One must wonder if sabotage has been the higher order directive.
Sabotage is the most likely explanation according to Occam's Razor--- it is the simplest. Those at the top didn't care anymore, so long as they were taken care of--- the rest of the people were an afterthought. The wolves can always blame the sheep because the sheep can vote and had the opportunity to vote these rascals out, but didn't. So the rationalizations come running. The rationalizations protect the guilty---the wolves. The sheep are to be sacrificed, and new sheep are to replace them. Hence, "immigration reform". The sheep are in denial, for the threat is too terrifying to confront. If the sheep decide to move in their own interest, it will come too late.
Update:
The multitude is being deceived and led astray. There can be no mistake about it.
