Why Ted Cruz is The Only Option in 2016

Republicans are either foolish enough to think that if they support amnesty, they will get a chunk of those future votes, or they are too stupid to see what’s really going on. Either way, their idiocy is causing them to side with the left on a “pathway to citizenship.”

A few thoughts here.

1. The above quote follows my thinking fairly closely with respect to illegal immigration.  Pathway to citizenship is dumb, really dumb.
2. With respect to Cruz, he has the "fire in the belly".  I'm not seeing it in other candidates.
3. Dick Morris analyzes Cruz's prospects.  Cruz has to unite a fractious party.  Then he has to unite a fractious nation.  He has to find a way to do it.  Ronald Reagan redux probably won't work because the nation has changed.  But he can learn from Reagan, and that is that it can be done even though the media is left wing.
4. It will be a very tough nut to crack, and to cling to ideological thinking won't carry the day.  If you are going to reach people, you'd better have something credible.
5. Everybody seems to be chasing money.  Money is necessary, but it's the people who decide things one way or another.  The rich guys cannot be allowed to buy the nomination and the election.

One way or another, change is coming to this country.  I'm not too confident anymore about the nature and quality of that change.  Maybe it is a lot like triage in battlefield medical scenarios.  You save what you can.  The rest may have to be sacrificed.  This may cause a lot of moaning and groaning, but if you are not flexible, you stand the risk of losing it all.
