Globalism hits a snag

Interesting read by Richard Fernandez, formerly of the Belmont Club.  What's bad news for everybody else seems to make our own bad news seem less bad.

The Globalism Kool Aid seems to have lost its punch.  Spiked with poison, perhaps?

A comparison is made to rats.  How interesting.  Rats may have been the cause of deforestation on Easter Island.  The explosive overpopulation of rats there soon ate themselves out of house and home.  The globalist variety of rat can be said to be doing something similar.  Clever way of putting it.

Update:

Why is globalism failing?  The simple reason is that the theory behind it is not being proven.  The theory is that if world's wealth is spread out more evenly, then the world will be at peace.  The globalists will deny the spreading the wealth part, especially the so called conservative branch, but the effects are the same in any case.

Combine this with Limits to Growth, and you have a recipe for another world war.  For whatever the merit may be of spreading the wealth, Limits to Growth will ensure that not enough wealth will be created in order to spread it sufficiently.  Indeed, the wealth creation may stop completely.

With Islam seeking conquest in any case, it may have been doomed from the start.  Islam will seek to dominate regardless of financial condition.  The Islamic thirst for conquest is unquenchable.

A more complex reason is beyond the scope of this piece, and I'm not the one to write it anyway.
