Rats are running wild

Did you ever get the feeling that things simply cannot be true? One of those things is that the Rasmussen President Approval Tracking Poll has Biden about 43%. That never has made much sense to me. Why would Rasmussen also show Track of Country polls consistently in the red when their presidential tracking poll doesn't move much? How is this even possible? There has to be an explanation.

Likewise the voting patterns. Why would people return Biden to office when he is such a bad president? There's gotta be an explanation. Why would the poll not move when he is obviously mentally impaired? You get reasonably intelligent people saying very questionable things, like the things that certain officials like Supreme Court Justices say. There is no reasonable foundation for such a thing to be said, but there it is. It should not be, but there it is.

Then you have the 2020 election with all the funny business that went on. Polling places stopping counting and so forth. Then you have GOP types who won't lift a finger about it. Not to mention those who actually help the Democrat obstruct any investigation. A Supreme Court that refuses to get involved. None of this made any sense to me. But there's got to be an explanation.

So I find the following. A way to find the corruption may be at hand. Let us hope so. This debate aftermath doesn't make sense, and the poll numbers don't make sense, and the phony hysterics of Democrats don't make sense, unless it is part of a plan. All of it is, I suspect. In short, I smell a rat. A whole damned bunch of them!!!

A short blurb on the Biden interview on ABC

For awhile now, I've had some misgivings about overplaying this Biden is senile angle. Of course he's impaired. But he is so much more than that. There is substantial problems with what he said OUTSIDE of the obvious malaprops, bad grammar, and yes senility. He is a very bad man.

All of the criticism of his weaknesses may have help him in the long run.

People should focus on the substance of what he is saying. Also on the obvious untruths. Some pundits are doing this. That's good, but some may be losing focus on the substance. Democrats are very good at obfuscation. Beware of that. For example, Biden didn't stop Putin. He claims he did, but he didn't. He didn't beat Big Pharma. He made them substantially richer. He didn't get a cognitive test, but he sure makes it sound like he did. He tries to claim control of the border, but that's just not so. If he had control, then why are there the problems?

He was definitely behind the politically motivated criminal charges against Trump. Remember the third leading guy in the DOJ helping out the with Manhattan Trial? Biden has his fingerprints on that and more. Smith is trying to prosecute as a special prosecutor, but he has no authority to do so. He wasn't properly appointed. Rule of law? Bah! He won't release the transcript of his interview with Hur, which would show that he would be convicted in a court of law if he wasn't old and "well-meaning". If Biden is really "well-meaning", then why are there so many bad problems right now? Many of these problems are within his ability to have mitigated, but he has done otherwise. The war in Ukraine is definitely one of those. Ukraine is his cocaine addled son's ATM machine.

Biden is guilty of influence peddling and may well be guilty of treason. He has sold out this country. He is protecting terrorists and their sympathizers by making them a protected class.

Nobody should forget these things while they focus on his obvious personal failings.

He is not worthy of support in any universe except the one that one may inhabit if they share his addled views. That's not good enough. We should be able to do better, but how can we if we won't hold him accountable? He has the most amazing ability to con his way out of his difficulties, and he may be doing it again. Never underestimate the power of stupid. It is clear that to keep this man in power is unforgivably stupid considering his condition. But even despite that, his policies and his total lack of character make him singularly unfit to be POTUS. To let them obfuscate that over all his other failures is worst stupidity of them all. Ignorance may be an excuse, but stupidity is terminal.

Tesla Cyber Truck (review video. psst. It's not mine)

I sure hope his rockets are better than his cars. Kilmer got this in a raffle. Tell ya what. I wouldn't waste money on a raffle in order to try to get this junk. There's such a thing as Cyber punk. Is there something called Cyber junk? I used to work out of a pickup truck. I'd wouldn't have anything to do with this. This thing is uglier than Basil's mother.

7.6.24:

Political violence dead ahead?

7.6.24:

If Slow Joe has gotta go, resignation won't do. Neither will replacing him at the DNC. There have been PRIMARIES. These have LEGAL consequences. You cannot just have FAKE primaries, then overrule them at your whim, donks. Besides, if you're replacing him because he is SENILE, this means he has to go---PERIOD. To satisfy the requirements of law, he must be declared incompetent via the 25th Amendment.

Let's see if this political ruling class of ours has the integrity to admit the truth. That's not likely, but not impossible.

end of update of 7/4/24 post

7.4.24:

11:30 AM:

Just in case you thought this was a conspiracy theory...

10:56 AM

The only way out that involves some integrity and fidelity to the law, is to hold a vote in Congress according to the 25th Amendment. If Slow Joe hasn't got what it takes anymore, then he can be shown the door, and it would be legal straight down the line.

On the other hand, if they think that they can just replace Slow Joe after all the primaries, then they are making a mistake. As typical lefties though, they don't follow the law. They just try their damndest to get around the law. There are legal requirements that have to be made in order for them to make a switch. These have to be honored, but guess what? The RINOS will bail them out, as usual. They already did in Ohio.

end of 7.4.24 update of 7.2.24 post:

The guy in this video expresses some thoughts here that I'm having.

Also, Brandon himself goes on the air to denounce the immunity decision, and says that only a President's good character will stop him from violating the law because the Courts won't. You know what? That's what I wrote yesterday. The trouble is, Brandon and his party have failed the character test for a long time now.

The Constitution provides for a rogue president, in theory, but the theory doesn't work because of partisan politics. There's simply no way the Democrats are going allow one of their own to be removed. That's not true of the Republicans. Nixon had to resign because his party deserted him. This would never happen to a Democrat. Look at the Democrats now, for heaven's sake. The 25th Amendment could free them of the Biden problem, but they won't do it. They can't. They don't have the character.

So the guy in the video below is talking about the calls to assassinate Trump. He said his eyes were opened in 2020. But the evidence was there well before then. There was nothing that was kosher about the "Russia Russia Russia" claptrap. I railed against it again and again on this blog. So I'm not just blowing smoke. I can back that up. Read the blog!

How long has the system been broken? For a long time. How to fix it? That's what they call "a good question".

Angry Astronaut is keeping it real

7.6.24:

More rocket equation calcs show that a 200t cargo capacity MAY be achieveable with what they've got. That is, if it is in expendable mode AND significant mass reductions in the two stages are accomplished. The second stage Starship is a given. But the booster needs to lighten up too. It needs to lighten up by a lot. I figure about 70 tons between the two of them. Otherwise, no can do.

To make things even more interesting, the Jumbo sized combo package, aka Version 3, can get a lot more than 200k per launch in expendable mode. Let's say twice as much useful cargo, giving it about 400t in LEO.

That's sticking with the current profile as closely as possible, without any more alterations. Further efficiencies could involve making a third stage that would chuck the nine engine second stage, and use a different propulsion method to go trans-lunar and landing. You might have as much as 6 km/sec of delta V to play with, provided that you ditch the unnecessary parts as you go, which is what Apollo did. In such a case, 50t may be landed on the moon. (I'm guessing on that one.) If the guess is anywhere in the ballpark, then a direct lunar shot could deliver the 100t that Musk promised before. Two cargo shots, plus the human lander as the third, which has to do a roundtrip from the Gateway.  (Update: piece of cake!)

Refueling would be ditched in favor of a triple landing, which involves great precision in the landing on the lunar part. Not to mention everything else.

Since I'm probably talking out my ass here, include a belated speculation alert.

end of 7.6.24 update of 7.5.24 post

7.5.24:

I did some more tinkering with the rocket equation. It is indeed feasible to get more mass to orbit this way. But catching the booster at the launch site would be OUT. Of course, that is why Musk is making his rocket even bigger. He has already thought about this. Evidently, he prefers to make it bigger than to try an ocean catch. But is the ocean catch out of the question? I guess we'll see eventually.

Anyway, the first stage could definitely be made to work to get 200t up to low Earth orbit. Doing that and making it reusable at the same time is the question.

end update of 7.4.24 post:

12:08 PM

Perhaps Elon Musk is already thinking about this. There was an idea to get an offshore platform, and land the Starship out there. Did that idea die, or is it just put on hold for now?

Let's say that he put an offshore platform out there in the way of the trajectory. The booster comes down and it lands like the Starship. But wait! It has no fins. Ok, put some on. But that would cost a lot in weight! Maybe not. The wings do not have to be large, nor heavy, nor robust. Just strong enough to get by at Mach 5 speed. Or less. Maybe a maneuver to slow it down, and then do a free fall belly flop like with Starship. Anyway, it is a thought.

Oh, by the way... How to get it back to base? Fly it back, and catch it as before... Just need to gas up and take off.

end update of 6:57 AM post.

6:57 AM

Sadly, the Angry Astronaut may be on the right track here. After playing around with some numbers in the old rocket equation, it appears that the booster may be way too heavy. The Angry Astronaut focused on the Starship ( second stage ), but it is actually both parts of the vehicle.

Because the first stage is too heavy, it cannot get the Starship up to speed it needs. Thus, the Starship needs to be more robust, but it is also too heavy. Musk's solution is to make the Booster/Starship even bigger.

It may well prove to be an unworkable solution. I'm still in the preliminary stage of my tinkerings with the rocket equation. A closer view of the launch video shows a stage separation below Mach 5. This low of a velocity means that a large proportion of the propellant must be used in getting the booster back to the launch site because it is much more capable of boosting the Starship than this. The booster must therefore be quite heavy as a result. The reason for its massive weight must be in having to boost back to the launch site, and for this, it needs a lot of propellant. That's my working theory for the time being.

Note: I left this post, and fiddled with the rocket equation some more. I tested this theory, and I think it is probably on the right track.

By the way, there has been some videos discussing a possible ocean catch of the booster. This may be an effort to trim the amount of propellant devoted to returning the booster, and to apply it to a larger payload. (haven't tested this one yet)

The Regime Media has been lying. So what else is new?

The question is, do enough people give a shit enough to do something about it? You hear a lot of bitching, but not much else. None of this is really new, just like the article says. The thing that is new is that there is an opportunity to do something, but the window is closing as far as actually being able to do something without a civil war. You can fight back in a number of ways...

One of them I saw this morning. You can stop banking and/or doing business with the people who are responsible for this. I've been trying, but it is easier said than done. This bank is one in which I'd like to check out. I'll give 'em a plug. I don't have an account there. Probably better not to disclose that kind of information in a place like this anyway. But I'm trying to help in this way. It may not be the best, but that is an example of what you all can do. Here you go, then. Get moving.

Life is fragile, civilization even more so

7.5.24:

One of the aims of the blog was not to re-invent the wheel. No need to repeat myself any more than absolutely necessary.

I was having this kind of thought this morning after reading about a space rock that whizzed by Earth at 61k mph.  At that speed, and at that mass, we would be history if that thing hit the Earth.  So this is a reminder post of what I've already posted.  Our time here on an individual basis is very short.  Our time here as a civilization is but a blink of an eye on the cosmic level.  We'd better keep that in mind, or we could be out.  Either by our own hands, or by a force much bigger than ourselves.

6.27.12:
That thought just occurred to me.  It pleased me so much that I couldn't resist coming here and putting it up on the blog.

It may be so self-evident that it doesn't need explanation.  But if it does, here goes:  self-preservation is amongst the most primitive and most powerful of instincts of every living thing.   Life is more established and will tend to survive-- self-preservation will see to that.   Life has existed on this planet for almost the entire history of the planet, but civilization is a new thing as far as the history of this planet is concerned.  If push comes to shove, as the saying goes, the weaker will give way.   Life survived the asteroidal impact that destroyed the dinosaurs-- life continued, but the "apex" life forms didn't make it.  Likewise, if something cataclysmic happens- civilization, which is at the apex- could well be the first casualty.

Civilizations have risen and fallen too.  But humans are still around.  Yet there are no guarantees of that either.

Alvin Bragg's case in Nueva York will likely be dismissed?

That's because some of the evidence falls within the purview of the immunity decision, which means it must be tossed out.  If the evidence must be tossed out, then it must be declared a mistrial.  Unless I'm reading this wrong, that's what it says.

Update: Looks like I read it right...

Biden Can't Win But…

Moonbattery (blog)

Spoken like a true moonbat, Nancy Pelosi

If you are inclined to think very deeply about what she's saying in the quote above, you may realize that this is what they've been doing all along.  They've gone batshit crazy with the idea that they have to win or its Armageddon time.  However, by inventing these horror shows in their mind about Armageddon, their behavior may well bring one on.

Of course, they'll never see it coming.  That's what makes them moonbats.  Hopefully, the moonbattery hasn't gone too far.  It's getting scary.  When Pelosi speaks like that, and Supreme Court justices speak like that, the insanity has gotten well-entrenched.

This is an example of the "4D Chess" bullshit we've got on our side

If Trump was 10% as ballsy as they are trying to pass off here, the Dems wouldn't have fucked him over so bad. What a bunch of dorks. Trump is a cream puff. But compared to the rest of the GOP, he's Rambo. That's the trouble we've got.

7/2/24:

Note: I have not read the opinion. Consequently, some of what I have written below may not be entirely correct. For example, I just read an article from the Hill that says that some official acts were mentioned. If that is so, I don't know. Unfortunately, reporting on the news of the day isn't always accurate.

My opinion still holds that this court refused to attend to the election of 2020, and that is what is partly at issue to this very day. The court is timid. However, one should keep in mind the left's continue threats against the Court.

I think this situation is dangerous. Generally speaking, if one looks at it that way, one could see how the court is being intimidated. The left is unhinged. We haven't seen the end of this by any means. Brandon has chimed in now. He is echoing the hysterical reaction that is so typical of the unhinged left.

end update of 7.1.24 post

7.1.24:

The political left is having its usual cow over the SCOTUS decision about Presidential immunity. I find the decision to be the usual thing to expect from this timid court. It doesn't do what the left claims, but since they claim that it does, they might just try to test their theories. Some of them are talking that way.

In short, some of them are claiming a license that surely wasn't given to them.  It has never been given to any president, and certainly not with this timid court.

Therefore, the problem is not this court. Or more accurately, that's not THE problem with this court.  The problem is that one of the political factions (Democrats) is out of control, and there doesn't seem to be a limit upon their passions. The Supreme Court did not impose any limits that weren't already there. The Court didn't grant any immunities to the presidency that weren't already there. There really isn't any way to stop a rogue President, you know. The only way to stop a rogue President is not to put him into office in the first place.  This is to have a president who is actually civilized and law abiding.

I don't get that impression from the leftist side of the aisle.

But Trump!, they'll scream. But here's where they miss the point. Their objection is not upon any grounds for what he actually did, but what they claim he did. ANYBODY can claim something. Just because the political left claims that Trump did this or that, it doesn't make him guilty of it. But that isn't good enough for them. Oh, no. ANY political disagreement is now grounds for criminal charges. This is a trend for the political left for some time now. They will brook no dissent whatsoever, and anyone who disagrees is a bad person. Indeed, Trump hasn't done anything that they have accused him of. No, HIS CRIME is that he won an election, and threatens to win another. Indeed, he has already beaten them twice, and will likely beat them again. This is what really enrages them.

The Supreme Court refused to wade into the issue of who really won in 2020. They are gutless. This was a timid decision too because they refused to define what an official act is and decided to punt the issue to the lower courts. A gutless choice is like the one that gave us Brandon.  We likely won't see an end to the leftist depredations.

For that reason, nothing has been decided here. Nope. It may have to be decided by bloodshed. The Court is too timid to show any courage, and WE THE PEOPLE had better have a lot more than they do. The wolves are now snarling very loudly.  The sheep have no shepherds. Certainly not in THIS court.

"Nobody does the right thing"

6/30/24:

With respect to Brandon's debate debacle, I thought of this again. What would be the right thing to do? The right thing to do would be to follow the law, but if these people had any respect for that, this situation wouldn't have arisen in the first place.

If Brandon is incapable of being President, then he should be removed via the 25th Amendment. Kamala Harris will become President. Then they could decide whatever they want in terms of who the nominee will be. There will be an election, and there will be a result. Everyone should accept it, provided that it is honest ( ha, ha ), and that will be that. That would be the right thing to do.

Will they do it? I think the odds are very low. The right thing to do may be out of reach because these people are not capable of it. They could have done the right thing all along, but instead they didn't. Now we have this. Why would they start doing the right thing? They haven't been doing that up till now.

Update of 12/30/11 post

I was thinking about why the GOP often seems
not to do the right thing, and I remembered this
.

the original post follows:

The following quote from The Sandmonkey in Egypt reminded me of the scene in the Bourne Identity:
That they will act right, despite the fact that throughout the history of humanity, there wasn’t a single proof that people, by themselves, will act right.
Too many people want to trust and believe politics.  It seems to have happened in Egypt.  That is a big, big mistake.  If war is politics by other means, then politics is war by other means too.

A free people need to be a virtuous people.  That's because without virtue, there is only the law of the jungle.  A free people can choose.  A captive people cannot.  Thus, to be free, you have to master yourself, or be mastered by others.
