The Democrats' attempt to keep his identity secret isn't working, except with the general public. The public won't hear that he is a Democrat operative. He won't be cross examined which will allow his credibility to be fully established or not.
The idea that his testimony isn't needed anymore is false and absurd. If the written transcript of the call is what the Democrats are depending upon now, then why do they claim that it doesn't say the whole story? The so-called "whistleblower" could fill in the gaps, or not fill in the gaps.
If you want to use the whistleblower's story, then you have to show your cards. That is, unless you have nothing in your hand to play.
