Critics of Biden's hydrogen initiative warn of boondoggle
The article breaks down the analysis with a color code. The high end for hydrogen is $5 per kg. That appears to be the most expensive, and it would come from electrolysis of water. Seems a bit high priced. Keep in mind that if Eric Lerner's Focus Fusion works, prices would be reduced by an order of magnitude. That would reduce it to 50 cents per kg.
Producing it from fossil fuels is absolutely ridiculous. You already have it as a ready made source of energy. Why do that??? It is more "economical", but compared to what???
Production from fusion energy that Lerner seeks to perfect doesn't seem so bad, but probably isn't the most efficient. But it would be cheaper than oil and gas now. The way forward should be clear. However, nobody seems interested in Lerner's work. He's still trying to raise money. He went to Greta Thunberg, but that didn't seem to help.
I'd recommend it, but I'm not in position to comment upon its prospects for success. It is cheap to get in on an investment, and I am in for one share at 200 bucks. What the heck? It isn't that much even for me.
