Tribute to June Lockhart, RIP

From theater to film to TV to streaming video, she was there. That and much, much more.

Demolition of the original launch mount

It will be replaced by a newer design. How long will this take? Probably from 6 months to a year. (my guess)

Wanna feel bad?

Here's your fix on being miserable right here in this video.

So America is already deep into the doom loop, eh?

There's solutions to these problems, but the real question is there a will to deal with them. The political left focuses on phony issues. If the focus changed on real issues, the solution could be put into effect.

So I've been saying the whole time since I began this blog.

Looks like the real civilization killer is in the minds of the people of those places. That's what needs to change. There are good signs, but will it be enough?

Mineral wealth tied up in regulatory red-tape

Help is on the way, though. By the way, if all the US's assets could back the greenback, then why borrow money and pay interest? Interest payments cost the government a trillion dollars plus each year. You eliminate that, and you eliminate a lot of budget problems.

I feel fine

Just turn off the news, I 'spose.

You think the stupidity ended when Trump was sworn in?

Just one thing I saw earlier today with regard to the Artemis program. NASA has pulled the Artemis III contract away from SpaceX.

Here's the thing about that contract: SpaceX doesn't get any money from it until they fulfill it. Yep. This wasn't the typical contracts that are given out---which are called "cost plus". SpaceX hasn't been guaranteed anything. And they've had to develop the moon lander on their own dime.

SpaceX outbid the rest. Now NASA has pulled the contract supposedly because SpaceX is "behind". Guess who else is behind? NASA! If anyone is to blame for not getting to the moon, it is NASA. Pulling this contract won't speed things up. SpaceX has a lot more credibility than anybody else right now. Who else is going to do better than SpaceX?

If I was in Elon Musk's shoes, I'd refuse to bid this time. I'd only offer to do it on a cost plus basis like the rest of these jerks.

NASA won't get back to the moon before the Chinese. It is doubtful that they'll EVER get back. Just more stupidity.

P.S.

It was a 2027 landing. Now the schedule has slipped to 2028. SpaceX wants to get to Mars by then. Surely they could get to the moon. Anyway, the schedule slippage was probably due to NASA. They aren't ready, but NASA wants to blame somebody else--and SpaceX is handy. Absurd.

Things are starting to bug me

It would be nice to believe that things are getting better. One would fervently wish it to be so. However, a scan of the news this morning is not encouraging. If anything, things seem to be getting worse.

Not changing my politics, here ya'll. Trump is paying too much damned attention overseas. He needs to get back here and start dealing with the situation.

Too much belly-aching and not enough action.

As far as the news people are concerned, there should be a lot less talk about problems, and more about what to do about the problems. The problem has been known for a long time now. Nothing is being done about these problems. That's the point.

I've probably written this before...

It will be a one-sentence declaration: It's utterly non-serious. There... It's written again.

Just reading over the usual sites that I read... Nothing much is really happening. The left is in its Oscar winning performance mode---saying how the country is no longer the Yankee Doodle Dandy model of yesteryear. But as usual, they are full of shit.

Nothing much is changing. The left is confusing the public, and the so-called conservatives aren't really doing a damned thing about it. Not only that, close to half of the country believes the bullshit.

One thing IS serious. If something doesn't start really changing soon, these Dems commies will undo every single thing, and then some. Another chance like this won't likely come again. In other words, the doom of this country will be sealed.

Not wishing to be on the downer, but that's how it really is. Trump is doing a good job, but it is not nearly enough. That's because it isn't nearly aggressive enough. Trouble is, if he did try to do anything, the GOP would get nervous and would probably stop him. Example? The shutdown. The left has presented their jugular, and the GOP doesn't go for it. Trump and the GOP will regret this. If not, the rest of us will.

There's a limited time to get this done, and the GOP/Trump has pissed away most of Trump's first year of the second term. His accomplishments all seem superficially impressive, but it needs to be better, and it ain't. Our problems aren't in the middle east nor in Ukraine. It's always been right here.

As for the title claim, it has always been true about the GOP. Way too scaredy cat to do anything serious.

The Mamdami Effect

It's not MY opinion, by the way. It is the video author's opinion. I include it here without comment. If there IS a comment, it is that the Dems try to pretend to be reasonable, but when push comes to shove, they aren't really. So they are boxed into supporting this guy, even though they know it is not good for them. The country hasn't gone commie yet. Lots of polls out there suggests that many may be warming up to the idea. Now THAT is food for thought. You cannot depend upon an anti-communist populace anymore.

Former Canadian NAFTA Trade Negotiator Starts Noticing Trump Doesn't Intend to Keep USMCA

Conservative Treehouse blog

Comment:

Here's an example of a country getting fitted for its skin suit.  It's too bad that they did it to themselves.  Usually when you are dealing with those who make a skin suit out of you, you are dealing with a psycho.  Unfortunately for the Canucks, they voted in their own psychos.  We are pretty close to do it to ourselves in the USA.  It ain't over yet.  Stupidity can never be underestimated.  You can see what it has done to the Canucks.

My take on this video is that it is another reason to believe that globalization has failed

The shift in thinking has begun. Moves and counter-moves are in play. What the final outcome will be is anybody's guess. If we avoid a major war, we should consider ourselves very fortunate. On the other hand, you cannot go back. The die is cast.

Canada news

Looks to me like BC just shut down any way that Alberta could ship its oil out without shipping it to the USA. If Alberta could do that, it could diversify its customer base. Why would they do that???

Canada is nuts.

Privacy guy closes video with "Microsoft, go Zuck Yourself"

You gotta love it. Anyway, when Microsoft starting copying EVERYTHING you do, that was the red flag that caused me to switch to Linux. Microsoft has gone nuts. Unfortunately, all these Big Tech outfits are the same. Most of the Dow Jones Industrial Average is based upon these tech giants. They are massively stuffed with stolen goods--your data. So I applaud the defiance, and wish everyone would join in. Or out. Or whatever. Just stop using the Big Tech tech and play your game by your rules--not theirs.

No Kings, No Grassroots, No Introspection

No Kings, No Grassroots, No Introspection: On October 18, the un-American left held countless demonstrations across the country (allegedly about 2,500 of them), ranging from harmless picket lines to riotous violence.  The theme?  “No Kings” — a de...

Comment:

Why not a King?  It may be the one thing that will clean up this mess.

King Donald the First!

Gee golly whiz, what happened to gun-control?
