AOC doubles down on losing bet

There's nothing new here to write about, which is the remarkable thing. For awhile there, things seemed to breaking. A little reflection though shows that it's Friday, and that means nothing's going to happen in Congress. Maybe it was all a staged thing to get attention.
In the meantime, another GOP representative is leaving before the term is over. Seems like this is an attempt to shut down any attempt at sunlight. I was skeptical that anything would come of this, as there are too many in the GOP who are cooperating with the Democrats. Even if impeachment passed the House, it wouldn't get anywhere in the Senate. Not to say that they shouldn't do it, but there's little reason to suspect that this will get anywhere. Although for awhile there, it seemed like something real had a chance to happen. It was another fake out.

This post is getting as convoluted as this story. It looks like the story is blowing up in some way. Either it is blowing up into an impossible to ignore scandal on the Bidens, or it is blowing up on the GOP committee which is conducting these hearings. But it is definitely getting deeper and deeper into the doo-doo. The Tarlov thing may have been related to the committee hearing from a Democrat congresslady, who made an accusation very similar to the one Tarlov made.

This is getting deeper all the time. I haven't followed this all that closely. It seems like there's a conflict in testimony amongst the Biden's themselves. I speculate that this is the reason that Hunter Biden won't go before the committee again. Obviously the discrepancy would be addressed, and it is hard to see how he could answer it.

Are we happy yet?
There's some mention out there about how happy people are, or aren't these days.
This seems especially true for the young folks. Well, guess what? The youngsters are unhappy because they aren't being taught the kinds of things that promote happiness. Indeed, they are being taught the reverse.
What makes me so sure of that? Let's take an example to illustrate. There's this drumbeat about the planet being destroyed by mankind's inventions. In particular, the AGW situation. If there's one thing that NOBODY need to worry about and that is AGW. There's no merit to that argument at all. Therefore, if you don't worry about it, then by default, you should be happier than you were before.
But there's so much to worry about! Let me tell you something. People out there are making a living out of making you worry. Your happiness is your own responsibility. Tune out the noise!
As with many things, that's easier said than done. The one thing that has always been true, even in the "good old days", is that watching the news may require you to get a drink. The news has always been bad. Stop watching so much news then. It's like the old Hee Haw gag with the doctor. It went like this--- a patient complains to the doctor, "it hurts when I do this". The doctor replies, "then don't do that!". yuk, yuk. It's funny but true.
If you want to be happy, then stop doing those things that don't promote your happiness. It's as simple as that.
In short, it's like Abe Lincoln once said. People are about as happy as they make up their minds to be. And so it goes.

Stabilized the rotation
3/19/24:
I probably should have mentioned where I found this information. It was on Matt Lowne's youtube channel. Also, there was a mention of another X video, showing strong evidence that the rotation most likely was the reason for the breakup of the Starship.
The rotation appears to put unprotected parts of the Starship in harm's way to the plasma created by the re-entry. If that's so, then the Starship could not survive re-entry. The heat shield cannot protect the ship if it is in the wrong position during re-entry.

The best part of this video is the launch--at the beginning. It appears to be in slow-motion. The movement of the cloud approaches the location of the camera in a manner not unlike the pyroclastic flows of a volcanic eruption. It probably wouldn't be healthy to be standing there when that ship launched. It's hard to tell how far away this was, but it could have been several hundred yards.
