New tech on the horizon

It's a long video, so here is sort of a summary. Three products (that I didn't quite catch--time constraints) :

  1. Robotics
  2. AI
  3. How to power them: Space Solar

Something of an addendum here. Musk talks about the future with regards to these developments. The future he talks about involves something I once mentioned. It has to do with radical abundance.

He didn't use those terms exactly, but radical abundance means that prices will come down. But there's a catch: the catch is that civilization has to keep advancing. Civilizations don't always advance, in fact, they have life-cycles. If this country hasn't entered a permanent decline, then the outcome will be radical abundance.

The reason that I'm so hard on communism is that radical abundance won't come from the direction of China. Never mind what China may be doing with AI, energy, and robotics. That kind of future is not a happy one. The kind we should want-- is if the machines and the state remains under control---as opposed to the people. That fortunate kind of future is not one that will occur in China, but could occur here if we don't screw it up--and lose our freedom.
