The Lt. Gov of this Texas has suggested the same idea as one of the suggestions here. That is, to ban sales of guns to people you don't know.
This is another case of being bullied into doing something unwise.
Why is it unwise? Besides denying the public its 2nd Amendment rights, holding another person responsible for what someone else does is a bad idea. For example, if an airline sells a plane ticket to a terrorist, and the terrorist hijacks the plane and uses it as a weapon, do you hold the airline responsible? Do you hold the plane manufacturer responsible since the plane was used a weapon? Do you hold the box cutter manufacturer responsible because it was used as weapon? Of course not. The person(s) responsible for the atrocity is responsible.
The idea of banning sales of guns to non-family members is flawed for that reason. Quit trying the please the left by accepting their flawed premises. It isn't any of the government's business who you sell your property to.
