This is pretty bad

Biden better President than George Washington?

Washington made a country. Biden is destroying this country. What are these people thinking? Some of them claim to be Republicans.

A deeper read into the article reveals something's wrong here besides this. Perhaps the people taking the poll actually lied---that or they are ignorant as hell.

RAW EGG NATIONALIST: Vivek is not afraid to bring up 'red pill' issues Americans are being gaslit about

Ramaswamy and DeSantis should duke it out. Nikki Haley and Crhistie should drop out.

J6th a setup, he says

But of course it was. There's another problem in that this lie has been going on for nearly 3 years now. After 3 years, we are talking about the next lie on their list.

You have to get out in front of these phony political games. The perps shouldn't be a step ahead all the time.

Stirling Engines

12/08/23: Update to last post of 10/22/21:

Automakers turning to hybrids?

Actually, they could turn to Stirling Engines, or better yet, Stirling/Electric hybrids. The two types should complement each other nicely. Stirlings take awhile to warm up. A charged battery is ready to go. The Stirling can keep the battery charged, and end range anxiety.

Batteries are expensive and heavy. The batteries could be a lot smaller, and the hybrid Stirling can be smaller too. It has been shown that most trips are less than 45 miles round trip. A small battery could handle that much driving, and the Stirling can keep it charged up, as needed. The amount of power needed would be relatively small for constant speed, which is what is done most of the time. Consequently, the Stirling can keep up with the demand while not having to deliver all the power needed at one time. The electric motor can do that. Extra power for acceleration could come from ultracapacitors, which can also be charged by the Stirling motor.

Nuclear power can supply the energy to convert to hydrogen. Especially true if the cost of energy can come way down, as it is projected with the Focus Fusion device. In the meantime, nuclear power could be used from molten salt reactors. In such a case, no emissions would be produced at all. There would be some waste from the molten salt reactors, and no waste worth mentioning from the Focus Fusion device.

Comment:

This topic isn't new here on this blog, but what is new is this video. I hadn't seen it before. The thing that is different here is that it is a complete engine concept tested in real live situations over a period of time.

A Stirling engine was tested in a truck by NASA. Actually, more than one truck. One of the trucks was a service vehicle used on an airbase in Virginia. The other looked like a regular old pickup truck. The pickup appears to have driven everywhere you'd drive a conventional vehicle.

Popping the hood doesn't reveal anything radically different. It doesn't look like a conventional engine though. Incidentally, this test was done a long time ago. Back in the eighties, perhaps. The vehicle looks that way. It doesn't look modern.

The curious thing is why this technology hasn't been adopted. It is said to be "too heavy". The engine was only 75 hp, but what people don't realize is that most of the horsepower in a conventional engine is unnecessary. Internal combustion engines cannot start under a load. I'm thinking that public acceptance may be low for some reason, or that auto manufacturers may fear taking a chance on something different could be too risky of a decision.

There was a Ford program during the Energy Crisis of the seventies that tested Stirling engines in cars. The fault there was that it took too long to warm up. That could be an issue, but that issue could be overcome if they really wanted to do it.

Why bother with the Stirling engine at all? It is said to be clean and efficient. It can run on any heat source. For me, I'd like to be able to get one as a power generator. But these things are impossible to find. You can certainly find toys, but nothing serious like a generator. What gives?

If you were to scratch the surface of all the things that have appeared to have gone wrong, you might find a common denominator with this question. Just saying. It could well be the thing that I've been discussing since day one on this blog. Our culture may well have become dysfunctional. It is a "better mousetrap", but for some reason, it doesn't succeed. It makes no sense, but there's your common denominator. It's like mandating a vaccine to solve a problem that doesn't exist ( in children, covid is not an issue). If a "vaccine" that doesn't work can be thusly mandated, then it might be easy to understand why a motor that would be cleaner and more efficient cannot be adopted for some strange reason. The highest cost "solution" to solve a non-problem that has the least probability of success is the path taken. The very defintion of dysfunctional.

Update:

NASA report on the Stirling Engine Program

Comment:

After reading through the full report done back in the late eighties, I can see why the Stirling Engine has not replaced the internal combustion engine. For its size, it just doesn't put out the performance.

It could be adequate though. It all depends upon customer expectations. People are a bit used to better performance than these can offer, however. It would not be a marketing hit. It would probably be a dud.

Some folks would find the economy to be an attraction. Yet the internal combustion engine has some room to grow, apparently. The new Eco-boost engine in Fords packs quite a punch for its size. The fuel economy would be pretty good too, I imagine. That's why it was developed.

That doesn't dissuade me from being interested though. The value of this engine is that it doesn't need specialized fuel. It was tested with a lot of different fuels, so it can be used with most anything that can be burned. In fact, it doesn't require anything but a heat source. Therefore, the possibility of running a Stirling engine on concentrated solar power is a real possibility.

Cowardly betrayal

Update 1 of today's post:

The Wikipedia entry may have scrubbed some important details. I've scanned it a bit. Robert Novak wrote the piece that supposedly generated all the hullabaloo. Novak said who his source was no partisan gunslingers, as the "investigators" knew who was responsible for the leak all along. I don't see Novak's side of the story in the Wikipedia.

There may have been two officials who leaked. One mentioned on a separate Wikipedia article was Richard Armitrage. It is my recollection that the other was probably the one who talked to Novak--- that would be someone named Negroponte.

This was known prior to the naming of a Special Prosecutor. There was no need for any investigation. It was written that the leak did no harm to Plame nor national security. But it did get Scooter Libbey jailed and disbarred. It also discredited the Bush Administration. John Ashcroft should have known these details, as Novak's responses were all over the media--- and should have quashed the investigation. But he recused himself instead--a wimp out. I interpret that as weakness. It should be obvious that the Dems learned that they could use similar shady techniques to bring down their political enemies.

It is weakness because innocent people get harmed. It is weak because the justice system gets tarnished. It is weak because it is an abuse of power. But Krispy Kreme and his ilk like to virtue signal how Polly Pure they are, when they are really a bunch of door mats for a weaponized and politicized DOJ.

end update 1:

12/08/23: Update for the posted entry of 4/5/19:

In the most recent debate for GOP nomination for Prez, Krispy Kreme said that he would nominate someone like Ashcroft for Attorney General. Now, let's go back to the Scooter Libbey case, and we'll see WHY this should be a big RED FLAG against Kripsy Kreme.

For the record here, Scooter Libbey was innocent of revealing Valerie Plame's identity. He was prosecuted unjustly for a crime for it was well known WHO DID, and that person was never prosecuted. The real purpose of the prosecution was to discredit the Bush Administration, which succeeded because Libbey was convicted of a process crime.

This has been explained plenty of times before. You have to be an idiot if you cannot see the problem with this. But it continues to this very day with Trump. But Krispy Kreme wants another AG just like the guy who got rolled, so that they could get some way to discredit Bush.

Also, for the record, you are STUPID if you help your enemies defeat you. Krispy Kreme isn't serious. If he believes what he says, he is at best, a useful idiot for the left.

To back up what I just wrote, I include an embed at the point in which Krispy Kreme says he would appoint another Ashcroft who permitted the prosecution of Scooter Libbey, and set the precedent for what has been happening to Trump, and what would definitely happen to any Republican who opposed the commie left. Watch this carefully and think.

4.5.19:

Over at the Last Refuge, the proposition is being laid out that the perps knew that there was no collusion case, and were pursuing a Scooter Libbey type obstruction case.

Yep, and I predicted that on Day One.

Yet, today, I am not feeling anything about it all.  At the time, you can see that I was quite upset.

There's nothing to be angry about anymore.  At least, not for me.  Perhaps this is all a revelation today for some, and their reaction is late.

Mueller should have been fired on Day One.  I must have written it a hundred times.   Maybe my view will be eventually upheld.  Ironic that the impetus for this could come from the Democrats themselves.  I am sure that the more information comes out, the worse it will be for them.  In fact, they may know this already.   For them, saving their own skins is their prime concern.  They can go about in their pretentious concern about transparency, but I would wager that a dollar to a donut that this bozos are praying real hard that the report stays as secret as possible.

5.17.17:

These rotten cowardly scum named a special counsel for a crime that does not exist.

Un-freaking-believable.

I guess this really is a coup.

There is absolutely no reason for this.  NONE.

20:06

Rosenstein appointed the rotten f**k.  I don't care who the guy is, to take this job is a travesty.  To appoint this guy is a travesty.

Don't tell me that Pence will be better. NO. F******G WAY.

The GOP and their supporters are just plain old chickenpoop.  No other word for it.

This is how they got Ashcroft out of the way to pave the way for Comey to name Fitzgerald.  Fitzgerald got Scooter Libbey convicted of a process crime.  Now Comey won't recommend prosecution for Hillary, but he sure will go after Trump.  BULLSH!T.

Trump is going to get convicted of a process crime most likely.  What a bunch of bravo sierra.

Sessions is chickenpoop, too.  Ashcroft is chickenpoop.  All of them are chickenpoop as far as I am concerned.

Trump?????

Again.  Does this guy want to be President?

Maybe we were conned last year.

21:12

Mueller may look good on paper, but the circumstances surrounding this, and the virulence of the opposition , plus the indifference towards justice leads me to believe that justice will definitely not be served.

I am not at all assured.  This is a disastrous decision.  Nothing  good is likely to come from it.

03:10  May 18:

Rosenstein appoints Mueller.  But Rosenstein was the one who recommended Comey's firing.

How does Rosenstein have any credibility here?

Ramaswamy "goes nuclear"

Nobody seems to care about the truth. Going nuclear means telling the truth, or so it seems.

Okay, then let's drop 25 megaton truth bombs until all the deceit is wiped out.

Krispy Kreme was accused of lying by those commenting upon the video. It wouldn't be a surprise to me if there was a ton of that in this debate. They make themselves sound completely different from what they really are. Those who point it out aren't "very nice". That's an evasion. Dealing with the issues head-on is the only way it can be acceptable. Saying that something isn't very nice isn't denying the truth of the matter. Think about it.

Some observations and some thoughts

of the passing scene...

1. Nikki Haley DID say that she'd go to war over Crimea ( one of Ukraine's territorial claims). I'd have to review Ramaswamy's question again, but if memory serves, he asked what provinces that she was willing to FIGHT over. If she named Crimea, that's a BIG MISTAKE. Why? Possession is 9/10ths of ownership. Russia has important military bases in Crimea. Very important. So, if Nikki Haley is willing to put boots on the ground to free Crimea from Russia, then that means war with Russia. Pretty sure she'd back off of that one if she was confronted with it. But she probably wasn't asked, and even if she was, she also made a statement in that debate that she wouldn't respond anymore to Ramaswamy. She stepped into the doo-doo there, I'm sure.

2. With respect to the Islamic Jihad on Israel, if Biden and his ilk cared anything about international law, he would point out that the taking of civilian noncombatants cannot be in keeping with international law. Indeed, it is a war crime. If the government of Gaza supported it, then they too are guilty of war crimes. Indeed, this is worse than 9-11-2001, because there was no direct state involvement the 9-11 attacks, but there was here. That's why this is taking an ominous turn. The jihadist feel strong enough to attack directly on a state level. In the meantime, Biden props up Iran and the terrorists, and allows them free rein in the USA. Not only that, the Biden administration has made terrorists and their sympathizers a protected class.

Does it make much sense to negotiate with terrorists? This administration is not only doing that, but aiding and abetting it.

3. As for the GOP debate itself, although it is an improvement over allowing commies control over it, it cannot be said that it was in itself sufficient to make the entire thing worthwhile. The questioning was uninspired. If it were, some of these issues would have been discussed in more depth. If that were the case, the fact that Nikki Haley is defintely out of her depth, would have been much more obvious.

Update a little bit later...

Yes, he did mention fighting over Ukraine, and she did later say "Crimea". Listen carefully. The part about Haley mentioning Crimea was not in this video, but probably later in the debate. Note: I definitely heard her say Crimea.

Nikki Haley had a bad night

Daily update (2):

I watched about 40 minutes of it. It seemed clear that she wasn't going to answer the question, nor was Christie. She did say Crimea, and maybe a couple other provinces. But she didn't do it so clearly so that it could be heard. All I heard was Crimea. Crimea was taken by Russia in 2014. The current USA involvement with military assistance didn't not happen then, but is happening eight years after that---Crimea shouldn't count. Maybe she really doesn't know. Maybe Christie really doesn't know either.

end update(2):

Daily update (1):

Chris Christie had a good night?

Here's a basic problem with the GOP right now. You've got Christie ripping Ramaswamy for "insulting" Nikki Haley's intelligence. At the link pointed above, some dude on Powerline seems to think that was a good line, plus a whole segment where Christie insults the MAGA wing.

Sorry, but Ramaswamy's question, about regions in Ukraine, is a fair question. Now I am curious as to whether or not she actually answered it. Christie's trying to link Ramaswamy to MAGA, by the way. While he's doing that, he's insulting MAGA Republicans. All the while, the MAGA Republicans are the majority of the party. This dude is evading the question. If she cannot answer the question, doesn't that make Ramaswamy's point? If she didn't, then isn't this just a Democrat like diversion? Let's all make it about personalities while claiming Donald Trump is a cult of personality.

It's all about dividing the party because they really do not want to win.

end update(1):

True, there was audible booing for Ramaswamy, but I think he made some valid points.

I don't know about the guy, but I don't know about any of them. For them to run against Trump is like someone who is in receipt of stolen goods. They stand to gain from the Democrat attempt to destroy Trump. To me, as long as the Democrats do that kind of thing, those who participate in these debates are being in support of destroying Trump.

None of the Democrats' accusations have any merit. The GOP should unite and quash it. They don't do that when they run against Trump. Besides, they seem to be running against each other. The winner of this cannot unite the party. They are already dividing the party even amongst themselves.

Stupidity with a purpose

Woke life in the 21st Century ( Instapundit link)

Don't know exactly why. This thread didn't seem interesting until I started reading through the comments. It is then that I found this gem (below):

CIA manual on sabotage through "purposeful stupidity"

Does this mean that they really aren't as stupid as they look? It takes at least some intelligence to know what is stupid, and then to act that way. But some people do it naturally. When I saw that link, I went over to it, and I got this reaction that Charlie Brown had in a conversation with Lucy:

This is what Biden is protecting

There was a vote today in Congress. Nearly all Republicans voted for the condemnation of anti-Semitism. Less than half of Democrats did. There were 13 or so Democrats who voted FOR anti-Semitism.

Therefore, the following tweet should not be any big surprise. Islamic Jihad allows anything to be done to non-believers. The claim the right to do so.

So the GOP should go much further, and push this for all its worth. The Democrats are protesting this as a political effort to gain points. Well, getting points is what it is about. It is the way we have to ensure accountability. The Democrats want to avoid accountability, and complain when they are being held accountable.

Not only that, they are gaslighting the public. Their claim is that if you don't accept their outrages, then something is wrong with YOU. For example, you are called an Islamophobe.

A phobia is an irrational fear. If it is irrational not to want to be raped or murdered, then one would have to wonder what IS rational. Clearly, Islamists think this kind of behavior is not only acceptable, but their right.

There should no quarter given to this kind of thinking. It is no different from Adolf Hitler's Third Reich. Indeed, it it quite rational to FEAR that this could become normal in the USA. No way that this should happen here. We should care about what happens in Israel because of what happened on 9-11-2001 in THIS country. Those people think ANYBODY is fair game. That also means all of us, including Americans. Very much so.

This 9-11 video has to be included here. People need to be reminded of this. It happened here.

False equivalences again

Clearly, Sen. Chucky Schemer would rather have Putin run through Europe, as he claims, than to secure the US border.

Chucky ain't the Gipper, the comparison is not apt.

Rob Braxman: "Incredible dangers in Browsers ( all of them)"

His videos are worth watching. I learn something new with each one that I watch. You've got to manage these techie things very diligently. They slip a lot by you, if you aren't watching. I guess the point is that even if you are watching, they'll still slip stuff by you.

The Angry Astronaut: "New 2033 NASA Mars Mission!! Powered by SpaceX and nuclear propulsion!!"

He's critical of Elon Musk's plans for getting to Mars. He likes the following mission architecture for the mission. Ironically, Starship would do the launches to set the thing up. The difference would entail the contruction of the architecture while still in Low Earth Orbit.

It's a fine plan, but it isn't for settling Mars. It is for exploring Mars.

He makes an assertion about the Sun's nasty tendency to spew radiation out into interplanetary space. This assertion was challenged in the comment section.

In any event, it is my opinion that SpaceX could use its rockets to build something that could traverse the distance more safely than the thing he's building now, while also completing his goal of settling Mars. The necessity would be for another spacecraft that would do that job. He should consider hypergolics, as they'd never boil off. Hypergolics have that virtue, as well as the virtue of simplicity. It would be relatively easy to make. He already has the SuperDraco engine, which uses hypergolics as fuel.

Great talk

This is an hour long video, but well worth the time.

Maybe it can get somebody to think about things that they are not thinking now.

Most folks would prefer positive things. There may be exceptions to that, but most folks want positive things because nobody likes to suffer. Who needs that? Of course folks don't like to suffer. Anyway, here's the vid.

Biden prefers terrorists to Israel

12/05/23: Update to yesterday's post:

White House now sounds just like Hamas in Gaza

The administration is trying to straddle both sides in this conflict, and it cannot be done. There cannot be compromise with evil.

That is true because to compromise with evil eventually brings a capitulation with evil. The Democrats need to drop Hamas or Israel. They know that, but they cannot be open about their sympathy with terrorists. Hence the empty words of support for Israel, and the real support for Hamas.

There should be ZERO tolerance to terrorism practiced on our own soil. These politicians won't even defend themselves, much less the people of this country. That's why 9-11-2001 happened. It was over 20 years ago, but it is just as true now as then. The only difference is in scope, but the intentions are the same. The intention is the total subjugation of the American people. This administration, in enabling terrorism even against their own selves, are by definition not defending the people of the United States. In so doing, they are unduly influenced by the terrorist tactics, and will eventually capitulate to their demands.

A degenerate like Biden and his ilk are not fit for leadership.

end update

Daily Update 1:

As long as the moral degenerate in the White House is blaming the innocent people for what the terrorists did, then this is what you'll get. Moral degeneracy begets more moral degeneracy.

end daily update 1

12/04/23: Update to yesterday's post:

Moral equivalences are also false moral equivalences. The political left is getting hurt by the false moral equivalences being made, but cannot label them properly as false.

This is how you get turned into a moral degenerate. Start making enough of those false moral equivalences, and you become totally amoral. That's what a lot of Democrats are allowing themselves to become. They have to keep themselves united, but by uniting with moral degenerates like these, you run the risk of becoming morally degenerate yourself.

The so-called moderates on the Democrat side are well down that road. That party, as well as with the general public, are in danger of that. Time to draw a line in the sand and say no more of this. Will they? I wouldn't bet the farm on it.

end update

Update:

The Congressman claims to be a moderate. No, he's got to please everybody, and that cannot be done. He has to make a choice between right and wrong, and he cannot do it without angering somebody. But he ends up angering everybody.

He should condemn Hamas for their terrorism, and demand that terrorist sympathizers who vandalized his home be punished. Not only those, but all terrorist sympathizers should be under tight surveillance, and the idea that Americans are to blame should be condemned as well. He should demand that Biden revoke the terrorist protection policies that the administration recently adopted.

end update:

Well, it's not exactly what the tweet says. But it needs to be harder hitting. Unless you hit them hard enough for them to back off, they'll keep coming. If you don't, the won't stop coming. So hit them harder and harder still until you make them back off.

Everything that Biden and his ilk says is a lie. They care nothing about anybody but themselves. So their claim to care about civilian casualties is bull. They are worried about losing the terrorist sympathizer vote. That's because their polls are really weak. Trusting or believing the Bidens and their ilk is just plain stupid and weak.

I didn't pull that out of my butt. There were some sympathizers who threaten to vote GOP if the Bidens didn't comply with their demands. So it isn't made up. The Biden admin is in a bind. They'll do anything for support, and if they have to abandon Israel, who is not in the wrong here, they will. That should tell you everything you need to know about these people. But you never know. Never underestimate the power of stupid.

note: about that sympathizer vote for GOP---the GOP should discourage any such thing. The GOP should definitely not want their vote, and should say so emphatically and very loudly. Failure to do so gives Biden cover.

Youth vote is not going GOP's way

That according to a poll I saw this morning. But GOP friendly media says otherwise. Who's right?

The obvious question is why wouldn't the poll be right? The youth vote represents the future. What does each of the major parties offer the youth? Nothing. However, the Dems "offer" something for the youth to believe in. What does the GOP offer? I'm at a loss to understand what that is.

But it doesn't have to be that way. The GOP drives people away. These very people that they drive away are the very seeds of victory, or defeat. As far as I can tell, the GOP is hell bent on losing. But they are always like that.

It is a shame, because all the Dems offer is a bleak future. It would be the easiest thing in the world to turn this around, but the GOP won't do even the smallest things.

What is a SEER Rating? [How to calculate your SEER rating and how to use your SEER Rating]

A question came up today, which I didn't know the answer. To calculate wattage from the SEER rating. Divide BTU by SEER rating to get wattage. For example: 12k BTU divided by 20 SEER rating gives 600 watts. Easy peasy.

Another busy day ahead

Update to the 12/2/23 post:

Ditto for today, 12/4/23.

end update:

Writing a blog can be time-consuming. There are other things to be done, and there are so many hours in a day.

So I might be out and about a bit today doing stuff besides this blog.

The morning has already been busy. Started off with a nice breakfast. I made pancakes. These aren't ordinary pancakes. But making pancakes is a messy business, and then there's clean up later. So I've done all that, and I must have spent a good part of an hour doing it all. By the way, the pancakes were good.

While I chomping down on breakfast, I noted that Focus Fusion is still raising money. Although they raised a chunk or two of dough, they need to raise more for their goals. I'd like to bitch about this, not at Focus Fusion, but at the lack of response from the public on this. I guess everybody would rather fight with each other. I won't bitch, but just shake my head. You really cannot underestimate the power of stupid. It's stupid to not fund this thing. I know it's not a good idea to get negative, but man. Wtf, people, wtf. But I won't bitch too much. Tis the season to be merry, ya know?

Out and about yesterday, I noted how many deer are around here. Yesterday, I saw a half dozen of them grazing on somebody's lawn. Wow. Another one as road kill when I was driving home.

Maybe later this month, I'll be making a trip out West. Maybe. I wonder about the deer population out there. Those deer are bigger than these.

Opportunities abound, but people would rather fight. Like a lot of things too, it's a shame. What can you say?

Every day is a new day, as the song says.

Ron DeSantis Shares Incredible Story of Woman Who Survived Abortion

Update: 12/3/23:

Looks like spin control

The Democrats took their lumps and it shows. I can tell it in the way it is written up. An argument against the truth being told is not a denial that it is the truth.

end update:

Don't want to upstage the story in the title, but DeSantis really had a good night last night. One caveat though. It has to matter, or it won't make any difference. Which means, for it this to have mattered any, there has to be a majority of decent people left in this country. There might not be, you know.

A Cosmic Countdown: Somewhat critical perspective on Starship

Something of a surprise, too. There are things in this video worth considering. However, I don't think that the video is advocating an end to the development of Starship. Nor should it. The motivation for it is what needs to be considered.

Fair enough? No other comment at the moment.
