The left-right political spectrum is BUNK. The thing that's bunk is that they're opposites. They are NOT OPPOSITES. There's not a dime's worth of difference between the two.

Yes, and Hitler and Stalin kicked off World War II with a non-aggression treaty. The Weimar Republic was destroyed via the left and the right because neither of them care much for "democracy". You might want to put that into consideration the next time you hear about the "political spectrum".

The term "Twilight Zone" was used in this post (before updating). Perhaps I wasn't clear what the term was supposed to mean. It may have helped if I was more familiar with the TV show from what back then. Maybe it was on the TV when I was little, but I just don't remember it much. What does Twilight Zone mean to me? In a word, "weird". It had that weird music that introduced it. Rod Serling would give his speech. Actually the speech may have come afterward. Either way, it just seemed weird. That's what I meant. It was "weird".

The re-runs are on Tubi, and I watched a few episodes. What seemed weird before does not seem so weird now. It helps to be more familar with the words one uses. After watching a few of these episodes, I don't think I would've used the term "Twilight Zone" this way. Just thought I would mention that. Over and out.

Did my doctor's visit. My fears were a bit overblown. There's something that needs to be handled, but it is manageable. That's all I got on this. Posting will resume. As Roseann Rosanna Dana would say: "Never mind!"

Anyway, I am up at an hour in which I am usually asleep. I checked the news (big mistake?), and discover that there was a shooting at the event that POTUS was attending. Another assassination attempt.

A doctor's visit has been scheduled, so there's that.

Primary Run-off coming up

Early voting begins on the 18th. It doesn't last all that long. Voting day is on the 26th.

In Texas, you don't have to be registered to either party to vote in the primary. However, for run-offs, you have to stick with the same party. You can't jump parties.

Not too sure if you failed to vote in the first round, if you can vote in the run-off. Maybe you can't vote now if you didn't vote before. Since I voted, I can vote. I will vote. That is, unless I drop dead first.

The first round wasn't too good in my case. I wasn't as prepared as I should've been. Now I am better prepared.

Texas votes on just about everything. That's because of the Constitution adopted after Reconstruction from the Civil War. There was a governor who wouldn't leave. For awhile, Texas had two governors. After that crisis was resolved, the state decided it didn't need a strong governor. So, the governor's office is relatively weak. One way to weaken the governor was to have a lot of elective offices. Thus, the Texas governor cannot appoint his own people.

Having a long ballot requires a lot of effort on the part of voters. Some embarrassments are probably unavoidable. One year, many years ago, a candidate with a well known name won, but was not in any way related to the individual who had that famous name. The guy turned out to be a crook. How embarrassing.

I'd rather not vote for anyone that I don't have some solid information about. Know what I mean, Vern?

What victory in Iran looks like...

No need to be confused.

If there's any confusion, it exists only because some folks want to muddy the waters and have the matter in a confused state.

If Trump didn't take down Iran, they'd have nukes. They'd have the means to deliver them to where they want them to land. That means US bases in the region.

Iran had to have spent tens of billions of dollars to build up a miltary that can control the region. That capability is GONE. There is no need to be confused about that. Iran's military capability has been thoroughly DEGRADED, and won't be back for the foreseeable future. It may not come back in any event, because they are in danger of losing their income source. The blockade may permanently see to that if the oil wells cannot be brought back to production levels that Iran has had before.

There won't be any nukes, nor the means to deliver them. Thanks to the blockade, they'll NEVER have them.

The only thing that they MIGHT keep is power. But power over WHAT? Given their inability to show capacity for control of the region, they just might lose that too. Then the victory will be TOTAL.
