The real choice in this election
Let's get to the point of the matter, shall we? How do you distinguish the two candidates for the highest office in the land? On the one hand, we have a billionaire, and on the other, a self-proclaimed member of the "middle-class". If we take her at her word, an iffy proposition in its own right, she is a mediocrity. Ah! That's impolitic to say! But it is the truth. If you are in the middle, aren't you just ordinary? Whereas, there really aren't that many billionaires.
In other ways, it's not hard to see how Harris is anything but a mediocrity. She just doesn't shine in any way that makes her exceptional. What has she ever done that she distinguished herself? Anything at all? How did she rise to the top? Mostly by accident, it would seem. Certainly, she did not distinguish herself in her first run at the presidency in 2020. She was the one of the first, if not the first, to drop out of the primaries. She didn't win a single one of them.
Trump on the other hand, won his first run at an elective office. He ran against the power elite, and beat them at their own game. He had distinguished himself in many other ways. Therefore, in terms of personal achievement, there is no comparison.
But it all goes further than that. The political left seems to hate achievement. Those who succeed at anything are considered VILLAINS. Whereas, the only thing that the ruling class can do well is to live off the public teat. They are professional "public servants", who have a great propensity to get rich along the way in "serving" the public.
There are those who can disinguish themselves in public service, but Kamala Harris cannot be said to be one of those. She hasn't had a military background. Her successes came from being lucky enough to be in a position to take advantage of a one-party state, that only elects Democrats, and who are content with running their formerly "Golden State" right into the ground.
It goes to show you how achievers are leaving that state. It is also well to remember that Elon Musk has left that state, and now these "public servants" are trying to have him thrown into jail for daring to oppose them.
Musk's SpaceX is one of the things that the country can be proud of. But that won't fare too well if they succeed in having him jailed. Little wonder why the country is going down the tubes. If you don't kow-tow to the envying mediocrities, you may find yourselves in the Gulag. This is like killing the Goose Who Lays the Golden Eggs. What kind of sense is there in that?
Another notable thing is that in recent years, due to fracking, the country is no longer so dependent upon foreign oil for energy. If left up to the Kamala Harris types, that will no longer apply. We'd have to depend upon foreign sources of energy, while we starve to death in the dark.
Equality of outcome doesn't work too well in places where it has been tried. If it is tried here, we'll just be another sad story in a long list of sad stories of countries that tried that and learned the hard way that it doesn't bring out the best in its people.
We need to stop punishing success and the successful. Mediocrity cannot be helped, but often needs help. We shouldn't need to go outside our own country for what we've always been able to do for ourselves. This has been true for most of our history, and for most of our history, we honored personal achievement.
Let the envying mediocrities make messes of their own lives, and not mess up a good thing for the rest of us. If pushing excellence makes one a "fascist", the by golly, we need a whole lot more of it. Communism is always a graveyard for mediocrities, and even communists know better than to destroy their own geniuses.
Her "crowds" come to see the celebrities she has invited, not her

It's a psy-op?
The theory here is the audience is intended for the marginal voters in swing states. The premise is that the election is close, but what if it isn't? That's why you go big, or go home. A big win obviates this strategy.
The Trump-Hitler story is a psyop.

I mean that literally, not figuratively. It’s a military-grade, multi-stage psychological operation, engineered to re-energize demoralized Harris supporters and—through stigmatization—reduce turnout among Trump supporters.

Don't be the guy who gets the flag for retaliation against the cheap shot
It seems that there was some talk on the Democrat side that they would try to provoke Trump into saying or doing something that wouldn't help him. Could it be, with all this lawfare, and phony accusations, that they are merely provoking him to say something intemperate and unwise?
Therefore, if one understands the tactic, one shouldn't fall victim to it. If they try to be provocative, just shrug it off.
Indeed, casting it as nothing more than a Hail Mary, may be the best way to handle it. But someone like me would want to make them pay for trying it.
You have to be careful about not giving them exactly what they want. The temptation is to clobber somebody who continually tries to provoke you into a fight. But it is always the one who retaliates as being the one who gets punished. The trick is to get the other guy punished for what is truly his own fault for trying to pick the fight. That means getting out in front of it, and show it for what it is.
When Jimmy Carter did that in that debate, when Carter was being mean, Ronald Reagan had that great response---"there you go again".
Close the deal
If you believe the polls, Trump is leading the race. That's a big "if". Allowing for it to be true, it behooves a candidate to do whatever is necessary to secure that win.
So how do you do that?
Harris wants to paint Trump as dangerous. Trump has to show that he is not. He has to parry her thrusts effectively. To say that she is desperate is perhaps too obvious. You have to show why she is wrong. That could be done, I think, within reason. Dismissing all charges as desperation isn't quite good enough. I'd say that the Trump response could get better.
Even so, Harris is no position to claim innocence.
I'd hate to see a winnable race get lost because someone gets overconfident. Just saying.
The best outcome is a blow out win, but even a blow out win will get trimmed by cheating. A close win could get stolen. A close loss could become a leftist mandate. Do be careful that you don't let up the pressure, and start relaxing. A bad surprise is definitely not the ticket this time around.

Messala death scene, Ben Hur (1959)
There was something on the web that I just saw that reminded me of this. I won't link to it. It made me think that there really are people that want to make you hate them. I keep seeing that this affinity for hatred, and wonder what is driving it.
It's a trap. That seems to be the message of that entire film. Messala wanted Ben Hur to hate him. Here's the scene in the flick. The author of the book upon which the movie was based, was a Civil War vet.
