Police Abduct 10 Children From A Family In Kentucky Because Of Their "Off The Grid" Lifestyle

Sleepy head

Must have been a tough week.  Went to Discount Tire and got the tire fixed.  It was a nail, and it made a slow leak.  That really didn't take all that long.  Got home and promptly went into the Rip Van Winkle mode.  I slept through most of today.  As a consequence, I won't be doing any more van shopping, and I'll probably skip the trip to the office to sign the lease.

But I did touch ground with a couple more vans on the internet.  There are vans there that MIGHT fill my requirements, but there does appear to be a problem with getting just the right one.  No dice on either one of those.  Besides, I'm out of time for that project, so I'll leave it alone for now.

It does seem more economical to just build structures than to change vans.  I keep forgetting that I completed one structure already, and already have what I'm looking for.  What I'm looking for is floor space in which I can stand up.  The quonset already does this.  I didn't use it for that purpose while out there because it wasn't really finished yet.

I need to make a trip out there to check on it and see how it's holding up.

Rise and Shine, 5/9/15

Reveille!  Drop your pencils and grab your socks, or is it drop your socks and grab your pencils?  Oh, you know what I mean.

That line cracks me up.  The joke was on Laugh In some 40 years ago.

It's getting late in the morning already.  Slept in, so now I gotta move, or the whole day goes down the crapper.

First thing on the list is my tires.  One of them is leaking air.  That's probably worth a couple hours right there.  Or I could forget about my tire warranty and have it fixed elsewhere.  Afraid not, it's back to Discount Tire.

Sometime today, I'm going to have to go by the office and sign a new lease.  Not thrilled about that, but it has to be done.  I'll be committed to staying here for at least another 10 months.

I'm considering a try at a bargain for the van I looked at yesterday.  But to get it, I'm certain I'll have to pay a lot more than what I should for it.  One thing to consider:  Is this thing really worth that much to me?  Why not build more quonsets if you need floor space?  The quonsets are cheaper.  But it ain't cheap to do all those other things that have to go along for the ride.  It's not an easy call.  Another thing to consider is that I'll have to work out of it.  There's no room for two vans around here.  A bargain will have to consist of a trade.
Hey!  Look over there.  Gotcha!  Bwah hah hah.

Home again, 5/8/15

It may seem that I'm lagging here.  Sorry about that.

The boss let me off early, so I went van shopping.  There was a vehicle that I saw earlier this week that interested me, so I took the time to go check it out.

I didn't test drive it nor start it.  I did look it over, and it did seem to look like something I could use.  So, I went back home and carfaxed it.  That looked okay, so I blue booked it.  Ah.  A problem.  The place wants way, way too much money for it.

So, if I want this van, chances are that I will have to pay way too much for it.

Too bad.

Regular schedule resumes

Yeah.  But I'm getting a late start all the same.  It's been a grueling week.  The good thing about it is that I made some money these past two weeks.

The blogging thing?  Well, I don't know.

The left seems triumphant over its perceived victory over the right in this country.  That's my take on my scan of the news this morning.  Hillary is all but crowned.  How can she lose, they say.  Indeed.  If things were judged correctly, a lot of these people would be on the end of a rope.  Instead, they are leading the nation over the abyss.

Despite the lack of blogging, I've been thinking.  One thought that occurred to me yesterday is how the state has overtaken the church.  That's not supposed to happen in this country---First Amendment anyone?  The rhetoric is that we should fear a "theocracy", but that's not what we had before the cultural Marxists took over.  Instead, we get a "theocracy" from the left that worships government as its god.  Now we are going to get even more of the same with this same sex marriage ruling.  Yep, they will probably do this, as stupid and insane as it is.  I believe they will do it because that is the trajectory of events that have been going on for a long time now.  The church used to inform us as to what was right and what was wrong.  That is what religion did, but not anymore.  The state has assumed that function.  The state has usurped the church even though they were forbidden to do so by LAW.

What is to stop a government when it refuses to follow its own laws?  It is running out of control.  We are on a long slippery slope running straight to the hellfire of this world--- a totalitarian system in which people will not be free to live their own lives according to their own conscience.  Because that is what we had before, but what we don't have anymore.  If you aren't a believer in left wing causes, you are an evil person.  You have run afoul of their church, and are trodding upon their sacred beliefs.  They will sic their equivalent of the Inquisition upon you, you can be assured of that.

The evil is upon us.  It has turned the world upside down.  What was good is now evil and what was evil is now good.

What a way to start the day, huh?

Could this be the war that some are talking about?

When The Elites Wage War On America, This Is How They Will Do It

Fall of Saigon, 40 years ago

Who won? Judging from the results today, communism lost.

But what I didn't know is that the military defeat of the South was completely unnecessary.  My impression was that the South wouldn't fight.  This article says that they couldn't fight because America wouldn't supply them with the supplies that they needed.  But when they could fight, they did fight, and they fought well.

Vietnam is how the far left got their foot in the door in this country.  Yet it was all unnecessary.  A victory there would have made a difference.  Yet, even a defeat didn't help the far left.  Why can't they be defeated here, for heavens sake?

Preaching to the choir

That's all that's happening now.

Nobody takes heed of another's words, then the words stop, and something else happens.

That something else may take many forms.  Sullen acceptance, or a violent lashing out are two possibilities.

Conservatives are preaching to the choir.  The only ones listening are those who are predisposed to your point of view.  The left won't heed your words.  They'll just ignore you or walk all over you.

So, how's it gonna be?  Sullen acceptance?  Or are you willing to really DO something.

It looks like sullen acceptance to me.  These guys aren't going to do anything.

They think that preaching to the choir is doing something.

Want to get away? Here's a possibility to do so...

Trip to Saturn Anyone?

Lenny Kravitz's "I want to get away song" comes to mind.  Your big chance to make this happen might come true.

Or maybe somebody is just high on something.  Yuk, yuk

Sun Tsu and why we are losing the war on terror

Sun Tsu said that you must know your enemy and yourself if you are to prevail.  We seem to know neither.

If we knew ourselves, we'd know that we are being targeted, not only from without, from within.  Those who are targeting us ( meaning western civilization ) are anti-white.  It is anti-white because the white people are the ones who made western civilization.

One way to target white people is to slow down their reproductive rates.  Fewer white people means fewer soldiers.  More non-white people means more soldiers for their enemy.  It is no accident that the enemy is trying to stir up the non-white people in revolt against the white people who still rule.

One way to slow down reproductive rates is abortion.  Another way is same-sex marriage.  If you recognized this, you would stop it.  But you won't, and that's why we are losing, and will continue losing as long as things like this continue.

It's why the election of a black man simply because he is black reveals your own self-hatred.  This is not knowing yourself.  If you knew yourself, you'd have more self-respect.

Nothing wrong with a black man in the White House if said black man was loyal to our civilization.  The one we have now is most decidedly NOT.  He is an enemy of western civilization.  No question in my mind.  Never has been any question in my mind about that one.  Everything that is happening is entirely predictable.

Everyone in the world knows this except your average duped white man.  So they will passively stand by while their civilization is destroyed--- piece by piece.

Honestly, what is motivating these people?

A short blurb on Instapundit and a quote that makes the observation that seems incongruent.  The incongruent thing about in my opinion is why do people put up with it?  Putting it in another way:  how is it that the politicians avoid accountability?  Nobody makes people vote for these scumbags.  How do the politicians keep their hold on people?  If it is the "worst political class in American history", then why don't people boot them out?  Why do people keep voting for failures?

Military takeover of Texas

The first I heard of that was on the left wing blog I monitor sometimes.  Huh?  What's all this?

Anyway, if something like that was really going down, I would have a different take on it from Norris, who said:

"Concerned Texans and Americans are in no way calling into question our brave and courageous men and women in uniform," Norris wrote. "They are merely following orders.

Nope.  Can't agree with that statement at all.  Nazis who ran extermination camps were just following orders, too.

Texas is peaceful and orderly.  If the government took over Texas, anyone who participates in that illegal act is responsible as far as I'm concerned.  And I will definitely fight them if they do.

Shooting in Garland

Everybody is focused in on that, but the same sex ruling is what they should be focused on.  Look, the country will fall because it is weak inside, not because the enemy is strong.  That's what happened to the Roman Empire.  Hell, even the Roman Empire didn't have same sex marriage.

If the country was strong, we'd have nothing to worry about with respect to the muslims.  Besides, they wouldn't even be attacking.  The reason they attack is that they sense weakness.

Home again, 5/4/15

The extra hour and a half made this day seem mighty long.

Ah, the relaxation of the the recliner ( my second home ), and a cold drink.  Kick up my feet and just relax.  Ahhhhhhhhhh.

One of the other drivers remarked on how slowly I move.  Yes.  I have to move slowly so I won't injure my fragile little self.  As Steve Martin would say "Well, excuuuuuuuuuuuuse me!".

It felt pretty warm today.  But the high was only 82.  This is May.  About time for it to shoot on up there into the nineties and stay there until October, or even November.  That's Houston weather.  Only 82.  That's nothing.

I'm pretty much played out on my diatribe against same sex marriage.  Sure, there could be a lot more to say, but it won't make any difference.  These people are going to do what they want to do even if it is supremely stupid.

It's not up to me to come up with the arguments that the opposition to make.  Except there is no real opposition in this country.  They won't do it even though it is the only reason they even exist.  People sit there expecting them to be an opposition and they continually fail to do it.  Why?  Who the f*Sk knows?  Maybe they are being bought off.  Simplest explanation and so it may be the best.

If they are really being bought off, then all arguments are in vain.  It's the Golden Rule.  He who has the Gold makes the rules.

I'm going to go watch another bio about an actress.  This time Barbara Eden.

A few odds and ends

Well, in order to keep up the traffic, I am obliged to continue putting up material.  The appetite of the medium is insatiable.

One thing I did with my time over the weekend was to look at some biographical videos of actresses.  What got me started was this thing with Bogart and Bacall.  So, I checked into Bacall's biography.  Bacall led to Natalie Wood and Vivien Leigh.

There was this discussion about how beautiful Vivien Leigh was.  Funny, I didn't think she was so beautiful at all.  She seemed to have rather small teeth.  It seems to be a flaw to me.  Now Natalie Wood was absolutely beautiful.  Bacall?  Not so much.

Beauty may well be in the eye of the beholder.  Others will have different opinions.

As for Vivien Leigh, she did appear to be Scarlet O'Hara.  Thus, what kind of acting did she really have to do in order to be the character that she played on the screen?

Now for the men:  the only one I did any reading about was Jimmy Stewart.  Now, that fella could act.  His portrayal of Scottie in Hitchcock's masterpiece, Vertigo, was itself a masterpiece of acting.  He was "Everyman" in that video, which means he was a common type.  But there wasn't anything common about Jimmy Stewart.  If there is any nobility in America, this guy was IT.

Okay, that's enough filler for today.

This week's schedule

Today through Thursday will require an early start.   I will have to get to work by 5 am.  Normally, I get in at about 6:30, so the schedule moves up about an hour and a half.

Time is already short, and now it is getting shorter.  Nothing to do, but to "suck it up" and get it done.

It may be hard to put up posts with this going on.  I haven't been posting all that much as it is.

Actually, it is getting harder to post.  The stuff going on out there is just plain crazy.  What can you say about that?

This past weekend wasn't productive.  I spent all my time cogitating over this idiotic Supreme Court decision coming up.  Perhaps it would have been better spent on continuing work on my move out West.  I haven't signed a new lease.  I even considered that it may be better to go out there and try it again, even though I know I'm not ready.  But that too would be crazy.

It may get harder and harder to keep things together, if you know what I mean.  Such is the world today.

Marriage equality? Not so.

Same sex marriage is being cast in the light of injustice, the injustice of unequal treatment when equality is guaranteed before the law.

But the law doesn't guarantee equality at all.  If so, then convicts are treated equally, right?   But they are not, nor should they be.  Convicts are convicts because they violated the law and are punished for it.  If the law is unjust, the conviction should be removed, but if the law is just and the conviction is just, the forfeiture of equality is just.

Why should homosexuals be considered equal as a group?  No homosexual union can produce children in the way that a heterosexual union can.  If it cannot produce children, then how is it that the union should be considered equal?  Inasmuch as the union cannot produce children, isn't it in the interest of society not to encourage such unions, and encourage heterosexual unions instead?  Societies cannot exist without children, yet this type of union precludes such an outcome.  Why encourage it?  Why should a society commit suicide?

But one may object:  homosexuals can have children through artificial means.  That may be true, but their physical act cannot.  One has consider that the only motivation for the union is to have "moral" sex, because if it is legal, it must be "moral".  Morality isn't synonymous with law anyway, but that is what at least some of these people are looking for--- legitimacy.  Being legitimate may be considered as being just as good.  But they are already "legit".  Nobody is going to put them in jail for their sexual practices.

If they are looking to gain approval from society, this won't necessarily work.  It may do the exact opposite.  People may feel imposed upon if it runs counter to their own beliefs.  You may try to force someone to "love" you, but may just end up with the opposite.

The so-called leaders think this type of decision may make them appear enlightened, but that too is a mistake.  Frankly, I think it makes them look ridiculous.  That's because they cannot do even the slightest bit of reasoning, which is what I did here.

Our leadership looks more and more ridiculous by the day, in my opinion.

Cat's In The Cradle

What made me want to post this?  It was a hit song at about the time I graduated from high school.  This would be in the early-mid seventies.

Why is the timing important?  Well, the song is kind of a tribute to fathers.  It is also a bit of a sad song in that Dad is often away and can't spend a lot of time with his kids.  In this song, the son is not resentful of this, and actually strives to be just like Dad, and so he was.  People identified with the song and that's what made it a hit, I believe.

These days, the culture has changed.  Just read some of comments.  It is actually worse to read through some of it because you know what's coming with that Supreme Court decision.   The culture has ruined the young men in this country.  Not to mention the young women.

Perhaps Dads should have been around more.  It would have done some good.  We may be about the lose the country because of it.

Chasing that fame and fortune has a price.

"It's not our way", "but, it's my way"

"Not good for the tourist trade, you know"!  "Tell that to your Ohio friend"!

Is there another way to handle a situation like that?  I was thinking about that just now.  What if "Book" just stood there and let him even hit him.  Or dared him to hit him.  But not to retaliate.  Just to show that he wasn't afraid of anything that he could do to him.  Sort of like in the movie Gladiator.
