fusion driven rocket concept

Comment:

I'd like to treat this as a serious idea. It may well be feasible, but it involves the government, which can screw up a free lunch. They've got technology that is over 50 years old, and they cannot get it off the ground in a reasonable amount of time and on a reasonable budget. I'm referring to the SLS. This is groundbreaking new tech, and I'd hate to think how they screw that up.

But I'm getting ahead of myself a bit. That fact is, a study done here by the government is going to have to be implemented by the government. There isn't anybody in the private sector that is going to be willing to undertake this venture, and that includes Elon Musk. He's got his chemical rockets, and they may be good enough to get to Mars. Why would he fool with this fusion thing? That leaves old Uncle Sam to do it, and I wouldn't count on them being able to walk and chew gum at the same time these days.

Nice dream you've got there, for that's all it will ever be. That is, until we get a government that actually works and can get results. Those days are over. Oh, by the way, we had a nuclear FISSION concept that was proven in the lab over 50 years ago. Obama gave that away to the Chinese, who are developing it. It is called Molten-salt reactors, and it can't melt down because it is already melted. Oh, and another thing--the NERVA rocket concept was FISSION and that was over 50 years ago too. It was ready to be bolted on to a Saturn V rocket, but noooooooooo.

Anyway, here's the video.

Mail it in.

Now there's an idea. Just treat the "pandemic" the same way that the pinkos treat the "election". They mail a "vaccine" to you, and return your affirmation that you poked yourself. Now that's a real concept worth considering.

For the vote is just as important as the jab. Know what I mean, Vern?

Calling this out as fake

Fake flip-a-rooski

Comment:

The link refers to a post on Instapundit, which describes a lefty who became a righty. The story is in the former lefty's own words.

It may be yours truly that is the only one doing this, but so be it. If I am the only one, I will still denounce it as a fake. It is fake because the left and the right are spitting images of each other. There is no flip-a-rooski there. You ain't flipping if you are the same as before. There's no difference between the two that makes a difference because they are both fake.

Come to think of it, it isn't my own idea. Ronald Reagan said it when he said that it isn't between left and right, but between tyranny and freedom. Hitler said it when he said that former commies made the best nazis. George Wallace said that there wasn't a dime's worth a difference between Republicans and Democrats. Some may argue that those aren't the best examples. Doesn't make any difference to me who says the truth or not. The thing that matters is if it is the truth. The truth is that there's no difference between the left and right and that it is a fake because the two sides don't really believe what they say they believe. The left isn't for the little guy and the right isn't about freedom. They'll both claim that, but they betray it whenever it is convenient for them to do so.

The Democrats love the big guys and the Republicans sell out their supporters all too often. The common denominator is that they're fake. So jumping ship from one to the other is also a fake. There's no flip-a-rooski here. Just more shucking and jiving.

Ay! Caramba!

Is that what Bart Simpson likes to say? Maybe I should stick with the Homer Simpson "d'oh!".

A couple things this fine morning. Maybe more than a couple that I want to comment upon. Number one: Ted Cruz referred to the rioters of a year ago as "terrorists". Well, I guess that places Cruz on my fecal roster again. I have a different opinion of what happened on that day. The truth is not something that we are going to permitted to hear or see. The official fiction is that it was an insurrection. Cruz doesn't seem to be at odds with that, and I think he should be. If we cannot agree that there's something fishy about all the official line, then we are cooked.

Secondly, at Ace of Spades, the guy who does the Morning Report referred to the opposition as being on the "right". As I written many times before, I think this is a very big mistake, unless it is being done deliberately. Deliberately? As in some purpose to divide us yet again? Maybe. People who use that term are also going to have to go on the fecal roster. The fecal roster is getting very long, my friends. Maybe I'm one of the very few who think that the use of this term as a descriptor for oneself is a terribly bad idea. If I reject that term, then I can say that I am in no way sympathetic to fascism, while at the same time, I am vehemently opposed to communism. The left v. right dialectic is one that doesn't favor you if you follow that dialectic, which I most certainly do not. The commies can just call you a fascist or a Nazi, and what can you say to that? It's like taking a gun to your head.

Those two items were the biggies. There may be other things, but memory fails for now. It seems like we are on the edge of catastrophe because too many people either don't get it, or refuse to get it.

It could be like the end of the Roman Empire in the West in ancient times. A recovery from the crisis might have been possible, but for that to happen, whatever good that remained needed to be savvy enough, and numerous enough to overcome the bad. That wasn't the case during that era of Roman history. It might be true of us in this time in this place. I'm thinking of the Emperor Majorian, who got outfoxxed by Ricimer. Majorian could have restored the Empire, but Ricimer was determined to prevent that from happening. So Ricimer had Majorian killed. Since Ricimer was number two, that left the Empire in the lurch. Is this type of history about to be repeated here in this time?

Do we have anybody who can stand up to the bad guys? Or enough of those who are still worth a damn to do it? Maybe not.

Silver alert

Video about regimented North Korean life

Comment:

This video tells a sad story of life in North Korea. Imagine being forced to cry in order to show grief for a fallen leader. If you don't cry, you could be killed for it as if it were a crime. There are watchers, ( like Karens) who will report you if you don't cry.

The question is this: What prevents that nightmare from happening here? It may not be reported widely about, but the Democrats are trying to federalize elections. Obviously they are in panic mode about losing power. They don't have to worry too much, for the GOP doesn't really oppose them. But no communist can ever stand any kind of opposition no matter how timid.

It is rather telling that they would do this. There is no demand for it except from themselves. To rig elections is necessary for a ruling class that no longer serves the people, but requires the people to start worshipping the state and its leaders---just like North Koreans have to do just to stay alive. In principle, what is different about forcing people to cry in mourning to a leader than in forcing you to accept their rule? In the end, we will be forced into doing similar things if the communists here succeed. This is yet another warning to take heed to what is happening in our own country right now.

Thorcon news

Thorcon is developing a manufacturing method of making modular nuclear reactors that can be mass produced in shipyards. It isn't the usual way of doing things, as the usual way is to build very large containment domes. Those require a lot of concrete, as it is a massive structure.

But Thorcon reactors won't need containment domes. It hasn't nothing to do with water. The solid fueled reactors which use water are the ones that need very strong containment facilities. It cannot melt down because it is already melted. The molten-salt actually is self-regulating and won't overheat. If power is lost, the system will drain in a containment tank which will keep it in safe mode until power is restored.

From the video, it almost sounds like these people don't understand those basic facts about the molten-salt reactor. Or they believe that nobody will understand it and so they will be afraid of it. If the fear is too strong, people won't accept it. That's unfortunate.

The trouble is that there has been a lot of fear-mongering about nuclear power, and that is why this technology lags way behind the time that it should have been adopted. The proof of concept was proven in the seventies, nearly 50 years ago.

The fear mongering has to stop. It is costing too much to make these kinds of false choices. This video doesn't include some of what I just wrote, as it is my opinion. The video follows below:

About Lying

There was something on Ace of Spades HQ about some folks on CNN discussing the dishonesty in media. It was somehow connected to Brian Stelter, and of course, it drew some crticism at Ace.

Now I've heard a few things about Stelter, but since I don't watch TV, I don't know if I could honestly say that he's a liar. Generally speaking, though, after watching the media for years, I'd say on the whole that the media is dishonest.

It is a bit laughable for these people to claim to be objective and honest. If that claim is going to be made, then that alone is dishonest.

Anybody can have an opinion. You could go on TV all day long expressing your opinion, and I wouldn't care. But call it objective news is just plain dishonest. To turn around and claim that it isn't dishonest is just plain laughable.

You probably wouldn't get a peep from the conservative side if these people would just be honest about their opinions. It would be a good bet that 90% of those in media vote for Democrats. Ask them about it, and they'll hem and haw and say it is none of your business.

If people knew where you were coming from they might not be swayed as much as someone who claims that their reporting is straight down the line objective. There is the gullibility factor, and a factor that involves laziness. There are plenty of ways to inform yourself. It just so happens that to go on a place that is always trying to pull the wool over your eyes is not such a good choice to get information. I never watch CNN, but I've watched network news. I don't think they are objective. It seems more likely than not that CNN is no better than network news ( over the air), and might be worse. Stelter could be trying to pull the wool over people's eyes.

Stelter can have his opinions all day long, but his show is called "Reliable Sources". This may not be accurate. Just sayin'.

TV Propaganda

One of the reasons I stopped watching TV. Actually, I'll turn it on from time to time. As much out of curiosity than anything else. Boredom maybe.

This morning it was really cold, and I didn't want my hands getting cold. I turned on the TV instead of the computer, and there it was. Propaganda again. This time they were talking about the Nazis in Amerikkka.

I think if I ever see a Nazi anywhere in this country, I'll take a picture and frame it. It would be a rare sighting. Plenty of other rioters around, though. Those pics make the TeeVee news as mostly peaceful rioters. That is, until they riot in the US Capitol, then they become insurrectionists.

All snark aside, this gives me another opportunity to talk about this leftist dialectic about left v right and the middle. You see, if you protest them at all, you become a Nazi. Maybe they'll put up with you just a little if you are in "the middle". In a pure communist state, like the Soviet Union, they won't put up with any dissent at all. It's getting that way here. You've got to pretend not to be a Nazi and say you're in the middle. Then the commies will say okay, for now at least.

Now in this time, if you want free and honest elections, you are a Nazi. If you don't want any discrimination based upon race, you are a Nazi. It's okay to discriminate against the white folks, because they really aren't people whose rights that they feel that they must respect.

For writing stuff like this, I am sure I am on a list somewhere. There IS an FIB surveillance van around here, ya know. Maybe they are looking for where the next insurrection is coming from. Maybe I got 'em all hiding out in this trailer.
