Former President Bush voted for Hillary?

It says that the former President voted for Hillary.  If that is true, and you may as well believe it, then this has to rank as a top reason why he was a big, big mistake as a running mate for the Gipper.  If Reagan didn't name him as running mate, then Bush couldn't run on his coattails in '88 and win the Presidency--- on the strength of that alone.

If Bush doesn't win in '88, his son doesn't win in 2000.  You could have a completely different political situation today.

Hard to say how history would have unfolded, but it could have been better.  Bush is reported to have said he would be the last GOP president.  Yeah, with guys like him, there would be little wonder.

Since Trump said that he couldn't be judged fairly by an American born in Indiana because he was of Mexican ancestry, George Bush pretty much had no choice not to vote for him.

Plus the Bush family has a long history of being against racism.

And, of course, George Bush has a daughter in-law and three adult grandchildren of Mexican ancestry.

Since Hillary broke the law by using a private email system rather than a government system, nobody should have been voting for her. Especially former GOP presidents. If they cannot support Trump, then don't vote at all.

By the way, it isn't about racism. It is about national sovereignty.

Unfortunately, Trump made it about race when he said he couldn't be judged fairly by a judge because of his ethnic ancestry.

Trump's ancestors came from Europe. What gives him the right to say that he can't be judged fairly by an American of both European and Amerindian ancestry. The Spanish, of course, were the first Europeans to discover America. And Amerindians, of course, have been in North America for more than 13,000 years.

But it wasn't about race. People didn't vote for Trump because they wanted the Old South back, or Jim Crow. They voted for him because they wanted a strong economy and wanted the borders defended.

This story was about something else besides race. If Trump's detractors had stayed focused on that, instead of race, it may have made a difference.

The point is that people are not going to be motivated to vote against Trump because his critics are calling him a racist. They will tune that out. Only people who already think he is racist will pay attention to that.

It may not be about race for you but its certainly about race for Trump. There was no logical reason for him to criticize a judge's ability to be fair-- because of his race.

No logical reason!

And there's no doubt in my mind that Trump's attitude towards Americans of Hispanic descent must have been particularly hurtful to Jeb Bush and his wife and children and for the Bush family in general.

If someone said something extremely hurtful about the ethnicity of your wife, your children, or your grandchildren, I don't think you'd have a lot of respect for that individual-- much less vote for them.

But there could have been a logical reason.

Why did the judge unseal the information but for political motivations? He was an Obama appointee. Could Trump have been fighting back the best way he could?

It was about politics and winning an election. It wasn't about race, nor was it about the judge's ability to be fair. It is an old Obama tactic to unseal information before an election. Obama did it to Ryan so he could get Ryan's Senate seat. It even happened to "W" against Gore in 2000. Why not fight fire with fire?

Jeb Bush and the Bushes could set aside grudges, if that be the case. They aren't supposed to let their personal feelings affect their duty to their country.

Hillary was not an option. If Bush wanted to protest, he could have voted for the Libertarian. I voted for a third party for President in '80. John Anderson was a protest vote. I say Bush should never, never voted for Hillary.

The Bushes have a tendency to make bad judgements. That was my point.
