BBC: The goats with spider genes added

BBC ** The goats with spider genes added **

Genetically modified goats at a farm in the US are being farmed to produce large quantities of spider silk, one of the strongest known substances.

Comment:

I first saw this in an interview with Al Gore.   It seemed pretty creepy to me, but the video allayed such fears.  The milk contains the protein of the spider silk, but is normal in all other respects.  Their young can feed on it, most likely.  It isn't silk embedded in milk, just the protein, which can be separated out.

The goats look normal in all ways and the milk is normal, so it isn't so creepy after all.
