That wasn't so hard, now was it?





The first of the 12 appropriations bills passes the GOP led House.



It's a good first step in controlling the excesses of Democrat Big Government overreach.



It cuts spending modestly, but the Democrats are complaining about it. It may be recalled that the Democrats larded up on the spending just before they relinquished control after losing the 2022 elections to the Republicans.



Imagine a Republican led House actually enacting some of its own priorities. What a concept! If they keep going with the Continuing Resolutions, they may as well not even be there. That was the whole point of the Speaker change. McCarthy really didn't want to do anything about Democrat excesses.



The bill may not get passed as is, but so what? Then no spending at all, and the Democrats get nothing. I think they should take what they can get.
