Drum roll please... Check out the young men for clues...
As soon as I saw "young men under 30", as I am marking here, I remembered what I had hypothesized before. Young men are the tip of the spear. It is always true. As the young men go, so goes the nation. So it did. Young men went for Trump. In 1932, young men went for FDR. Probably for the same reasons. In 1932, the Great Depression meant no work for the young men. Today is much the same, even though there's not a Great Depression, the young men are left out of it. There's no place for the young men, so they move on to something new. Trump would be wise to remember that.
It is also well to remember that young women tend to vote for the status quo. Young women voted for Herbert Hoover in 1932. But women tend to be "more conservative" in the stick-in-the-mud sort of way. That's true even if the status quo is leftist. Watch and see if this continues to develop that way.
