A little more on the launch failure

This requires a speculation alert.

As I mentioned in the previous post, the rocket appeared to have blown up about the time of the separation of the first stage.

However, before this happened, I noticed some flames flickering around the nozzles.  At the time, I thought nothing of this, but considering what happened, the flames may give a clue as to what happened to the rocket.

I'm guessing there may have been a leak and the leak is what caused the explosion somehow.

If you recall, when the Shuttle Challenger blew up, there was an anomalous plume that was cited as the cause of the solid rocket booster slamming into the external fuel tank causing it to blow up.

It was determined then to have been faulty o ring seals, and these were repaired.

Since this is speculation, one should take it as such.  There is no official word of what went wrong as of this writing.
