Let me introduce myself

Hello, there. This is the first post of my new blog which I started this very day. I am reminded of the vice presidential debate of 1992, when Admiral Stockdale, who was Ross Perot's running mate introduced himself to the country. He drew a laugh when he said "Who am I? What am I doing here?" Yeah, I think I'll follow the example. Who am I and what the heck am I doing here?

Well, I have blogged before. Back in 2004, I had a blog called "Boots and Oil". The name for this blog is a shortened version of that blog. The Boots and Oil blog was short lived: it only lasted through the summer before the election of 2004 and shortly afterward. As you might guess, I have an interest in politics. The Boots and Oil blog was commentary upon the political situation as it unfolded during the presidential race of 2004.

Like a lot of things that I do, this blog wasn't planned. It just happened. I was looking around for a guitar tuner on the internet. I have an old guitar which I haven't picked up in years and it was out of tune. My ear isn't good enough to tune a guitar without some help and my old device went missing. So, I needed something to help me out. A brainstorm occurred. I got the idea to look for what I needed on the internet. And I found something. But it needed a website to use it, so I went to this website and created this blog. It so happens that I already had an account with blogger, but had forgotten about it.

Here it is. Let's see if it works.

Well, it looks like it might work, but upon first inspection, it doesn't. I managed to find something else, so I won't spend a lot of time on this.

I have actually reviewed an number of books during last year's election campaign, and the reviews can be found as GWM as the reviewer and one of the books was written by Vince Bugliosi. If you are interested, you can look it up.
