    Speculation: Could be a psy-op to depress MAGA enthusiasm. Also to boost left-wing enthusiasm. Somebody wants the Dems to win real badly, and it may not necessarily be all Democrats. Also, consider the source --- Bloomberg. Quoted a Heritage "hard-liner". Why use these type of persuader words? The idea is to give it more credibility, when there could be reason to doubt it.

  Poll numbers ARE indeed down. That is why some type of action is necessarily in order to stem these losses, and even turn them back around.
