Off-grid post, 2-12-22

I've been watching some battery build videos lately. At first it was like entertainment, but now it seems like something I may want to try out myself.

The thing that is tempting is that you can build one of these things with battery parts that won't cost but about 100 bucks. Throw in a few other things, and voila!-- you have something that is actually usable. Err... usable if you build 3 or 4 batteries and hook up the necessary panels. It may be pretty cheap ( relatively speaking ), but it is still quite a commitment of time and effort.

It is also tempting to put it into the 5x8 trailer. It would be a power trailer that could be hauled around, and hooked up to something like an RV trailer like the one I've been in for the last 5 years.

All of that would be a big project, so that is what holds me back. The 5x8 needs to be upgraded a bit if something like this is contemplated. It would be no trivial matter. However an experimental project to just see how it goes wouldn't entail an installation like that. The battery isn't all that big, and one solar panel might do the trick. It might even fit in an already crowded RV.

Something to consider.

Elon Musk's Update on Starship on Feb 10, 2022

This is the first of these that I've watched live. It was somewhat disappointing in a sense, because there was very little drama. It would be easy to underestimate the man and his machine. That would be a mistake.

The most dramatic part is one in which he understated somewhat when he said that it should be done now. He also said that it was the first time in history of the Earth that this is possible. The window of opportunity is there now, but it could close, he added. That is a pretty dramatic statement, but it was all very understated in my opinion. One could get bored with it all. An asteroid or nuclear war could happen and wipe us all out, what a pity. I think this is a really big deal, and have always thought so. What I wasn't too sure about was the man.

He isn't much for drama and presentation. Yet what he is does is enormous in its consequence. Perhaps this is by design. Perhaps it is part of his genius. Hard to say. But you cannot underestimate what he has accomplished and what is going to be accomplished should that window remain open long enough.

I didn't stick around online for it all. After a few questions from the audience, I decided to shut it off. After reading around the webs this morning, maybe I should have stuck around a bit longer. A few questions teased out a few more details from Musk. That might have been worth sticking around a bit longer.

As impressive as this rocket may turn out to be, it is only a small part of what needs to be done before he can do what he says he wants to do. A million person colony on Mars would be a miracle. As Musk said himself, it won't do to get it 99% self-sustaining. Even if only 1% has to come from Earth, it could die off if you cannot get that 1% to the colony. It must be self-sustaining. That's a pretty tall order.

There will be some course corrections before this is all said and done. But it looks like we could be in for a really interesting ride. That is, unless something happens to close that window. One thing that could delay it is a delay in government approval. But Musk has a backup plan to launch from Florida if he cannot do it yet at Boca Chica.

He also needs a market for his product. It is all well and good to be able to get 100 tons to orbit, but who will use that capability? That hasn't materialized. At first, the only user of his services may be his own company. Getting a market for this service is vital if the cost per launch is to be brought down to the level he claims he can reach. He mentioned a number like a million dollars per launch ( or was it 2 million?). I ran the numbers on that. At 10 bucks per pound, that is dirt cheap. This makes it accessible to the broad public, and that could be the large market he needs. For this little money, would the public be willing to hitch a ride on his magnificent flying machine?

All in all, he is not a great salesman. His product is dynamite, though. It doesn't need that much glitz to dazzle. It speaks for itself.

Babylon Bee is merciless

Babylon Bee is merciless

This reminds me of the episode in the 70's sitcom "All in the Family", in which the Meathead says to Archie--"Day by day, you eat my heart out". To which Archie replies: "I don't care". Hilarious.

Actually these pinkos think we should be their bs like all the rest of their zombie followers do.

Wise crack

Babylon Bee zinger

The serious news is that the administration is giving out free crack pipes. Bongino says this is so bad that media has to cover for them. So Babylon Bee is cracking them over the head with their crack pipe crack up. It might crack you up a bit.

It has been said that humor requires it to have a bit of truth to it. This one is true on two counts, but not on the whole. They are worried about the bad PR, or ought to be. They would have no trouble giving away free crack pipes, though. But they'd never require a proof of vaccination. Nope. Those are for the people they don't like. Normal people.

If I did a fact check on it, I'd say it is only a slightly wrong. Maybe a little bitty pinochio, but it is humor. So that's okay.

This kind of humor has a bite, though. But some folks might like that.

Year Zero of murderous Pol Pot communist regime = "Great Reset" of today

Year Zero of murderous Pol Pot communist regime = "Great Reset" of today

Bongino has been talking about the Great Reset lately. Then I came across the above link. So I made the jump and said they are both the same. It meshes very well with the commie line I've been taking.

There won't be an end to this unless some blood is shed. Either a little or a lot. The sooner these commies are stopped, the less pain and suffering there will have to be in order to cut that cancer out of the body politic.

Yep, I think it is that stark a choice. These people are really bad news.

James Carville

Carville is close to the Clinton wing of the Democrat Party. There's a post on Insty that quotes Carville a bit. He's talking about the same schtick that the Clintons managed to fob off on the public in the nineties. It was a scam then, and it is a scam now.

Carville may be right to blame the noisy wing of the party, which I think of as commies. The commies are very forceful and loud these days. Carville is just telling them to shut up, or what? Leave? Carville needs these people. Basically, Carville is telling them to shut up, and let the Clintonoids fool the public again. The scam is this left-right-center paradigm that I've been talking about. That's a false paradigm that is meant to fool people into doing what the leftists want them to do. It invariably leads us to the point that we are in today. If the Bushes and Clintons hadn't opened the door to the leftists, they wouldn't be in the position today to demand full, complete, and permanent power. That's the hallmark of communism. All Carville is a slicker version of a communist. The left right center paradigm always leads to communism. That's why it was invented.

There are those on the so-called "right" who continue to call themselves that. These people may appear to be solidly in the camp for freedom. But why use the commie paradigm if they truly are? The correct way to proceed to be on the side of freedom, and never use that word "right" as a descriptor. Freedom is antithetical to slavery. Communism is slavery. Define it that way and you win every time. Nobody in the right mind wants to be a slave. Only a small minority wants slaves, and only a small minority wants to be slaves; the rest prefer to be free.

Ronald Reagan defined it properly and won. He was the most successful GOP politician in recent times. Why do the rest of the GOP insist upon playing the commies' game? Reagan didn't, and Reagan won 49 states. He could have won all 50, but let Mondale win his home state of Minnesota. He did that in deference to George Washington, who remains the only President to get a unanimous vote in the electoral college.

Bush ran as a continuation of Reagan, but he didn't mean it. He ran as a compassionate conservative. As if slavery is compassion or something. So Bush just fooled the public into thinking that he believed what he didn't. That's how we got to where we are. If he had remained true to the Reagan Revolution, he wouldn't have been defeated. We don't need fakes posing as freedom fighters.

The Bushes are the model of what's wrong in the GOP. They connive with the commies in the Democrat side to continue pushing the commie paradigm as if it was better than freedom. They do this to this very day, as George W Bush supports Liz Cheney. The Bushes and Cheneys are no friend to Reaganism. They never really were, and only pretend when it is to their advantage to pretend. It is the same kind of scam that Carville is trying to pull.

Carville is just a fraud as are the Bushes and Cheneys. Nobody needs these commies except the Bushes, Cheneys and Clintons of this world. Separate from them and free America. But that is not what Carville is about. Don't be fooled.

Science is respected, supposedly; but is it understood?

The word "science" got bandied about quite a bit during this so-called "pandemic". Pardon the air quotes for "pandemic", as my skepticism was kicked into overdrive once I suspected political motives. When Times Square kept a "Trump Death Clock", you know that politics is involved. At least, I did. Therefore, those who used the word science were only using it because it had a magical power about it. It had a magical power in the political sense because people respect science. Anything that attaches itself to that word has more repect for it as a consequence. But this isn't earned if it isn't true.

You can argue incessantly about the "science", but in the end, you'll have to decide these things for yourself. Albert Einstein once said that if you cannot explain it to a six year old, you don't understand it. Once someone tries to pull the expert tone on you, you can be assured that the effort is not to enlighten; but to confuse. It doesn't matter what title that person has. If that person doesn't explain it so anybody can understand, then they basically don't know what they are talking about--- or they are lying. If you dispute it, you may be accused of denying the science. Nope. Science is not some priestly caste dispensing its mysteries upon us all. It is thoroughly ground in truth, and if it cannot be explained to the average Joe, then it doesn't matter who is doing the explaining.

In other words, don't surrender your mind even though there are people out there demanding that you do just that.

How do you weed through all the "misinformation" out there, then? A lot of it is fairly easy. Covid was supposed to kill millions. It didn't happen. True, the death count is supposedly nearing a million, or so they say. It is also true that hospitals got money for reporting a covid death. It is also true that the "covid test" reported out a great deal many more "cases" than was actually the case. The results were rigged to make it appear to be much worse than it was.

Some of the fog of all this is getting cleared up by the day. Covid deaths have been greatly exagerrated. This fact and many more will become more and more obvious. So we did all the shutdowns, masks, and mandates because somebody said the magic word -- "science!", and people surrendered their minds to the magic word.

Here in Texas, there are few people wearing masks. Life is mostly back to normal. You still see masks in some places. These people are more afraid of being sued than in getting sick with covid. Frankly, I think this was ALWAYS the case. It was never about the health issue. It was a financial and political issue. Which boils down to politics, as politics and money are closely related.

Now that Covid may be winding down, what's next? It seems that we may see some movement towards more lockdowns and such on the basis of a climate "emergency". In order to support all this ginned-up fear, the magic word "science" will once more be trotted out. Hopefully the response will not be what the commies want, and people will demand far more evidence for all the fear-mongering.

I was just reading about communism while browsing the web. It didn't work the way Marx had predicted. It was supposed to start in rich countries. Instead, it was the poor countries; like Russia. So they changed tactics. The commies started the idea of the Frankfort School. The idea was to take over the "high ground" of a civilization, and make their revolution from the top down. It certainly does appear that they've managed to seize the high ground of Western Civilization. The question now is whether or not that can "succeed" in rich countries as it has in some of the poorer countries.

Communism cannot succeed anywhere, really. It can only succeed if it has total control. That's because nobody in their right minds would choose to live that way, and the commies know it. So they have to trick people into giving up their minds and let themselves be subjected to the rule of communists. Once that happens, it becomes nearly impossible for it to be reversed.

You can be assured that the covid thing wasn't about health. It was about politics. The next step would be to manufacture new "emergencies" so that they can claim full power. Once that happens, the only way to change things back would require that blood literally would be running in the streets.

The Democrats seem to get a solid 40% of the people. But they don't have 40% of the people because a good many of those 40% don't understand who they are getting in bed with. The communists will take away private property. Of those 40% who are voting with the Democrats, who in turn are allying themselves with hard-core leftists; a good many are home-owners. If they knew for a fact what these people intend to do to them, they would RUN away from these commies. A good many in the Senate might have voted against the recent "commies forever" bill to forever rig elections in their favor. But they keep the "party" together by pretending to be allied with those who they shouldn't have anything to do with.

The communists are pretty bold these days. In the days when communism was deemed to be dangerous ( as it truly is), they had to HIDE. They aren't hiding so much anymore. They think their time has come. The commies may be right if people don't wise-up and soon. The covid crisis was ginned-up. There will be more like it because this one worked too well. The next one could be about climate or about Russia. But it is bound to be about something that will give them the excuse to demand more power and control.

Give one thing to the commies, they are a persistent bunch. If the Russian thing doesn't work, they'll try something else. That might be a "climate emergency". They'll use the ruse of science to try to get that past the people. You might find yourself in masks, and eating bugs if they let you live. That's how it goes in commie-run societies.

There are some who believe that this covid thing was a Malthusian plot to kill off a lot of people. It may have been. It it were to be discovered as such, they'll claim that the "science" tells them that there are too many people on Earth. If science were to be truly discussed on this issue, it might well be the case that the Earth could support billions more people. The amount of resources will claim to be insufficient. But resources don't go away. That's the science of it. You cannot destroy matter. Burn up the fossil fuels, but the molecules that make up the fossil fuels are still there. That's the science. You don't ever really use up the matter. It is still there. It is a matter of rearranging the molecules, and you have the fuel all over again. It takes energy, and there's plenty of that. They told us about an energy crisis in the seventies, but that was another one of their lies that was found to be fake, and we have more than we know what to do with.

Commies will lie because they have to, and they know it. Lenin said as much. The Communist Manifesto said a dictatorship of the proletariat will be necessary because people will not want to embrace communism. They will want to get away from it, but that won't be possible if the commies win. They know full well that people don't want to live that way. Many of the people who are voting for the Democrats do not seem to understand what they are playing around with. Let's hope that they don't cause all of us to find out the hard way.

There is one thing that sets a commie apart from the rest and it is their inherent dishonesty. Scatch a commie, and you will find a liar. The two are inseparable. Therefore, for any claim that is made, DEMAND proof. This may be the best vaccine against a commie. Without their lies, they are dead in the water. Nobody in their right mind wants to live the way the commies will demand that you live. They are in a small minority. Nobody would join them if they knew the truth about them. Truth will beat them every time, and they know it. That's what the cancel culture is about. It cannot stand the disinfecting power of light of truth. Truth is their enemy and it cannot be allowed to come to light.

If science is about anything, it is about the truth. That's the one thing that the commies don't want you to know about. You can take that one to the bank. If they commies use that word, it is to trick you or defeat you. It is never about the truth with them. It is about power. Theirs, not yours. It was never about your health, but theirs. It was never about anything at all, except themselves. That's the biggest of their lies, and it is not about YOU but THEM instead. It's not for you but for themselves. Understand that and you will be prepared for their next lie.

You have to decide

So they're cracking down on the Canadian truckers. The people in Canada now have a choice. They can support the truckers, or they can be slaves. The truckers want the freedom to choose what to put in their bodies. The government says that for anybody to resist them is a criminal. Okay, now you have your choice. Choose to be an outlaw for disagreeing with the authorities, or forever be a slave. That's because once they got you in chains, it's over.

What about here in America? Do we get to choose anymore either? Can you have a disagreement with the powers-that-be, or do you get cancelled like Joe Rogan? That's because if you they don't like your "unacceptable viewpoints", then you must be criminalized. Are we going to be free, or is it time now to accept our chains?

The tyrants are showing us who they are. So what are we? It is time to choose.

We cannot protest the government anymore. Biden said that nothing is absolute. But if you are a slave, that's pretty absolute. The first thing a tyrant does when he has power is to take away your ability to resist. That means your guns. Biden wants your guns and he wants your unquestioning obedience. Or else.

It's time to choose. Everybody will have to choose what the future will be like. We will be free or we won't be. The tyrants are showing us who they are.

Some uneasy feelings

It's getting close to primary season. So, what's the scoop? Does anybody really know what is going on?

The problem with so-called conservatives is that they are about 10 steps behind the pinkos at all times. Stuff that should have been done years ago will finally start to happen. However, the pinkos are already moved on the next thing. An example is the redistricting. After the census, we were told that the left would lose seats from that alone. But that is not what is happening. They are GAINING seats.

While they went chasing around something that should've been done last year, pinkos are getting it done. As I recall, we had a state lockdown for quite some time in the so-called most conservative state in the union. The lockdowns and masks are gone around here, but that hasn't stopped the other crap from going on elsewhere. It is still being dealt with, but the pinkos are getting ready for the next election. What has the "opposition" been doing?

The Russian collusion hoax is still being messed with. By the time they finish with that the Republic will be in the history books.

Does anybody on the so-called "right" know what the f*)k they're doing? I'm thinking that they are going to have a march stolen on them YET AGAIN.

A good general wins battles he shouldn't win and a bad general loses battles he shouldn't lose. Whoever is running this show--"on the right"- is screwing up. It seems to be their usual thing.
