If he's serious, then have at it. There wouldn't be a default, as long as interest payments are made. The principal could be rolled over. Revenues still enter the Treasury, so the government is going to have funds. In order to make ends meet, there would have to be a number of employees who would have to go home for awhile, until the matter is resolved. At the end of that period of time, the country might discover that the roof didn't fall in. It always has been a scare tactic. Will it work for them again? Maybe not. We'll see.

Is Elon Musk a part of a cult?

Vice News presents some critical stuff about Elon Musk

There's a "documentary" that's on Tubi, and I have to wonder if this is a hit job. However, even if it is, they may have a point. Musk has his lot of true believers who follow him like a God-like entity. But there may be some disillusionment out there. Perhaps some axes to grind, too.

It is produced by Vice News, and I haven't checked them out. What I DO know at this point is that Musk was providing them with the hoped for goal of decarbonizing the automotive industry, and then he took over Twitter. Since then, it has been all downhill with the political left. Now they want to put him in jail.

What I also know is that he developed his rockets, and those rockets are taking over the launch industry. So the guy produces things that appear to work, but then again, does Tesla really work? Their stock price is astronomically high. In a properly valued market, it shouldn't be this high.

Cult-like behavior may be more a left-wing phenomenon. If this transfers over to the so-called "right", I'd be a bit surprised. But be aware that people are inclined to believe in things, and he seems to provide people with what they want to believe.

Of course, they've said the same thing about Trump. Now the two have joined together. At this point, I will stop, and check out the producer of this "documentary". Ok, I did a quick lookup because I wasn't familiar with them. Vice News is popular, which to me, doesn't necessarily mean a thing except that they know how to get popular.

For me, it is a cautionary tale. Don't let myself get sucked up into this cult following. But people say that about Trump. In my case, I don't think of Trump that way. What I really think is that the political left want to harm this country, and that they've made a lot of phony ass accusations against him. And now it is coming back to haunt them.

By the way, Obama was considered a type of Messiah figure as well. People want to believe in things. They are succeptible to the golden-calf idolatry thing. It is a cautionary thing here.

Quick update:

Just watching this story develop, and I haven't any definite opinions other than one thing--it's political. The Democrats lost, and this is how they will choose to fight. That is, this is how they will fight for now.

Gourmet cooking?

Another egg recipe

Or better known as the lazy man way of cooking breakfast. I like eggs, and damn the high prices. Bacon too. Damn the high prices and high fats. Sharp cheddar cheese. Tomatoes. Toast. There's a downside. Cleaning up afterwards. Making bacon entails a lot of grease and such. So there has to be a way to deal with the bacon grease. I eat it!

I'm sure that will gross out some folks. But bacon grease mixed up with eggs will cause the eggs to cook more evenly in a microwave. I recently discovered that trick. It does come out looking like a hockey puck though. So, I'm perfecting the technique. I took the time down to 1:45, but it's still hockey puckish. Next time, it will be a bit shorter on the time in the microwave.

The bacon goes in the air fryer. I like it crisp, but not burnt. That requires some time adjustment as well. I cook one side at 7 minutes at 400 degrees. The other side for 4 minutes at 400 degree F. Between the two sides, I pour off the bacon grease, and put it in a bowl, Add the eggs and cook the eggs, while finishing the other side of the bacon.

The bacon goes in aluminum foil, which is discarded afterwards during the cleanup. In order to not have a bunch more bacon grease, I set a piece of bread inside the foil, with the bacon on top. That makes the toast while finishing the bacon. Also, after two minutes in the air fryer, I add some cheese to melt it before serving.

Then I cut up a tomato while the eggs and bacon are cooking. The bacon comes out crispy, there's little mess to clean up, and the eggs come out of the bowl pretty easy without sticking, thanks to the bacon grease.

It's a pretty good system. Maybe not as good as in Goodfellas, while they were in prison, and not the same dish, but it works for me.
