But appearances may be deceiving.
The dollar index is heavily weighted towards Europe. Europe is failing badly too, so it masks our failure.
The Euro was set up to challenge the US dollar and is failing. The Europeans won't succeed in that, but the Chinese probably will.
Why? A lack of virtue and an abundance of vice. The West is fat, dumb and lazy. But the US is the worse offender of the two.
If this sounds unpatriotic, sorry. Truth is truth. Not facing up to it doesn't change a thing.
