How much energy to get water from atmosphere?

Can this be calculated?

There was a thought about this yesterday, but I gave it up when I realized how much energy would be required.

For the record, I wanted to use a rough guesstimate of the energy requirement from this BTU calculator.

Next thing, I wanted to use relative humidity figures.  But that is not useful, or so I found out.  It so happens that air will not hold that much water per cubic meter.  Furthermore, to lower the temperature to dew point, as would be required in order to condense it, would take an enormous amount of energy.

Therefore, the BTU calculation would not be useful.  But the volume of air calculation would be.

Just for grins, I plugged in one cubic meter for the volume.  I got this:

At one hundred degrees farenheit, and twenty per cent humidity, the dew point would be fifty degrees less, or about fifty degrees.

Interesting.  That would mean that you could get condensation using only 650 watts.  How much water is the question.  The device mentioned in a previous post said just short of three liters per twelve hours.  That's a liter every four hours.  Not much water.  That would require two and a half kwh.   That's quite a bit of juice for just one liter.

I could try this experiment in the desert, but if this is what I could expect, it may not be worth it.

When liars lie

Sharyl Attkisson:  When "incidental" intel collection --- isn't incidental

summary:  Basically, the US gov't can spy on anybody, and make it look legit

In other words, they can lie about it.   Whenever the claim is that Obama and the Dems didn't spy on Trump, they are lying.

The media is covering it up, meaning that they are lying, too.

It is now so over the top that it should be obvious.  But I don't know that it truly is, given the continued popularity of leftism.

Solar-Powered Device Pulls Water Out of Thin (And Pretty Dry) Air

Solar-Powered Device Pulls Water Out of Thin (And Pretty Dry) Air: The device could be an affordable way to harvest water from air in under-developed, arid regions

comment:

It  can pull out 2.8 liters in 12 hours at 20 per cent humidity.  Impressive.  However, it may work better at night, when the relative humidity is higher.  But the sun doesn't shine at night.  duh

Update:

My ignorance of these concept may be showing, provided that one is familiar with the terms.  So, I started googling the terms.  Actually, the amount of water that the air can hold is quite small in terms of its volume.  Therefore, in order to gather up much water, you must have a large volume of air.  This isn't necessarily new to me, at least on a intuitive basis.

You need to have a device outside, is what I am saying.

Report: FISA Warrant Obtained by FBI to Surveil Former Trump Adviser, Carter Page

comment:

Maybe they are missing the point.  Even if the surveillance was justified, leaking of their names was against the law.

Anyway, maybe this thing isn't dead yet.  Lol.

The Democrats have committed to overthrowing our government

That's what "Resistance" means.  It is a coup against the US Constitution.  If they cannot get one peacefully, then they will engineer a revolution instead.

When Obama spied upon Trump, it was an attempted coup.  But note how quiet the GOP is in the wake of this Syria attack.  Indeed, if they do not crack down on this, they will be complicit in the upcoming violent coup.  They are being too quiet about this attempted coup.

Do you people really believe that, under this political paradigm, that another GOP nominee could be elected president of the United States?  Unless the GOP changes the way it does business, the hard left will take over.  Even if they nominate a guy that the Establishment hates, like Trump, then the hard left will delegitimize him, and cause so much civil disturbance that a change in government just might take place.

That's what "Russia-gate" really means.  It must be exposed and the hard left relegated to the dust bin of history.

Globalists and neo-cons are winning

Frankly, the new found silence on the Russian collusion BS could mean that Trump has been flipped.

When they start approving of Trump, Trump must be doing something wrong.

Trump got elected because he appealed to the more traditional Americans, not the globalist neo-con faction.  It is precisely that faction to which traditional Americans have become suspicious.  If Trump can't figure this one out, he won't be re-elected.

Not only that, I suspect that the GOP will go the way of the Whigs.  It should be evident to anybody that the GOP likes playing second fiddle to the left and the Dems.  They aren't very interested in crafting a political majority that can win elections consistently.

Why would they be interested in doing that, as long as the loyal voters stay with them?  That's why the heat needs to be put on them that this loyalty can no longer be taken for granted.

This bears watching.

Schiff giving GOP the Shaft

According to this article, which is a good article by the way.

The GOP types are breathing a sigh of relief, it seems.  Now that the crickets are chirping with respect to the Russian collusion BS, there is not a scintilla of interest in how it got so quiet all of a sudden.

The operation has been successful.  The Dems have deflected from the real issue, which was Obama's wiretapping of a political opponent for partisan reasons.  Now that the deflection is no longer useful to them, or even necessary, it is no longer being employed.

One thing is certain, a law was violated.  One other thing is probably certain, is that the GOP will do nothing about it.

Media Eats Crow After Distorting Sessions’ Speech on Immigrants

Media Eats Crow After Distorting Sessions’ Speech on Immigrantse

comment:

The "media" here includes the Wall Street Journal.  They completely misrepresented what he said.

By the way, something I want to point out again and again.  The GOP is blamed for being for Wall Street, but Wall Street doesn't seem to like the GOP.  The big corporations are not necessarily supportive of the GOP despite what the GOP does for it.   So, why help corporations?  It doesn't make a whole lot of sense, unless they are buying off the GOP.

How do they do it?

The Russian-gate non-scandal scandal story has evaporated into thin air.  Isn't anybody the least bit interested in how this happened?

I'm still not seeing any stories on it anywhere.

There ought to be an investigation.  This means something, by golly.

Lose Bannon, lose the country

Bannon must return to policy dominance in the White House or

Trump loses

comment:

There seems to be drift towards Establishment junk, which got us into this mess in the first place.

Trump needs to lose that.

Obligatory, 4.11.17

Once again, I am short on words.  No ideas for posts.

Then again, there's ideas, but I squelch them before starting on writing anything.  Not much way to get much posting done, but there it is.

For instance, I wanted to explore some religious ideas after that Shroud of Turin post, but then I might get lost in the weeds.  Frankly, I just don't know that much about the subject because I don't really have the interest enough to get educated on it.  So, maybe it is better to remain silent and appear stupid, than to open one's mouth, and remove all doubt.

As for the navel gazing part, it seems like the doc wants me not to eat for most of the day.  I can't eat for 12 hours before treatment.  It seems like there's a problem with my gut, since it wants to produce emissions that are most unwelcome during treatment.   Well, at least the EPA hasn't banned me yet.

I can actually eat, but the list is so inclusive of everything I like, that I may as well not eat at all.  This will be a challenge.

Things seem to be well, but this diet part makes me worry a bit.  But we will soldier on, as the saying goes.

Russians still like this word

But you can't say it anymore in thus country.  (Unless you are a Democrat.)

Will "Russia-gate" be swept down into the memory hole?

All of a sudden, there is near silence about the so-called Russian influence over the last election.

Are we now to being told to forget it, and move on to the next yammer point?  In that case, Big Brother Media is now saying like Gilda Radner would say: "never mind".  Better forget it, as the new yammering points are now to take center stage.

Perhaps the new talk will be about Ivanka Trump.  I can't for the life of me understand why this woman seems to be the focal point of these people's nuttiness.

They started boycotting her businesses and so on.   Well, if Russia-gate can't sink the Trumpster, maybe Ivanka-gate can.  She's guilty by association, I would gather.  Anybody who was born of Trump's genes must be highly suspect of something.

It is a diversion from the real crime of treason, in my opinion.  It is treason because the previous administration was and is at war with this country and its Constitution.

The Constitution is King.  All public figures must swear to defend it against all enemies -- foreign and domestic.  If somebody tries to cause a coup against the legally elected president, then he is guilty of treason; because that is making war against the head of state, who is legally empowered to hold that office.  Undermining the peaceful transfer of power is key to undermining what is left of the rule of law.  If the president is forced out of office by illegal means, by him whose job it is to defend it, then how can the structure stand?  A house divided against itself cannot stand.

The discussion about this cannot be swept under the rug and into the memory hole.  There must be accountability for this crime.

Shroud of Turin

A much advertised show about the shroud was on the History channel last night.  Aside from the many commercials, it seemed to offer a rebuttal of why the shroud may have been older than what the carbon dating showed in previous tests.

But that wouldn't make any difference, you know.  For believers, it wouldn't.

The history of the shroud was traced all the way back to the crucifixion.  If I am not mistaken, there were some gaps in the history of it.

It seems that the shroud's existence can still not be explained. That is the thing that has always impressed me. For the technology of the middle ages certainly couldn't produce something like this.  It's secrets are still being discovered even today.

One thing that I had noticed before was about how some type of light created the image on the cloth, and why it would have had to have come from inside the body itself.  There is no explanation of how that could have happened.  After some discussion, it was decided that there was some type of instruction for making the three dimensional image.  Theoretically, the light would have had to have sliced up and reproduced the image in the same manner as a modern copier does.  This seems to have been confirmed and a three dimensional image of Jesus was produced successfully.  The show ended with a visual representation of how Jesus would have looked like back then.

I don't know if this would pass muster amongst the scientific community.  The show seems to have had a bias toward belief in the authenticity of the shroud.  If the folks who produced this were indeed biased, then there may have been some errors in their presentation.

Perhaps there will be some more discussions in the future.

Why did the Obama Administration mislead us about Syrian chemical weapons?

Susan Rice claimed that Syria was purged of these types of weapons.  Why say that if she knows that it wasn't so?

Note that it was Rice who also claimed that it was a video that caused the attack on Benghazi.  Not only did Rice say that, so did Hillary.

Furthermore, it was also Rice who unmasked the identities of Americans as a part of the current Russian election hacking claims.

Is there a common thread that runs through these events?

Syria is a client of Russia and Iran.

Russia, Iran, and radical Islamists:  each of these are committed enemies of the US.  Why help them?

Is Susan Rice running interference for our enemies, and why is she doing that?

Rice was one of Obama's closest advisors.

What was Obama up to, and why was he so obsessed with Trump?
