2010 - On the Reality of LENR and the Mythology of Cold Fusion

Makes the case that Cold Fusion and LENR are not equivalent

  • editor of New Energy, prepared for meeting in SF
  • not recommended for people of fixed beliefs
  • significant amount of helium in experiments
  • assumption, but only assumptions, didn't know about electroweak interaction
  • equation dumbed down
  • assuming helium coming out with low energy and no other nuclear products
  • list of reactions- how does cold fusion explain- goes through list - doesn't add up
  • separate set of phenomena
  • 'know' that there are no other phenomena in cells
  • helium retention hypothesis
  • helium release from accumulation of helium
  • discussion of chart
  • how to explain the discrepancy?
  • want to think it is simple- Occam's Razor.  But not what nature is saying.
  • Cold fusion theory can't explain it.
  • Various explanations and their flaws
  • No explanation of Lenr
  • Cold Fusion using term FPE  Flieishmann Pons Effect
  • Use of term 'cold fusion' doesn't help Lenr
  • "It is nuclear and it is Lenr"
  • Doesn't look like fusion- not friendly comments from believers
  • "Leave faith to religion and bring science back to Lenr"

Update:

Here's a write up that may or may not be easier to follow.

Update:

16. Cold Fusion Versus LENR: Competing Ideologies  [ my comment: yes, it is a war which decides who has the theory that better fits the observations- not a theory that denies the phenomenon itself , therefore the argument doesn't repudiate the phenomena- that's a relief]
