Rather quiet

The webs seem quiet right now. Actually, I would have expected more chatter, but there is very little. The chatter is likely taking its cue from the White House. Unfortunately, the matter is probably already decided. The rest of this is just theater.

It was decided when Biden was installed. The guy has done nothing but run the country into the ground. Perhaps we are just seeing the beginnings of trouble. Dick Morris says that if Ukraine goes, Taiwan goes. Perhaps the quietness is because of that. Something big is about to happen, and the matter is beyond our control. Things will happen regardless of what Biden says or does.

So if Putin takes Ukraine, does that mean we go to war with Russia? If we don't, then what if China decides to move against Taiwan? You see? All of our post world war II security structure is crumbling. There's nothing we can do about it because we are not in a position to do anything about it. It's all lost, and that's going to have great repercussions geopolitically.

Meanwhile, Canada is slipping into dicatorship. You can bet we are next. The regime in the White House is going to outlaw dissent just the way it is being done in Canada. Those who do not conform are going to be treated as domestic enemies. It is not for nothing that the security fence is going to go up again around the Capitol Building. The regime cares nothing about public opinion. It is all for show.

There may be another move to rig the elections. Without any dissent permitted, how then are we to justify ANY war anywhere? For "freedom" that no longer exists? Freedom is just a "magic word" like all the rest of their magic words. There is no meaning behind the words, but the intent to enforce compliance by the use of flowery words that have nothing behind them. People will have to comply or else, just like the people in Canada are facing now.

In the face of all this, people have to decide what to do. They have to decide what to believe. So far, the regime is managing to keep it up with their propaganda, and most people are falling into line. In my opinion, that is a big mistake. People should be raising hell about Canada, not Ukraine. If it isn't for freedom, then what is it all for? The corporations? Canada is on our doorstep. Ukraine is a long way away. So is Taiwan for that matter. Because of the failures in Washington, the security arrangements are falling apart. The regime will cast about for scapegoats to shift the blame away from themselves as things increasingly fall apart. The battle for freedom here takes precedence. It won't matter if it is lost elsewhere if we lose it here.

Things might get pretty hairy no matter how it all goes down. Maybe people sense that, and that is why things are quiet.

Do not let your hearts be troubled

A recent poll was cited there somewhere on the web, which I didn't link to. Yep, forgot to take notes of that, sorry. The refund check is in the mail.

The poll said that Canadians approved of Herr Trudeau's ( hmm, that looks funny ) act by a 2-1 margin. Those of us who sympathized with the truckers have got to shaking their heads over that one. But let me hypothesize a possible defense of Canadians. They may not have lost their minds, or not yet. That's because of the other things that are also going down. If you get on Herr Trudeau's fecal roster, you could have your property seized. You could be accused of being against the gubbermint! Such a heinous crime, indeed.

Well, if I was in Canada, and that was going down, what would I do? I think I'd do a Sgt. Shutlz-- "I know no-sink! no-sink!" Then, I'd prepare myself for a move elsewhere a little bit less crazy. A trip down south to the USA may not be much better, but it would be an improvement for NOW. Stick around long enough, they may take it all on the grounds that you are a Hitlerite fascist or something. Eventually, if it gets crazy enough, the Canadians will need a wall to keep the people in. They even have "checkpoint charlies" going up all over the place.

That part of the craziness is somewhat understandable. If you answer the polls the wrong way, you could get into trouble. That's how it always works in totalitarian states. Hitler got 95% in his elections. He didn't get those numbers until he was safely in power and nobody could do anything to stop him without ending up in a gas chamber. Better to say "ja!", than "nein", and end up on the wrong side of the dirt.

So don't be too bothered by that poll. People braved being shot trying to get past that wall in the Cold War. People braved shark infested waters to get away from Cuba. It will be hard for Herr Trudeau to shut down EVERYTHING. There will be resistance and this will be counter-productive for him in the long run. That is, if there is still a USA to run to.

That's what the commies are working on over here. It is a world-wide thing. Communism didn't work on a country-by-country basis, so they'll try to go worldwide with it. That's how Marx predicted it. This is an international communist takeover attempt.

I suppose commies know their garbage doesn't work, but if everyone is in chains, nobody can resist, you see. As long as there's freedom somewhere in the world, the commies have a problem. They will always have a problem, because even if they win, they will lose.

Like a firebell in the night

Thomas Jefferson once said this in reference to the then brewing sectional conflict between the slaveholding states and the rest of the free states. His premonition turned out to be exactly right, as the South left the Union some forty years after he said that. As per Jefferson, this thing that the Canadian Prime Minister has done is another firebell in the night. Something huge is brewing, and it could be just as bloody as the Civil War.

Like the Civil War, this is actually about freedom. It is the freedom that everyone seems to have taken for granted. That doesn't look very secure now with the kind of things being done supposedly in the name of public health. However, this most recent action has nothing to do with that. It has everything to do with whether or not the freedoms we take for granted are still to be enjoyed, or to be swept away at the whims of a petty dictator who cannot brook any dissent whatsoever.

Trudeau cannot claim national security here. These truckers aren't violent. He cannot seize property without due process. But there he is doing it. All of this on the basis of peaceful dissent against his policies of mandated vaccinations. It doesn't seem to rise to that level of concern that the entire nation should be cast into chains just because Mr Trudeau cannot bring himself to negotiate a peaceful settlement of differences.

After all, isn't that what democracy and freedom is all about? How's what Trudeau's doing any different than what any dictator in history has done? Our freedoms, which took centuries to win over the dictators in the past, are being cast overboard just because of this one little man. Even though it is Canada, they are our neighbors. How can a legitimate President of the United States sit idly by while our neighbor to the North is descending into a North Korean type dicatorship? Evidently, it has Biden's approval. It has been reported that they are in discussions with each other.

They are worried about their "legitimacy" according to one blog I read. Trudeau ought to be more concerned about his legitimacy now that he has done this. Not only Trudeau, but any politician in the so-called free world cannot be secure in their own legitimacy while sitting idly by while this is going on. This should be drawing enormous outcries from our leadership. Where is it? Where's the outrage?

This is a peaceful protest. So protest is illegal now? Politicians should be called upon to respond to this so that their true feelings are on the record. If the public wants a dictatorship, they should at least have that on the ballot as a choice. After all, this is supposed to be a democracy.

Even then, it has been said that democracies commit suicide. That is what we could be observing now. Too bad that not many people are more concerned about that. This is truly a firebell in the night, as Jefferson warned. History may not repeat itself, but it often rhymes.

Doxxing cannot be justified that way

Doxxing Canadian Trucker donors

What's the justification for doxxing the donors to the Canadian Trucker protestors? Why, it's a insurrection, it is claimed. Funny how that word keeps popping up.

The reason for posting on this is that these loony tunes want to establish themselves as the state. Therefore, any opposition to them is insurrection, you see. If the Constitution in the US is the state, you are in insurrection if you want to overthrow IT. But if you are opposed to a political party and/or the leader of that party, you aren't in insurrection to the STATE. Since that was Canada, the law is different. But the principle is the same. These people want to be seen as the state, when in fact, if it is a democracy, the PEOPLE are the sovereigns. The Constitution of the US has a PREAMBLE which begins "WE THE PEOPLE". Does Canada have this? If it doesn't, then how is it a democracy? Wherein does the state's citizens owe their allegiance? To Trudeau? In the US, all officers of the Constitution, including the President, must swear an oath to the Constitution, which is ordained by the PEOPLE.

Actually, as I understand it, the head of the state in the British Commonwealth is the Queen. So, is Trudeau now the KING??? Or is the insurrection to Trudeau the same as insurrection to the Queen? Or how does it work in Canada? Certainly cannot be said that to oppose the US President is tantamount to treason. Nor to insurrection. The January 6th protestors weren't trying to overthrow the US Constitution. They were protesting an allegedly dishonest election. Surely, the Canadian truckers aren't trying to overthrow the Canadian government. But even if getting Trudeau sacked was their objective, this isn't insurrection. Is that hard to understand? Trudeau is claiming to be the state, not just the head of state, but the state itself.

The word "insurrection" may be another one of those "magic" words that justify the actions in which could not be taken otherwise. If it is "insurrection", then extraordinary actions must be taken to prevent an overthrow to the government. Even the act upon which Trudeau is justifying his acts says that it wouldn't be legal in any other context. But is that what the truckers seek to do? Is it Trudeau and his supporters who are claiming that they are trying to prevent an insurrection? Really? For it to be that, Trudeau would have to be the state, and he cannot be that unless something else has changed.

The same is true of the January 6th protestors in the USA. They weren't trying to overthrow the US Constitution, so how could they be insurrectionists? Even if the idea was to overthrow the incoming Biden Administration, that isn't insurrection. For Biden isn't the state. That's the case unless something fundamental has changed, and Biden is now considered to be the state.

Off-grid post, 2-16-22

 

The battery build is out, but something else is in. Battery hookup had some pre-assembled units on sale, so I snapped up one of those instead. All I have to do is to get the BMS hooked up properly. Maybe it won't be too complicated. The BMS is not included, so that is going to have to be purchased as well.

Now I can fool around with that when it arrives. I anticipate attaching a new solar panel, a new charge controller, and a new inverter to the thing. It will be a modest system, but it is expandable.

So its "off we go" on another adventure of sorts. I think this one is almost idiot proof, but I haven't seen it yet, and it hasn't seen me.

We'll see.

Technical difficulties

 The Bluetooth function which allows me to transfer posts composed on another machine to the android phone has failed.

It may be a Google fault or internet service snafu.

I had a post all set to go and now I have to make a work around.

Off-grid post, 2-15-22

Assholes and elbows on this idea the last few days. The lite posting is the evidence of little attention elsewhere.

The idea is to build a battery system. It is a complex task, which is what 90% of this is about. That's just the research behind it. Not a build, just the research. The incentive to do it could be to save money. Emphasis on "could be". It turns out that the real money savings comes from used parts. If these fail, there won't be much money saved, and it could even cost more money.

There are some pretty expensive parts that you have to buy if you want to go the solar route. One of the significant expenses is the battery component. If you can save money there, you might have something worthwhile. But there's that risk mentioned above. Another risk is that I don't do this kind of thing, so the possibility of error must be factored in.

The rewards could be significant. The risk isn't all that significant in terms of money. But there are other considerations. Like screwing up and getting myself injured or worse.

Just guessing that size of the project should be somewhere close to 10 kwh. This will run most everything I've got, but I'd still have to be careful to ration my electrons.

Working up a basic idea on cost for an entire system. It is not out of the question that I could try this, or attempt to do this. The bigger question is if I am nutty enough to try.

It's like a lot of things. I've got some thinking to do.
