Obligatory, 5.4.20

Times are tough. It looks like times will get even tougher in the days ahead.

The problem to me is that people do not necessarily listen to facts nor reason. In spite of all of the claims to higher functioning, human beings still seem to function on a barbaric level. Putting it another way, this so-called pandemic isn't the first time the human race has engaged in a convulsion of self-destructive behavior.

Humor may not be appreciated nor understood. But it may be the most rational thing we have left in our arsenal against insanity. It has helped me before.

I find the leadership in this country to be below optimal. But I've felt that way for a long time. It is hard for me to believe that people can trust everything they hear about this virus uncritically, and without question.

It wouldn't surprise me if the entire thing is a hoax. Not to deny that there is such a thing as a virus that is going around. But that it represents enough of a threat to cause such disruption. That is what I am questioning.

Those who push for this shutdown to continue are the very ones who impeached this president. Evidence continues to mount of their misconduct over the last few years. Why should someone like me believe them now? Simply put, I don't trust them.

I think we'd be a lot better off if a lot more people were skeptical of our leaders. I'm not talking about Trump. I am no cultist. It is the Democrats who seem so willing to believe their own leaders.

Until they behave more skeptically of their own, I will not question Trump. As far as I am concerned, he is more the solution than the problem.
