Details of Blue Origin's recent launch

Scott Manley does the honors here.

Cowardice or extremism?

Extremism is not a very meaningful term. It probably fits in with the Marxist Paradigm of right v left. You aren't going to get that many people that afraid of Nick Fuentes of the "right", and the counterpart on the left. Cowardice is more meaningful, though. It is the habit of taking the easy way out, and refusing to confront a difficult situation.

Therefore, Fuentes is nothing. The inability or unwillingness to confront him is the problem, so I agree with the lady. The political left is monolithic in nature. I don't think cowardice is their problem. With the left, it is that they have a big problem with reality. They will do things to harm themselves because they think that it will further their own interests. Once again, the unwillingness of the so-called "right" to confront this in their poltical adversary, is the problem. Personally, I don't care if the left harm themselves, but I do care that they are confronted in such a way that they are deterred from doing really stupid things that harm us all.

It's not pretending. Using the word "pretend" is just a way not to confront them about their lying.

They know better. When they pretend not to, that's the lie.

Emails Between Kathryn Ruemmler and Jeffrey Epstein Resurface - Highlighting Again, Zero Epstein Dirt on Trump

Comment:

Sigh... Just telling the public these things won't change a thing. In principle, everybody knows this already. That's because the Democrats constantly lie.

Yep, everybody knows that there's nothing on Trump because if there was, the whole world would've known about it years ago.

But the Dems play these stupid games, and the so-called "right" keeps chasing down the lies, but it doesn't seem to faze the Dems when they get exposed. They just keep on doing it. There's no accountability because the GOP doesn't seem all that interested in holding them accountable. The recent shutdown drama is an example.

No "there" there

Dollar to a do-nut that the Epstein files won't hurt Trump. It won't hurt Dems either, because their standards are so low.

New Glenn successfully launches Escapade orbiters AND lands 1st stage

Comment:

SpaceX has a competitor! How 'bout that?

This will bear some watching. For now on, Blue Origin will get more attention here. (If I remember.)

Quick update:

There was some talk about using the Dragon to launch from the moon. In the comments section, there was a mention of the Falcon Heavy that it has the capability of putting a lot of mass on the Moon. Well hot dog if that's true. The Falcon Heavy could launch a return Dragon from the surface of the moon, and then use that to bring back the astronauts. You could land a Starship on the moon too, and all kinds of things.

Why should there be any problem at all in getting to the moon in a relatively short amount of time?

Another moment---another opportunity was lost

It appears that the GOP is content with always ceding ground to the Democrats. The shutdown narrative was that it was the Republican's fault, but we should know better. In one sense, the narrative is correct. That fault, dear Brutus lies with us after all. So all that we are left with is powerless complaints about the Democrats.

What was lacking was our own action. In order to do something about overgrown, out-of-control government, is to DO SOMETHING---not just complain.

The pain was increasing, but what was the response? To compromise--always compromise, meaning to always GIVE UP GROUND. The GOP gave back jobs and paid for no work.

The GOP promised to negotiate something un-negotiable. If the demand was to pay for illegals an ObamaCare subsidy, as the expiring ObamaCare subsidies did just that. After all, that what it was for. The demand wasn't about the regular ObamaCare subsidies--those woudn't have gone away. It was just for illegals that Biden pumped in by the millions. It was put into effect because of the COVID shutdowns as a cover story, which is yet another failure of the GOP--as the shutdowns were another GOP failure story.

As for air-traffic-controllers, they could be offered jobs in a new private business. Just set the damned thing up numbnuts!

For whatever pain the Democrats wanted to exploit, offer something that the private sector could handle. It is little wonder that the GOP has lost NYC. They always cave-in. The latest shutdown was no victory. The best you can say about it is that it wasn't too bad of a defeat. But it was a defeat, just the same. The Dems got away with something that should have hurt them, but it didn't.

Is the "Marketplace of Ideas" a fallacy?

At the American Reformer website, an argument is made that it is a fallacy. Reliance solely upon truth is idealistic. The world is run by vice, not virture. A society can strive towards virtue, but realistically cannot ever reach it. I think the striving is more important than the achievement of some sort of utopia. Unless people change, there will always be suffering.

Comment:

Precisely what I've been writing about over and over again. Good to see it get more coverage. Fact is, most of the legacy media plays that Marxism Paradigm like a Stradivarius. But too many on the so-called "right" refer to themselves that way, and that only plays into the Marxist's game.

New plans for SpaceX to land on Moon?

The video is a bit short on details. Does the Dragon land on the moon and then fly back to HLS in lunar orbit? It seems to be implied, but if it is the case, the Dragon will need a lot of fuel to get from lunar orbit and back to the HLS. The HLS would take the whole she-bang back to Earth, where the Dragon will separate and re-enter the atmosphere.

But the video doesn't say all that. It would still need some launches to support the Dragon part of the trip. Maybe the Falcon Heavy could do that. If so, why not launch from the Falcon Heavy with the astronauts, or from a regular Falcon 9? It could meet up with the Starship, and the crew could transfer over to the Starship for the journey to the moon. Then back again from the moon.

The point is that a lot of details are left off here. Besides, did SpaceX say that they were going to do it this way? I'm skeptical.

Never really cared for the PR of the shutdown politics

But if you did, this one fact alone should be convincing--- it was the
Democrats who put an expiration date on ObamaCare, not Republicans. The
GOP has lost an opportunity.

The importance of colonizing the moon

If ObamaCare is broken, who will fix it?

Maybe this is an opportunity to fix it, but I wouldn't bet the ranch
on that happening.

I'm sure everybody would like for something better, if there actually
is anything on the table that could improve the situation.

Trump wants to use the money from tariffs to help pay for things
such as healthcare, if a person wanted to use it that way.

A couple grand a year could help out around here, I tell you that.

Zero-Hedge: "At what point does this become treason?"

Link

Actually the quote in the title comes not from ZH, but from "DataRepublican" on X.

It all sounds about right to me, as this blog will testify to on many occasions. But what makes this different is that there is more than suspicion... there's lots of receipts.

Who blinked?

Shutdown politics

Comment:

If there's a plain thing here to object to, it is the re-hiring of laid-off government employees. It is a bit disappointing that there was no backup plans in case the shutdown lasted long---such as privatizing air-traffic-control. Getting food for people in need could've been coordinated better. The shutdown was not optimally run, so the results are not optimal by any stretch of the imagination. A lot of pain, and not much gain.

note @ 10:38 AM : obviously, there's an edit to the earlier comment. Practicing my html skills....

Both sides seem to be claiming victory. Not enough info in this story to make up my mind. Just saying for the record that I'm suspicious of the GOP Establishment.
