First and foremost, I agree that something's up with this deficit spending, debt creation, and high interest rates. But the real question is, what do you do about it?

Number one, pass a balanced budget amendment. This would prohibit the creation of new debt, and force the government to live within its means.

Number two, the Federal Reserve's original mission was to be the banker for banks. If there was an emergency need for funds, the FED could be the lender of last resort. This would stop bank runs. Bank runs are inevitable in a fractional reserve system. No bank carries the funds it would need in the case of a panic, in which everyone wants their money out of the bank. The FED's mission has creeped into economic management, which is not what it should be doing. Elected officials need to do their jobs, and take the heat for when things are getting out of hand in the economic sphere. That's what politics is FOR.

Thirdly, the root problem is the corruption in the system. Over 90% of Congress-critters return to office after each election. There's no accountability anymore. The system is corrupt because WE THE PEOPLE have taken our eyes off the ball. Politicians need to be reminded who they work for. The politicians are trying to create a system in which we work for them instead of the other way around.

Perhaps it was a mistake for me to have ever commented upon this subject at all. It simply does not hold interest for me. For others, perhaps.

 

I did do some research on Epstein and Ghislane Maxwell. These two did not interest me before. I can understand that they are really bad people.

Trying to understand the Epstein flap. Still don't get it.

There are folks who have commented upon the Epstein thing. Nobody has of yet has identified anything of substance that impresses me. The only thing is this vague notion of the "Swamp". What IS the so-called swamp? This guy says it is all swamp.

 

Well, that's one point of view. Mine is this: Trump is the one and only person in the political sphere that actually done anything at all but beat their gums about "issues". We get limited efforts from the politicians, especially the Republicans. You can count on the Democrats to grow government into a bigger and more powerful force that works in their own favor, but no one else's. The Democrats have no credibility on Epstein, but they try to use it. As for Republicans? They may beat their gums from time-to-time, but outside of Trump, who is there?

Trump isn't perfect, but he's doing something. I'd be careful about listening to anybody who finds fault with the guy, because it will only bring us back to where we were before--- which was nowhere. For better or worse, Trump is MAGA. If you want another flavor of MAGA, be careful about who you choose. This is an elective system, and a choice comes up every 2 years. Keep your "eyes on the prize".

Texas is supposed to be conservative, but this may show the folly of liberalism is taking root here

 

As a long term Houstonian, the ideas presented here are going to be a huge mistake. The train they already built into downtown was no improvement at all. Increasing that approach will only make things a whole lot worse. Downtown Houston used to be a dream to drive in. The traffic lights were fairly well-timed, and you could almost make through the downtown area without having to stop. Thanks to the train, you will encounter stalled traffic that could last forever, or so it seems.

 

Some people should have better things to do than to make plans for other people. Their plans are are supposed solution to a supposed problem. In the end, they solve no problems, and just spend a crap load of money. This video is about making Houston go from a car happy town to a rail town. Good luck with that. Not that it matters all that much to yours truly since I don't live there anymore. But the locals who are still there should beware of these knuckleheads. It may already be too late.

This was an incomplete post. So here's some more on the subject... Of course, the idea to convert freeway to rail lines is absurd. However, he did cover what he called the "Brightline" idea, which is a lot more sensible.

 

The part I was referring to, and what the author of the video referred to, was how Houston is "cut in half" by the freeway. This is a lot of hyper criticism of a sensible thing they once did, but the plotters and schemers want to take down. If you're going to do that, you will have to piss off a lot of other people.

 

So I don't know which ox gets gored, but the libs are getting more and power in Houston, so the dumbasses may win out. They'll "free" the area of I45, and the sensible people will take it on the chin. Unless something changes, of course. I wouldn't bet the farm though. Things are going downhill in Houston, sorry to say.
