Don’t Believe Poll Propaganda

Dick Morris

Yes, the polls point in Romney's favor, but that was before this VP pick.  Ryan may move the numbers back as the Democrat constituencies get fired up for their guy again.

The truth is very slippery, as I have mentioned before.

Thirty years ago, we had an election in which taxes were cut, but spending was not cut along with it.  For that reason, I wouldn't vote for Reagan.  I figured the kind of thing we might get is what we are getting today.  Big deficits and a tendency towards currency devaluation and inflation.  But, it didn't happen.  What did happen was growth, but that growth apparently wasn't enough to cover the debts that were accumulating.

The thing that did happen is a 30 year struggle for the heart and mind of this country.  The Democrats wouldn't let Reagan balance the budget.  It could have happened, but if it did, they would have been cooked.  So everything got deferred until now.

The same problem exists today as it always has existed.  The politicians can't tell us the truth.  The truth is that the Democrats can't pay for the government they want, and the Republicans can't tell us because they are afraid that the people will punish them for it.  So nothing gets decided.  So here we are.

The Republicans still can't tell us, but would anybody listen if they did?  People want their entitlements and spending, but what if you can't pay for it?

You have to have some wealth creation to do that, but the Democrats have a problem with that.
