The Democrats like to throw odium upon anybody who denies their pet theories, like Glowbull Warming. It's part of the politics of "shut up". Nobody can criticize their perfect and lofty concern for the welfare of others. /sarc
So those like Trump are called Covid "deniers". But Trump has not been on an adversarial tear against this so-called "pandemic". He has competed with the Dems for who's best at attacking it. It isn't really an adversarial process, it is a competition for who can bullshit the subject the best.
The truth isn't best served by such a process. The court system uses an adversarial process in order to arrive at a verdict. So when the Democrats call Trump a COVID "denier", as usual they are full of it. It would be more like Perry Mason stuff if he was a "denier".
There is a great political risk though in being adversarial. It is putting all your eggs in one basket, so to speak. If Trump were to go after COVID-19 with hammer and tongs, he might lose that fight. If he lost that fight, he could lose the election. It could be disastrous.
People might blame Trump for not being more adversarial, but this isn't likely to be the best political strategy. Too risky politically. Unfortunately for us, we have to have someone supply us with an opposition line. This has to go against the Democrats demogogueing the phony issue. They have the money and the bullhorns to go with their bullshit. Those of us who want to question it only have the truth. May not be a fair fight.
But if the Democrats were really interested in the public good, they would stop politiczing COVID-19. This is what made me suspicious of the whole phenomenon back during the early days of this.
We have to get through the politics of COVID-19. Whatever COVID-19 is, it isn't going to be found in the political process. Quite the contrary. The politics may be worse than the so called "pandemic".
