It might be an election issue if the GOP wanted it to be, but it doesn't appear that they want the issue. If they did, then why continue to fund the government? A shut down would stop most of the worst stuff that's happening, including this. The regime is giving away freebies to the illegals. If there's no money to give away, the flood slows down to a trickle.
