Obi-wan v newly minted Darth Vader fight it out in "Revenge of the Sith" scene

There was this post, and it made me think of this Star Wars scene. I join this video in progress towards the part where good and evil are asserted.

My point is that Anakin/Darth Vader does not think he is evil. Such is the case for ALL people. Nobody thinks they're evil.

Adopted an evil mindset, and aren't truly aware of it, is my opinion. (Yoda speak!)

Word salad Kammie will melt your brain

It should be remarked that the "solution" offered by Oprah, and claimed by Harris, was NOT a solution. It would have cemented illegal immigration at the currently high levels. The solution is a wall, and strict enforcement of the immigration laws already on the books.

Incidentally, that's what Trump did and it worked. The Biden/Harris dynamic duo undid that, and now are claiming, with this video, to have a "solution" to the problem. Their solution is more of the same. In fact, they ADMIT THAT with this answer she gives, after getting help from Oprah.

Shoulda made a video on this...

P.S.

Trump ad. If he had an opportunity to do this in a debate... It could be revealing...

Was Greenwald censored, and/or was Air America sent down the memory hole?

With respect to that last post, a click-through will reveal what Greenwald was talking about. Greenwald was pretty critical of the Iraq War, and was often cited by my old friend on the left--The Mahablog. ( no link to Mahablog, as she banned me from the Woolsworth for daring to ask an innocent question.)

Anyway, old-timers like me will remember "Air America". It was often ridiculed on the so-called right. Air America was supposedly an answer to Rush Limbaugh and talk radio. The internet was still a new thing in the early years of the 21st century, talk radio is what the libs hated back then. The libs wanted to shut down talk radio, and Rush Limbaugh made a joke about it on his TV show. He disguised his face behind a blue dot.

The point being that censorship from the left is nothing new.

9/15/24:

Knee jerk

9/20/24:

Much is being made of the endorsement of Dick Cheney.

What's the point of endorsements, anyway? Could it be an example of the use of social proof? In a novel situation, if you don't know what to do, you look around and see what others are doing for clues to what to do yourself.

Add a smattering of the deference to authority, and you get the endorsement routine during an election. Just throwing it out there that it is a manipulation.

12/1/20:

Knee jerks

This may not be terribly useful, but here goes anyway. It is something that I've written about before. The trouble is, I am relying upon memory, and memories can fail. If memory serves, then perhaps this could be useful.

The recollection is that human beings have psychological "knee-jerk" reactions to certain stimuli. There were six of these cited in a book, in which I cannot remember much else about. One of the authors names ( there may have been more than one author ) may have been Zimbardo.

One of the six was used as a possible explanation for the lack of response from the neighbors of a woman named Genovese, who was murdered in New York in the sixties. The story was this woman was screaming for somebody to help her, but nobody did. There was a lot of criticism of this failure to act, but it was something of a head scratcher. Why didn't anybody come to her aid?

The theory put forth in this book was that it was a knee-jerk reaction, of which there are six. I cannot remember all six, but one of them was called "social proof". What is social proof? In a novel situation, people do not always know what to do. In this situation, people may not have known what to do to help this lady. They looked around at others, and nobody was doing anything, so therefore that was their cue to respond likewise---voila, social proof.

A novel situation prevails today with this coronavirus. It is novel because there has not been anything like this in my lifetime, and I am in my sixties. What do you do? If social proof is of any validity, then people are taking their cues from what others are doing, and are acting the same way.

But there could be another knee jerk reaction mentioned in that book which could be at play. It is called authority. Yes, people do defer to authority. This is necessary for an orderly society, but when does it become unhelpful and even harmful? Well, it was not very helpful in dealing with the likes of Adolf Hitler when he assumed authority in Germany back in the 1930's. That failure led to the bloodiest war in history thus far.

Can you act against your own knee-jerk reactions? If knee-jerk reactions are the explanation for this seemingly mindless reaction to the coronavirus scare campaign, then we might be in some trouble if there is nothing that can counter it.

I'd like to think that human reason can help. All you can do is point to why this thing is not at all the way it is being hyped up as being, and people should be asking questions.

One thing that you don't want is to be the type of person who can only do knee jerk reactions. People can die from that too, you know. The lady Genovese did in New York back in the sixties, and millions died as a result of World War II. It is very important to let your higher faculties being put to use, if you have any.

An example of divide and conquer.

9/20/24 about 6 AM This is the old divide and conquer approach. This isn't about Republicans and Democrats.

The Iraq War was supposedly a big crime that the Bush-Cheney crew cooked up. But America was just coming off of 9-11, and there was a perceived need to go after terrorists, wherever they were.

The left made a big issue out of the Iraq War, but they don't seem so pacifist these days.

It is almost as if the Iraq War was a wedge issue to divide Americans against itself. The same is true today with regards to Ukraine.

Democrats have forgotten their pacifism. They've also forgotten about the middle class, while they import voters for their new grip on the country. Never mind that some of these may be terrorists.

Meanwhile, the Dems use the "bipartisan" argument to push the idea that the most liberal Senator in Congress is actually a moderate.

It's all an attempt to divide and conquer. A few elites in Washington DC want the public to swallow the bull that that these same Establishment elites are where the majority is, while they replace the majority with illegal immigrants who will help them steal the election.

Post Script: 7:12 AM

In the tweet, I mention an Amazon review. The Amazon review I did isn't there anymore. I don't remember deleting it, so why is it gone?

A bit of speculation here, as I have no proof. It may have been deleted in a hack.

That's all the evidence I have that I wrote the review. But I know I did, and I'm certain I didn't delete it.

My review was extraordinarily critical and harsh. I said that Bugliosi needed a padded cell.

Now the whole country seems to be going insane in exactly this way.

I wonder if Greenwald had any of his videos hacked???

Teamsters won't endorse Harris

9/19/24; 2:00 PM:

The link takes issue with the assertion from the donks that it is no big deal. Actually, it is a big deal. Rank and file do not like Harris. But the leaders do. That cancels out.

Not that Democrats worry about the actual votes. They can just make up votes out of thin air.

Strategy v tactics

Strategy is long-term. Tactics is near-term.

What is the strategy? What are the tactics?

I'd guess at this, because my "pay grade" cannot identify it. Or maybe it can. The strategy is continual divide-and- conquer. Keep the public divided against itself, because the one thing they fear the most is a united citizenry.

Divide upon race, sex, and class. Divide upon left-right-center. Divide upon gender. Divide upon anything that could be used to divide people.

Once people are divided enough, any election can be stolen.

If it is a landslide, an election cannot be stolen. Hence, ways have to be found to get the people at odds with one another.

Lying is always a strategy. The ruling class is at war with its own people. Therefore, as Sun Tsu would agree, the need for continual subterfuge is obvious.

The ruling class are few. The ruled class is many. In an election, the ruling class cannot afford to have the ruled class united. Whatever it takes in terms of lying is what you'll see. The lying in this cycle seems more than usual, but maybe it is because of greater awareness.

I'd say the main goal is to keep people in the dark. You know, the old mushroom treatment.

Tactics will be dictated upon the needs of the strategy. These could be rather fluid as the situation is ever changing.

If Biden can't fool 'em, then Kamala Harris will. If she can't, then they may need to adjust their tactics.

Dan Bongino Show, 9/18/24

This is yesterday's show, of course. But I want to show something here that supports a theory that I have about the high level lack of support for Trump. This is in reference to the Bushes and the Cheneys.

The following embed is from Dan Bongino's show in progress, where he mentions the grenade that was thrown on stage at Bush!

Bush didn't get killed, but that is not the point. The attempt was made. What I'm getting at here is that the Bushes and the Cheneys are really just too chicken to continue fighting back against the left. That's because once they do, and actually endorse Trump, they will incur the wrath of the wacko Democrats.

In other words, the Democrats are profiting from political violence, while at the same time, they are preaching their love of Democracy. When they get the endorsements of a former political foe that some of them wanted to kill, they are overjoyed. They just received it under fraud. Fraud is the receipt of a good under false pretenses. If they receive a good ( endorsement) because of a threat, that is fraud. It is in the law. Look it up.

Anyway, here's the reference to the bomb thrown at Bush. Bush wasn't killed, but that doesn't change the fact that attempts were made. Besides that, they were threatening impeachment over Iraq. The Bushes and the Cheneys are possibly victims of the Stockholm Syndrome. I'm making the Patty Hearst defense of brainwashing. Anyway, here is the bomb throwing reference:

Post script:

The Patty Hearst defense failed in the courtroom, but it succeeded in convincing President Jimmy Carter in granting a commutation of her sentence from her participation in the bank robberies she was coerced into participating in.

The Chicago Way

The reason I'm putting this up was a couple lines there at the end.

1) God hates a coward, and

2) Do you know what a blood oath is? Because you just took one.

Another reason is that I don't know if anybody in this country is prepared for what may be coming down the pike, and very soon now. Playing it safe may not be an option.

Post script:

The Biden Administration sure acts like they are helpless in doing anything more than what they are doing in terms of preventing these assassination attempts. As Bongino noted, there's practically no accountability here, and now they are taking victory laps like they did something good, when the truth is that they didn't do a good job.

This is the kind of thing we are facing. An institutional Chicago Way, in which they are willing to DO and SAY ANY DAMNDED THING. Now they want to punish people and JAIL them for merely expressing an adverse opinion to their interests. Well, all good men should answer the call, because our country is at risk from something like that. Playing it safe may not be an option.

Are you SURE you want this woman to be POTUS?

9/18/24:

The scale of the dishonesty in that last post recalls this post.

The question is posed yet again. ARE YOU SURE???

Examples added in quick update:

She said she came in with the worst unemployment since the Great Depression. WRONG.

The worst public health epidemic in centuries. WRONG.

The worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War. WRONG

I don't even have to look it up. Don't let her waste my time (or yours) chasing down her bullshit.

8/20/24: The sinister tone of this clip is undeniable. Nobody like this should be within one time-zone of the presidency.

Seriously, this is scary shit. It is INTENDED to be scary. This kind of talk is why we have a constitution. Even the King George III of England wouldn't have talked like THIS.

Another softball session masquerading as an interview with Kamala Harris.

The main thing I want to mention here is that you should read through the many comments. I didn't see any lefties in the mix, but I didn't read them all.

Instead, there are some trolls on Revolver, where I found this.

One more thing, then I'll close this out. This is yet another friendly audience, with no follow-up ( it would seem) nor any type of fact-checking ( also, it would seem) of the kind that Trump received on ABC news.

Democrats supposedly have chant about the dogs and cats

They're not eating them, they chant.

Why is it so hard to believe that people from other cultures that are poring over our borders are also doing things that we find strange???

Also, the left wants everybody to eat bugs in order to save the Earth from so-called "climate change". If you advocate eating bugs, then why does those from other cultures eating dogs and cats seem so far-fetched to you???

Normally, I would gloss over something like this, because I didn't look carefully

One of the people bussed into Kamala's rallies was the guy they arrested for an attempted assassination of Trump. Purple tee shirt with the manboobs.

Oh my God, indeed.

Dave Portnoy: "What Democrats Have Done Is Far Worse Than Anything Trump Has Done

Comment:

The "save democracy" schtick is more about January 6th "fedsurrection" than what the argument is supposedly about. Democrats seem to have a problem with anybody opposing them. Then they retaliate. No opposition is tolerated. The "insurrection" narrative is retaliation against opposing them. So is the reaction to previous opposition leaders such as Trump, Bush during his presidency, the elder Bush, and Reagan. Their reaction is hysterical---not based upon reason, but emotion.

Post script:

I did a Gemini AI query about "fedsurrection" and was given the typical leftist schtick about "conspiracy theory". Beware of AI, especially since it is intended to shut down all discussion on the grounds that the experts have spoken.

But who are the experts? None other than those who follow the approved narrative.

If you don't make the argument, you lose the argument by default

3:58 PM:

And don't forget Tulsi Gabbard being flagged for being some sort of "threat" too.  The administration also denied RFK, Jr. Secret Service protection, etc. etc.

Democrats ought to think twice about their indifference towards their opponents security. There is the day after, you know. Retaliation against their opponents over petty matters doesn't help their "democracy" narrative.

10:00 AM

With respect to the Press Secretary's remarks about criticism being "dangerous", it seems that our side may be dropping the ball.

If you don't mention that the administration is doing their speaking under the color of authority, you're failing to make an important point.

The color of authority adds more potency to words. If the color of authority says someone is dangerous, it might be seen as an okay to do harm to the one posing the danger.

The administration has been very irresponsible in their use of language.

Sure, they are gaslighting about it, but the bigger arguments are being missed. They are doing this under the color of authority, and it is actually contrary to the law.

Congress shall make no law respecting the right of people to redress their grievances. This is especially true of the governing class. That is why it is in the friggin' law! The Press Secretary is way the hell out of line. But that is nothing new, they've been out of line the whole time.

They are attempting to suppress criticism of themselves by labelling it "dangerous". The Constitution does not give them the authority to silence dissent. Period. In fact, it expressly FORBIDS it.

Sounds of Silence--- Simon and Garfunkel (lyrics)

First Amendment blues

8:50 AM, 9/18/24:

People are oh so willing to give up their freedom when times get "dangerous". So the Press Secretary says to question them has become "dangerous".

Translation: Time for you peasants to shut the f**k up.

Perhaps it may be dawning upon the even the most credulous and dim-witted amongst us peasants, that the ruling class doesn't seem to like us very much. When they say "shit", they only want to hear what color and how much. It has gotten so bad now, and so "dangerous", that to merely ask why the opposition leader seems to be targeted by the administration. Their only response is that he is a "threat", but they can only convince their most rabid partisans of any such thing. Most of the country does not agree.

On winning elections and losing them

I've been studying over the Pew Research chart I saw on Powerline today.

There's a significant difference in the way the candidates prioritize the top issues.

It seems that Trump voters are more intense over a few issues, whereas the Harris camp is moderately intense over all of them. On the bottom side of the priorities for Trump voters are really low, while the lowest amongst the Harris camp is not really all that low.

What does it mean for the election? I would think that you would want to attract some of the other side over to your side. But how do you do that? Maybe there's not a whole lot of opportunity for that.

There's plenty of agreement on the main issue, which is the economy. Immigration is top amongst Trump people, and the lowest amongst Harris.

You have to get your people to show up and vote. It seems to reflect upon how this is done. That's why it is so galling to have Democrats attack on the issue of Democracy. Actually, there's a lot of reasons for that to be galling. Trump voters care about the country, but Harris voters just care about themselves. You can see it in the their priorities.

How do you tease out winning issues? The Democrats have an advantage here in that the numbers can be fudged, and spending can mask a weak economy up to a point.

They can play off immigration against racial equality.

The GOP risks a bit with their carefree attitude towards the Supreme Court. The Court could be flipped easily and the Democrats are highly motivated to do just that.

We can all have fun with the dogs and cats thing, but the sleeper here is the Court. I get the feeling we are not doing enough, and I see this and I think it might be what tips the scales a little too much for comfort.

Kaarlo Tuomi

9/16/24:

Dan Bongino is wondering if there's a mole in the US Secret Service. I could tell him, or anybody else that would listen, or even read this here blog, that the odds of such a thing are quite likely.

The News Media is unreliable. You lose 1 standard deviation off your IQ if you listen to these dolts. If you don't know what a standard deviation is, then put on a dunce cap and go sit in the corner.

I'll embed Dan Bongino's show here while it is in progress. There are those who are counting this latest failure as a sucess. Bongino says "hell no" to that.

I just thought that maybe somebody out there that gives a shit might notice that book, and take remedial action immediately. But that'd never happen unless the media is reformed, and I DO mean reformed BIG TIME.

The media wants to shut others up. Actually, like so many other things, the truth is inverted.

8/15/21:

Kaarlo Tuomi on Wikipedia

Kaarlo Tuomi was a spy for the KGB, who got turned into a counter-spy who worked for the FBI. His story is in the book I blogged about recently. It turns out that his story is told in his own words in another book. There was somebody else who wanted to work with him, but had some negative things to say about him. One of those negative things was his lack of trust. Of course he lacked trust. That's what it is like to live in a place like the Soviet Union. Why is this hard to grasp?

It is things like this that is so discouraging. People just don't seem to appreciate what we've had here. Now you've got other people who want to make sure that story never gets told. All of this, I suspect (that word again!) is coming from the kind of people that once ruled the Soviet Union. They are here, in THIS country.

The price for that book is rather high, just like I saw for the book on the KGB. Is somebody trying to take that book out of circulation??? Kinda like knocking over statues. The truth is not appreciated by those folks because the truth doesn't favor them.

Seems like I saw something on Instapundit this morning about some objections being raised with regards to calling Marxists "authoritarians". Well, those who object should try reading some Marxist literature, these dopes. Ever heard of the "dicatorship of the proletariat"? The trouble is that the dicatorship never goes away. Also, the "equality" is never realized. It's all a big lie. Yet, they've got a lot of people in this country now who think Marxism isn't such a bad thing. You don't see them running off to Cuba or North Korea, now do you? These people are dumb-asses to beat all dumb-asses.

Kaarlo's time was in the late fifties. Those times in the USA were quite different from these times. He was chosen for spy work because he was born in the USA. His folks were naive Marxists, and emigrated to the USSR. He grew up on both sides of the Iron Curtain. He ended up here. Why would that be so? And why was he so easy for the FBI to catch? These days, the FBI couldn't catch a cold. We have slipped very badly, I'd say. Kaarlo had good reasons to be suspicious. He saw the dark side of what human nature could produce. We could all use a little distrust right now. Those in authority are violating our trust. Trust is hard to violate when you have so little left over.

Kaarlo Tuomi died in Florida in the mid nineties. While the Soviet Union was still in existence, he was marked for death for having helped the USA. But he lived, and the Soviet Union died. At least the commies are at bay for now. Or so many may think.

What's this?!

This is basically what I've been banging my drum about over for the last 13 years on this here blog. Actually, the discussion is really about the decadence side of ME. A keyboard warrior cannot solve our problems. You have to get out there and DO things. But alas. It is mostly too late for me. I'm not particularly well right now. The trouble is, these kinds of things do not get better. You only get older, then you don't, and when that happens, you're dead.

Maybe that is an excuse. Always there's an excuse. I'm too old! I'm not well! Actually, I've been using these types of excuses forever. If this blog is anything, it is about recognizing truth. The hardest ones to recognize are the ones looking back at you in the mirror in the morning.

A nation in decline? That's what started this post. I googled it and came up with a Zero Hedge post that pointed me to this link. Trump says "we're a nation in decline". Well, no shit. But it is a revelation for the people who keep hoodwinking us into following them into the abyss.

Here's a thing that I'm going to have to object to. We should not seek Empire! If there's any Empire to seek, it is the Empire of virtue. These are not monetary.

Money doesn't feed you. It is just a medium of exchange. If the sheet heets the fan main, all of the money in the word won't help you. You have to feed, house, and clothe yourselves by dint of your own effort. Money is just a piece of paper. Even if it is gold, you cannot eat it!

Being an old and sick fart doesn't inspire anyone, I'm sure. All I can do at this point is bitch, bitch, bitch. Of course, nobody pays any damned attention. Not even my folks reads this damned blog.

At some point you might ask, then why the fuck do you keep at this? The answer? I don't friggin' know. I guess the alternative is death, and nobody likes that. Me neither. I hate that, but it is inevitable. Unfortunately, it is inevitable for us all. Nobody likes to hear about it. We are in denial about that reality CONSTANTLY.

There is hope in the new generation. Maybe. Or maybe there won't be a new generation because too many in the new generation are busy destroying their future. A really glum thought.

You can always change your mind and attitude. Miracles can happen, and it may take one. We are truly in need of one. There! I've finished my rant. Not that it will make any difference, but there's always a hope that it might.

China is said to be on their way to making a thorium molten salt reactor

Why should we care? It's an old story here. Just watch the video, and you will see nothing you haven't seen before on this blog.

Too bad that they got the technology from us because we couldn't or wouldn't do it ourselves. The Obama Administration was about to destroy ALL of the knowledge about it that was languishing at Oak Ridge, but a hue and cry put a stop to that. Instead, Obama gave it to the Chinese. Yay! /sarc

After destroying a tech that would have made an energy crisis disappear, our leaders in their great wisdom, are trying to destroy Elon Musk for trying to build a rocket that could make the human race multiplanetary. The Chinese are copying Musk's technology. Gee, why would this administration do that? /eyeroll

Perhaps these can be used to spot asteroids that could be mined too

Instapundit link: NEO, NASA's next leap in planetary defense.

A spacecraft in development could be posted at an ( Earth-Sun ) LaGrangian point. From there, it may well spot hard to see hazardous asteroids early enough in time for us to do something about them.

A carbonaceous asteroid will be quite dark, and if it is the glare of the sun, it is impossible to see from the ground.

My question is this: if a carbonaceous asteroid can be located that could be captured and used for space travel, then why not? These things could weigh an enormous amount, perhaps millions of tons. If they could be harvested, it would provide a lot of fuel for deep space missions, like to Mars.

I asked GAB AI the following:

Name some potential hazardous asteroids, and characterize them in terms of their mass and dimensions please.

Apophis: This asteroid, with the potential to cause global devastation, has an estimated mass of 5,000,000,000 kg and dimensions of approximately 1,100 feet in length. Its close approach in 2029 raised concerns about a potential impact, although subsequent calculations have since ruled out a collision.

Bennu: Discovered in 1999, this near-Earth object has a mass of about 70,000,000 kg and measures around 500 meters in diameter. Its irregular shape and potential for fragmentation have made it a subject of interest for future impact assessment studies.

Ryugu: This carbonaceous asteroid, visited by the Japanese spaceprobe Hayabusa2, has a mass of approximately 4,000,000,000 kg and dimensions of roughly 900 meters in length. Its surface is covered in boulders and contains organic compounds that could potentially be used for space exploration or scientific research.

Eureka: A binary asteroid system, Eureka has a mass of around 5,000,000 kg and dimensions of approximately 230 meters in length. It orbits Mars and is considered a potential target for future human exploration or resource utilization.
