This business about same-sex marriage is so troublesome that it has me utterly confounded.
Why would this ever even be considered as a legitimate course of action? If the Supreme Court does this, I don't see much of a future for this country.
Indeed. While Bush was still President, he said something that also floored me. It may give some insight here, if anything can. He said something to the effect that "nationalism is a threat to America". This was maybe about 2006 or so. The problem here is like a corporate officer telling his board of directors that he intended to destroy the company over the long run because its existence was a threat to itself. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. The statement was a non-sequitur of non-sequiturs. It was an oxymoron of oxymorons. Yet these people don't see it that way. It makes perfect sense to them, I suppose. I suppose only in the kingdom of the insane can an insane statement ever make sense.
What do you do when the leadership of the nation loses its marbles?
Revolution? Oh, that's inevitable. Eventually the system must fall. It's only a matter of when and how it begins.
These people are continually lighting matches in rooms full of gasoline. The only reason it hasn't blown up yet is pure dumb luck.
