The Hill: GOP may push for two-year budget as price of debt deal

By Bob Cusack and Erik Wasson - 06/07/11 06:00 AM ET Republican leaders are considering asking the White House to back a significant reform of the federal budget process in exchange for raising the nation’s debt ceiling.

My comment:  If this makes the process work better, I'm all for it, but note why there is opposition:
Many appropriators remain firmly against the idea, which would cut their workload — and authority.

Turf battle.  Always turf battles.  This isn't about them, it is about the future of this country.
