Just when you thought you were smarter than the average bear...

You find out that you're late to the game. This is in relation to my skin-suit posts of late. Somebody in the comments section of this Instapundit post already thought it up, or was clearly on track to do that.

Anyway, the post also revealed a few things I hadn't heard about... The Zizians! What a name! Anyway, the Zizians are real wackadoodles.

Following the thread a bit deeper into the comment section gets you a lengthy scoop about these Zizians.

I still like my skin-suit posts, even if it was already out there in at least its formative stages.

Mass shooters on psychotropic drugs

... and they're LEGAL... I have a theory that this gun-control push is really a "look squirrel!" attempt to get people not to look at a real problem that is at the heart of this kind of violence. It has nothing to do with guns.

Dick Morris also points out that Big Pharma got the okay to advertise on TV in 1997, when Slick Willy was in the White House. Morris accuses the Democratic aligned Media at covering this up.

Mass Shooters Often Are On Legal Drugs The Media Misses – Lunch Alert!

Also, I remember reading a bit about this yesterday on the Minnesota shooter. A commenter noted the effects of drugs she was taking in connection with her treatment for breast cancer. Same drugs are used on transexuals like this shooter, is what I got out of it. [Sorry, but I've already forgotten how to access that thread, so I cannot link to it here.]

The point is that a lot of these shooters may have been stopped a long time ago, but the Democrats are hiding this truth from the public, and are pushing guns as a way to distract people away from knowing a true cause and effect between these shootings and their own policy preferences.

It's EVIL.

Federal Appeals Court Rules 7-4 IEEPA Tariffs Unlawful, Decision Qualifiers and Narrow Application - Tariffs Remain Pending SCOTUS Review

The Conservative Treehouse

Pres. Trump responds on Truth Social:

Comment:

If it is about the international corporations, then it would seem that SOMETHING could be done about these as well as tariffs. If some of their corporate charters were to be pulled, and they could no longer be traded at the bourses, then it might get their attention.

Corporations are out of control. Leftist talk against corporations, but they actually LOVE corporations. In my opinion, corporations are not capitalism. It is a type of collectivism organized against freedom, as collectivism does do that, and corporations are by definition collectivist.

Does anybody really believe that by defending corporations that you defend freedom?

More on the Minnesota shooter

The thing that grabs me here is to refer to someone as "pure evil". But she looks harmless enough. You have to read through the replies to get a flavor of this.

I'm not a Catholic, so I won't comment on this too much. My recollection is that I read once that the Catholic Church would excommunicate members who did unapproved things. What she did certainly does seem to be unapproved, or should be. This is not something that Catholics should be doing, this so-called "gender-affirming" care thing. It should be totally forbidden. Otherwise, it is gravely sinful. Just my opinion based upon admittedly incomplete information.

The Church should not have employees who aren't in good standing. If this had been followed, the opportunity to do harm would have been reduced. Moreover, if this shooter had been properly handled, he would've been put in an insane asylum, and maybe in a straight jacket. Such a person is a danger to himself and to others. Again, just my opinion.

Finally, the system in Minnesota has a great deal of responsibility here... There is a very good reason for the liberals to be frantically trying to change the subject to gun-control. The full faith and credit clause of the Constitution makes this a Federal Issue, and should be taken up by the courts. A conservative leaning Court SHOULD strike down the Minnesota law. But that isn't guaranteed. Of course, a liberal one would do the same as they did with all the other "skin suit" issues.

Angry Astronaut critiques the latest Starship test

This guy has an annoying tone, but he makes a few points I won't quibble with. One thing though, he asks if there's going to be accountability for SpaceX's tardiness? I have to answer it with another question: "hasn't that already been done? Didn't Blue Origin sue, and obtained a judgement that will allow them to compete with Starship? Maybe Angry is angling for a Blue Origin takeover of the Artemis Moon shot.

If so, then how is Blue Origin coming along? He claims that SLS is on target as far as the 2027 timeline is concerned. Can Blue Origin get their act together fast enough to replace SpaceX, and thus get it all done in 2027? If not, then who can do it?

It's not enough to be just critical here. How about some suggestions? Anyway, here's his video.

Sounds nicer in Italian

Henry isn't talking, and Tommy's mother tells a story.

Reminds me of something...

It must be really bad

In Hemmingway's book, "For Whom the Bell Tolls", it was said that the more you talk the more grave the situation was. The characters were in a guerrilla band in the Spanish Civil War, talking about an action afterwards. A matter of gravity in that situation would be a matter of life or death. So when something happens that was pretty bad, you could judge how bad it was by how much of a need to talk that there was.

This Minnesota thing must be pretty bad because I feel the need to post about it.

One thing that I noticed about these people--they seem to think you want to harm them, but they end up harming themselves and others. That's the trannies. But they've clearly lost their minds.

If someone is insane, they are considered less responsible. Indeed, those who drive them to the point that they have gone completely bonkers, and are killing people; they are the ones more responsible. They should know better. In fact, the DO know better. The fact that the politicians have hidden this behavior before is evidence of a knowledge of guilt.

If wokism prevails, then you'd never hear about the fact that this was a tranny doing the killing, and if you asked about it, you might be arrested for "hatred".

Those who talk that way, like that Mayor in Minnesota did, are the most responsible parties. For that, politicians like that should be held accountable. Trannies should NOT go free. They need to be held because they are a danger to themselves and to others. It may be necessary to take other control measures too. Those who hold this up for political reasons are incurring political liability, and if justice prevailed, might well be held CRIMINALLY liable.

It's a trap!

A Kafka trap, that is. The following video describes what a Kafka trap is.

I found this concept through a route that started here with a ZeroHedge article, then proceeded to the comments. I'm all for learning new concepts.

Begun, the trans wars have

A little Yoda speak there. The political left doesn't care about the kids who were killed. They care about something else. If you are Christian or Catholic, you have to stop letting these people use you as a prop. If one of those kids were mine, I would reject the liberals so-called compassion. The left only wants to use these killings as props for their political goals. As I was saying before...

Update a little later:

Woof.

Money talks

The other walks...

Trolls need love too

Not much to say that hasn't been said before on this blog

8/28/25:

The Minnesota shooting is just another skin suit for the political left.

God, guns, and guts.  It's a three-fer.

Deception is at the core of leftism

Comment:

The left needs disguises. What better disguise than to pretend to be what you are not. Indeed, to be opposite of what you pretend to be, while fooling your victim into giving in to the deception. Hence, the liberals are trying to redefine the All-American type.

The leftwing All-American is 180 degree out of phase with what All-Americans used to be. Hence the need to redefine what Americanism really is. The left has to pretend to be All-American and patriotic, fully in tune with "rule of law", "democracy", and "freedom". But it is nothing of the sort.

This is communism trying to make a skin suit of what's left of America; and while doing it, claim it is what America actually wants.

When it comes to school-prayer, abortion, and same-sex marriage, these were all decided at the top-down level as opposed to bottom-up. There was no popular demand for any of these things. But we got them because the commies have hijacked the culture, and are ramming it into the ground.

The dead corpse of a free America that pretends to be still free, will be their skin-suit. It will be their trophy for their victory over the freedom. If America is about anything, is it not about freedom? Communism ain't that, and people ought to know better.

But the little froggie doesn't get boiled all at once.

Starship update, 8/26/25

8/26/25:

After a string of failures, SpaceX had a nearly perfect launch and splashdown today. This isn't a complete report, so there may be some facts missing. At this time, the major objectives appear to have been achieved. That being the booster test, which didn't schedule any catch attempt, the fully controlled ascent to engines cut-off, the deployment of the dummy cargo, the re-light of the Starship to prove orbital capability, and the splashdown.

There was some damage to the Starship upon its re-entry, but this didn't affect the final splashdown in any significant way. However, the final details are not obtained yet for the purposes of this post. All in all, this appears to have been a successful flight.

P.S.

I'd say, based upon the objectives listed in this article on ZeroHedge, that this was pretty damned closed to a unqualified success.

A day after video and analysis by Scott Manley:

The jab was never a vaccine, and it shouldn't be a revelation that it wasn't.

I bitched and bitched and bitched about it at the time. The vaccine was NEVER a vaccine and NEVER should have been called one. But it was. Now it is a revelation to some that it wasn't?

No wonder this country is so fouled up. The obvious thing could bite them on the ass, and they'd say it was Trump. They'd ALMOST be right, as Trump had something to do with the development of the vaccine. At least he didn't MANDATE it, because the commies stole the damned election.

There it is again

George Will did this, and now Robert Ringer. Do you leave New York to shoot itself in the head because they are better off dead? Mamdami can only win if the vote remains split against itself. His win would be a minority win, and a ridiculously small minority at that. New York is Democrat, but the Democrats cannot figure out who they are--- Americans or Communists.

Much work still needs doing

Trump's doing a good job, and it is distressing that so many people fail to appreciate that.  He fires the corrupt Fed governor, who is going to try to hold on.  What can you blame this on?  That so many folks don't realize the importance of getting rid of this person?  That this person seems to think she has ownership of her position?

Just went over to the Mahablog, which is leftist.  What I saw there appalled me.  It seems outlandish to accuse the President of being un-American when the political left wants to destroy what America actually IS.  Is this projection in the psychological sense, or projection in the criminally insane sense?

What's terrifying is that so many actually listen to this trash and believe it.  Large numbers of Democrats believe in socialism, which is everywhere and always a failure.

General Flynn has warned that Trump cannot do it all.  Indeed, but what CAN be done at this point.  We don't have the luxury of breaking up into separate nations.  One side has to prevail, as did on the issue of slavery.  Are we truly at that point?

What is the dividing point?  If it is the TRUTH, then how do you determine that and enforce it?  If people believe what they want, how is it ever going to be possible to unite on what the truth actually is?

There has to be a decision...

Smart question of the year

Why isn't Black Live Matters celebrating zero murders in DC lately?

Lite posting

Notice: This post should've been posted at the other blog because of its speculative nature. Consequently, any further posting on this subject will take place at that blog, not here.

8/24/25:

Doing some research. The rumors of the death of this blog have been greatly exaggerated.

8/25/25:

7:37 AM:

The research was to do further feasibility study of the Aldrin Cycler Concept in terms of cosmic radiation shielding. The whole thing is to be enclosed within a structure with no more mass than 100,000 tons. That much mass can be lifted to Low Earth Orbit (LEO) with the Starship being developed by SpaceX. Assumption is that cost goals per launch will be met.

Propulsion to about 4.3 km/sec delta-v has already been discussed. Wouldn't that be enough delta-V to establish an Aldin Cycler orbit so that it will only have to be done one time? That question has yet to be discussed.

Cosmic radiation shielding gave me a few fits, but I think I have a proposition. Checking it out still. The good news is that I think FULL shielding may be possible for 100,000 people per cycle. The bad news is that the only way may be to put passengers in hibernation.

If I ever get around to posting my calcs, I will do that. At present, I have a busy day ahead with mundane stuff. No time for a lot of head scratching on this problem.

7:42 PM:

Nope.  I don't think it will work out for the 100k passengers.  Trouble is with the shielding not being as good as I thought it would be.   You couldn't put in as much shielding, and the half-thickness of iron isn't as good as I thought.  I figured it would be close to lead, but it isn't really.  Having to use lead is going to blow it up as a concept.   It also doesn't work quite the way I thought with gamma rays.

You could try it with fewer people...  But then you'd have to get 1 million on Mars some other way.

More Aldrin Cyclers, perhaps.  Disappointing.  I spent some time on this.

People are in a hurry

Me too. Michael Savage is a name from the past. He can talk, and he knows he can talk. So he talks about how he talks. It takes him a long time to get to the point, and it is valid, but he has just spent a lot of time saying something that he could have said in a lot less time. There is a word for this, I'm sure. Anyway, I'm embedding this just to warn you that you may agree with most of what he says here, but the meat of his discussion is likely buried under an avalanche of veribiage.

Red China is influencing election in the Big Apple

This kind of thing is being overlooked a lot. China is trying to interfere in our politics a LOT more than Russia ever thought about doing. The following story is but one example.
