seemed so vivid at the time is now hard to recall.

Time is getting away from me.  Let's wrap this up quickly and move on.  Anyway, the thing I remembered thinking about was how easy it would be to fall into a type of fanaticism.  Do you know what I mean?  What I mean is that a fanatic has the need to believe something so much that he or she may become something of a monster.  A monster that is incapable of reason or limit.  The other thing about this is that so many people may be falling into that just because it really is so easy to do.

I don't believe that I am such a person.

Hannibal Lecter and Clarice Starling

Posted 2.26.11:

Reposted 2.12.19:

In one scene, as I recall, he asks her to think about the man she seeks.  "What does he do, this man you seek."  When she fails to answer correctly, he says "he covets, that is his nature".

That little snippet made me look up the word "covet" for its meaning.  It isn't just plain old envy.  No.  It is far more than that.  When someone covets, they want what the other has, PLUS they want to deprive the other person of their possession of that which is coveted.  Therefore, just giving them something of equivalent value is not enough for them.

Did you notice how the left likes to take possession of that which was once a part of traditional America?  The Boy Scouts, for instance.  It is not enough to create a youth movement for homosexuals.  Nope.  That is not enough.  What they desire is not only to possess that which does not belong to them, but to deprive the other of that which they possess.  Therefore, those who are not homosexual are not to have what was once the Boy Scouts, you see.

The same pattern can be found throughout.  It is not enough to take what was once America's and make it a property of others.  No.  That would not be enough.  If it were, then for the most part, most of the world already has about everything else America had once before.  Nope.  That won't do.  They gotta deprive Americans of what made this country what it was--- which made it great.

Think of that and then think of what AOC is talking about these days.  Greatness is not in them, but that is not the point.  They want to make sure that YOU will never see those days again.

the original post....

Now here's something interesting. The fascinating thing about the Hannibal Lecter Clarice Starling characters was the relationship between the two. He's trying to corrupt the pure Clarice and bring her into his world. He's trying to "Open" her eyes and see things the way he does. By doing so, he could make her the same as he. That is what happened in the book, from what I understand. It is not clear that this was going to happen from watching the movies though. For Lecter to corrupt Clarice would be too much for the mass audience to accept.

O'Rourke

You have heard of the erstwhile Senatorial candidate from the state of Texas, a state which the Occasional Cortex wants to send back to Mexico, haven't you?

This guy and AOC are supposed to be the future of a country whose continued existence is in doubt, it seems.

Some folks note that his first name was Robert, and he was known as such in High School.  Perhaps he didn't wear blackface, but he did acquire a Latino nickname, even though he is Irish.

So, what could you call O'Rourke that is in keeping with who he is?  You know, that doesn't seem to mean much these days.  For example, you could be born male, but if you imagine hard enough, and wish it hard enough, you can be a girl.  What a concept.

Well, if you wish hard enough to be Latino, can you become Latino?  Probably not.  Better hurry being President too, because there may not be much left of the USA before AOC gives it all away.  After all, the white man stole their land that they immigrated to from the land the land they didn't want anymore.  Maybe the white man can go there?

So, O'Rourke wants to be Latino when he grows up, but he can't, because he wasn't "born that way".  Only those that are "born that way" can be Latinos, and be President of a country which should not exist, because it was stolen from the real Latinos ( according to AOC).  Therefore, we can call him "Paddy" O'Rourke.  Paddy is a noble name for an Irishman, which is good, because O'Rourke is from a rich family.

But AOC says rich folks can't be rich no more.  What happens to all their money?  I'm sure they can use it to build some fast trains that go all over a country that no longer exists.  After this glorious day arrives, we can be proud of our country that no longer exists.

By the way, if there are any monuments to this country, they must be destroyed.  You certainly don't want that country to be great again.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: 'Reconquistador!'

Comment:

Yes, I saw what the author is referring to.  AOC is definitely a hard leftist.  Perhaps she is the hardest leftist that I have heard of.  Update: ( There needs to be a clarification here.  She is the hardest leftist ever elected that I have heard of.  Bernie Sanders wouldn't latch on to this issue, if I am not mistaken. )

This business of the "reconquista" is an outright aggression against this country.  It should not be countenanced, and to do so invites trouble.

Indeed, nobody can even speak of it in polite circles...

Quote:
...this threat to the U.S.A. "must not be named" in polite establishment political company.  This truth is treated as a conspiracy theory.

Again, I ask ---- "Why is anybody obligated to agree with the leftists about anything?
"  Could it be just another manifestation of the Grievance Scam?

The problem of succession

Just read an article on that subject with respect to the ancient Romans.  This seems to be a common problem, especially in large organizations and governments--even to this day.  It is critical that good leaders be found, as this will ensure the continuity of the organization in perpetuity, provided that it is done correctly.

A bit of searching revealed some best practices for businesses.

I noted the part that mentioned regular talent reviews.  Reminds me of the NFL draft.  If it is anything like the NFL draft, it isn't foolproof.  Professional baseball uses farm teams.  Perhaps it is best to have some way to evaluate leadership potential before handing over the reins.

The idea occurred to me that some form of this could become a means by which to select leaders in government.

The current system of elections seems to have a flaw in it.  Generally speaking, it seems almost ripe for conflict that could lead to civil war.  It has already happened once in American history.

Considering the phony investigation of Trump, would it have been better to come up with somebody different?  Certainly not Hillary, though.  I don't think Trump deserved this, and he may well be the best person for the job.  However, partisan politics has gotten out of hand.  We should want good leaders from a process that would be hard to corrupt in any way.

The current system seems like it could be improved upon.  But not with direct elections.  The use of the Electoral College should be retained.  There should not be a King or Queen.  It should be somebody that will be respected, and who will be a reliably good head of state.

The occasional check what the other side is saying

As I mentioned before, there is a blog on the left that I check out once in awhile.

A few bullet points:

  • Going after the Baptists.  They have managed to infiltrate the Catholic Church, so it is now time for them to go after the Baptist Churches as well, I suppose.  The idea is discredit Christianity so as to convert everyone to anything but Christianity.
  • Short shrift given to their Virginia problem.  The answer of course , is more of the hair of the dog that bit them.  There is no entity that gains as much from racial spoils as the Democrats.
  • Claiming credit for the economic boom of today.  It was Obama himself who said that the jobs were never coming back, and economic growth as good as today's would require a magic wand.
  • A little taste of how they are going to attack Trump going forward.
As for any attacks, they are shooting themselves in the foot with this Mueller investigation.  It will show nothing, but it has been successful in regaining the House.  The only reason they got this much was from weakness from within the GOP, which should have done a better job in the first two years.

Politics ain't beanbag, though.  The thing here is that their greatest success is getting so-called conservatives to play their game.  Hence, the loss of the culture continues pretty much unabated.

Why is anybody obligated to believe these people?

I wonder if anyone has noticed a pattern amongst the lefties of choosing topics and causes which is hard for anybody to oppose?

For example, the first black president--- Barack Hussein Obama.  If you said anything critical of this individual, you would accused of being racist.

Another example, is Hillary Clinton.  If you opposed her, it could only mean that you were a misogynist bigot, or "deplorable".

Yet another is claiming an issue that, in truth, they care little about.  I am referring to the "rule of law".  If they cared anything about this, they wouldn't be running roughshod over it all the time.

The pattern goes on and on.  In fact, I'd say it is a continuing stratagem in order to compel silence and acquiescence to their will.  But why should anybody be obligated to believe them or to obey them?

The only reason to sheepishly comply with them is to avoid having a problem with them.  In other words, being intimidated by them.

It may be a tough thing to oppose people like this, but I think people had better learn how.

Interesting parallels

There is something very familiar about this:

Quote:
Jussie Smollett, 35, a star of the TV show, "Empire," said that he was attacked at 2 a.m. in the streets of Chicago by two men in MAGA hats who placed a noose around his neck. He said they threw bleach on him. He had a black eye from the encounter.

He said.

Nine days later, no one has corroborated his tale, video does not confirm it, and he refused to turn his cellphone into police.

The pattern follows the complaints against Kavanaugh, and the justification for the Mueller investigation.  There is no evidence to support the charges, but there it is anyway.  Furthermore, intimidation prevents anybody from doing anything about it.

Idiocracy equals leftism

The movie Idiocracy did not get much promotion.  I suspect that it didn't because it hit too close to the truth.  The truth is something that the leftwing just cannot deal with.

The thing that set me off on this rant is the report that polar bears are invading towns now, and that AGW is said to be the causeUpdate:  ( polar bears are not going extinct, they are not endangered )

I am sorry.  This is just so stupid.  It is like AOC's Green New Deal proposition.  There's a pattern here, and it is one of epic idiocy.

AOC was supposed to be educated, but she is a nincompoop.  What she does seem to know is a way towards political power.  You could dismiss her as an complete idiot, but the thing about leftism is that- although, it may appear to be idiotic- the politics of it seems to work a lot more often than it should.

Leftists prey upon the gullibililty of vulnerable people.  The young are gullible, and one of their favorite targets.  The poor are gullible and sometimes desperate.  Yes, just about anyone can be vulnerable at some point or in some situations.  In such cases, someone posing as a knight in shining armor can come running to your rescue.  It seems that people fall for that.  The leftists are posing as these proverbial knights, but they are like a villainous Pied Piper.

But when it comes to AGW, there is nothing but a manufactured problem.  The left engineers its solutions so that only they can solve what only they can see.  How convenient.

In the meantime, they degrade culture and civilization, and drive the entire existence toward mind numbing idiocy.  Yep, we are on that path.  Not only this country, but this report was from Russia.   It is everywhere.
