Northwest Passage


The most likely route would be the most southern route, in my opinion.  According to this map, it would traverse areas that Canada claims as territorial waters.  If it requires Canadian approval, then it may never be developed.

Even if this could be avoided, environmentalists would oppose it.

Nevertheless, a passage through this area could make Greenland more significant.  Note that Greenland is south of the Arctic Circle in the southern regions.  It may also be true of much of the southernmost route in Canada.
