What's with FedEx?

FedEx keeps screwing up their deliveries here. There's a box out on the lawn that isn't the correct address. What's more, a delivery TO this address was misdelivered on the same day.

It has nothing to do with me. I didn't order anything. It was Wishbone's stuff.

It could be a switcheroo mistake. Maybe the person who got Wishbone's stuff was expecting what was delivered over here.

Wishbone calls FedEx or whoever used FedEx. Evidently this has happened a few times previously. In other words, it is the same kind of problem over and over again.

So I write this with the question. Has anybody had trouble with FedEx lately? The post office does better than these guys. Sheesh.

Tom Hanks' character (Chuck Noland) in the movie Castaway worked for FedEx. Evidently, that was a different time. This scene shows the pride in a job well done. Whatever happened to that??????????????????????????

The high cost of living didn't begin with Trump

Dinesh D'Souza notes the loss of buying power of the US dollar after all these years of Big Government spending sprees.

I can certainly relate to what he writes. You could fill up the tank of your VW beetle and drive a couple of hundred miles with just a couple bucks.

Gas was about 20 cents a gallon during the sixties.

Big Government won't make you rich. More likely it will likely make you poor, and the same for just about everybody else. Democrats love Big Government. It is their God. They worship at the altar of governmental power. That's not what the Founders intended.

Truth Social's embeds don't always work. Not clear to me why, and under what conditions that it doesn't. In such a case, here's a link to the embedded post on Truth.

Could you imagine Trump in Hollywood??? lol

May have something in common.

All the experts hated them.  But the public liked them.  Let's see if the experts are right that Trump can't win.

We've had a lot told to us by the experts, but not all of the time is it right.

AGW headache # 122

There's so many of these AGW discussions that I've lost track of the count. AGW is bunk. Debunking the bunk is the headache. But we'll power through the nonsense once again.

The idea for this post came from perusing the weather forecasts. Imagine that! Well, I have this land out in West Texas, and I wanted to check the weather out there. That's when I noticed something.

It was the spread between the forecasted high and low temperatures. Out in the desert, the spread is typically pretty high. Maybe 30 degrees Farenheit.

Since I domiciled in H-town for so many years, this seemed like a lot. Even more to the point, the spread on Galveston Island was typically much smaller.

Is this the typical thing? Yes, I do believe so. I checked many weather forecasts around the nation. It does indeed appear to be the case.

What causes this?

It is most likely the influence of the ocean. Water absorbs energy. The land reflects it back into the atmosphere. Hence, temperatures rise fast during the day, and fall fast into the night where the ocean's influence is the least.

Of course this is true. I noted this when I was a kid. I loved to go swimming when I was a kid. The water felt cold in the morning, but was warm well after sundown in the evening. It was like swimming in soup in the early evening. It takes most of the night for the water to lose its heat.

The significance of this observation:

Water has much more influence over the temperature cycles than carbon dioxide. Where there is much water, there is much more stable temperatures. Where there's absence of water there are wide fluctuations.

In other words, it is the water, not the carbon dioxide. AGW theory posits the contrary. Obviously, AGW theory is bunk.

Crowd at soccer match sings along with Bob Denver song

No soccer fan here. But it is remarkable to me that so many people sang along with the Bob Denver song about West Virgina.

But it was in West Virgina, so maybe that explains it.

It's from that big event going on right now that doesn't interest me much. But this sing-along did.

Cain's Convincing Fla. Straw Poll Win

Herman Cain won the Florida straw poll tonight, winning the votes of 37% of those who participated. No other candidate came within 20 points of Cain
Cain seems to do a good job expressing himself, as Perry seems to stumble at times.

Dec 24, 2016:

My goodness! This was on Christmas Eve, 2016. At that time, I was in a lot of pain. Wishbone drove me over to relatives for a Christmas visit with relations. I had to lie down the whole way. I wasn't feeling particular great at the time. Much better now!

But doing things out at the property is a horse of a different color, you might say. I feel much better, but not that much better. We'll see if something can be done about feeling better. I am losing weight from a diet, and on an exercise program to boot. Don't count me out yet.

Things could take an upswing again, and a return to this idea is not out of the question entirely. It will go away when I do. Or if I sell the property.

6/19/26:

Returning to the original post:

Another post in the water sub series in the main off the grid series of posts.

An experiment with straws and coffee filters may have yielded a good way to filter water.  Good for my purposes, that is.

I took some rather dirty water and managed to get it much cleaner.  Still not clean enough for the distiller, though.

The water I used was even dirtier prior to this treatment.   I used a bottle of dishwater that had been sitting around for awhile.  Heavier particles had sunk to the bottom, lighter materials settled on the top.  I rigged up a straw with suction squeeze ball thingy to take the cleaner water in the middle.

The straws were then stuffed with the coffee filter paper.  It is rather slow to filter, though.  I suppose I can make a lot of straws to speed up the filtering.

Perhaps a combination of paper and activated charcoal in the straw could yield even better water.

Bzzz. Buzzzzy as a bee.

Posting is lite, I know.

So much stuff to do, and so little time. On occassions like this, a bit more organization is to be desired. If it is desired, then it must be pursued. Once it is pursued, then what?

Don't want to be like the Joker, chasing my tail.   Have plans can be a good thing.  Not into doing bad things.   Know what I mean, Vern?

AI madness

The prices for memory have indeed gone up.

What they're doing these days boggles the mind.

Anyway, Beato talks about the high price of memory because it needs memory to do his videos. The prices have skyrocketed.

Why this craze over AI? Insanity is becoming the new norm.

If that doesn't bake your bagels, get a load of this video from Tim Pool.

Pool notes that AI companies don't make money. But Elon Musk is a trillionaire! Nuts.

These folks don't know what they're doing.

Iran US MOU

8 AM:

There's a lot of loose talk about what's in the agreement.

Too much talking, and not enough specifics. Nobody really knows what's going on until the official document is released. It hasn't been, and as for the rest of the talk, it may as well be bravo sierra. This includes Trump. But Trump decides what he's going to do next, or so he says.

It is clear that somebody is lying. If Trump is guilty of this, it's going to be very damaging to him, and I'd be very, very surprised if he thought he could get away with it, if such were the case. But it is all speculation until the actual agreement is produced. Let Trump's critics and the Iranian flap their gums all they want. They won't get to crow unless Iran is definitely coming out of this better off than before, and it is in writing, as they claim. So far, it is nothing but talk.

Not convinced that it's Trump lying. Heck, it may be both. Yet there is virtually no reason whatever for Trump to lie about the terms of the MOU. If he agreed to anything that rewards Iranian aggression, it would be very disappointing and disturbing.

Update 8 PM: :

The MOU has been signed. The agreement has still not be published. Senators say that they want to look over the deal. There's a lot of room for mischief here.

It looks political. Trump buys time for the midterms. Prices will be lower at the pump. Indeed, 2027 is projected to have gluts. Near term however, supplies will be tight.

If Iran reneges on the deal, Trump has cause to punish them. Of course there will be protests from the usual suspects.

Democrats are dying to do another Vietnam and Afghanistan. They would love to blame Trump for their own treachery. You can add the part of the GOP that opposes Trump to that company.

Anyway, the deal is shaky. It may not hold up.

Did Trump lie? If he did, it is not clear yet that he did. Even if he did, he is no worse than the Democrats. But if he really did, then it will hurt. You can be sure that the commies will do everthing they can to inflict the most damage that they can.

Senator John Cornyn Publicly Says He's Blackmailing President Trump to Gain Access to Trump Family Tax Records

Summary:

This basic idea discussed: It's a uniparty. No real difference between the two parties. Two wings of the same bird, says Sundance.

Comment:

Sigh... Back to the right v left Marxist paradigm. As D'Souza said: the only difference between commies and Nazis is that the Nazis are nationalistic and the commies are internationalists. That's it. Otherwise they are for all intents and purposes, the same damned thing. This is why Cornball had to go. The only way to get them out is to keep voting them out every single time that you can.

Most recent LP Fusion Report

6/16/26:

It may be wise to keep up with what they're doing here at the lab. If there's an experiment that succeeds in getting net energy, that would be massive news.

Nothing like that has happened yet, to my knowledge with respect to this company. Disclosre: I own a share of their stock. Yeah, I know. Embarrassing to disclose that all I can afford is one share. It may have split into two shares by this time. Hey, it's growth! What can I say?

6/11/26:

It seems that the folks over there believe that they are close to proof of concept. Plus, they want to get government funding in order to build their machines.

Their chief scientist is no Elon Musk. He doesn't have the genius for the business end.

Shucks, if it works, one would think the world would beat a pathway to his door. The world is a cold, cruel place. It may not work that way, after all. It may not work (the business end) in any case. We'll see.

Usually, I vet these videos, but I am allowing Sundance at CTH to do that. He recommends it,and I watched a little. I've heard of this guy, but I am not that familiar with him.

Legal Insurrection: "Pratt concedes"

...but he isn't going away.

Summary: A brief history of the vote "counting" and a few quotes from Pratt about his intentions going forward.

Comment:

Does anyone remember Sarah Palin? She seemed to be good, but she faded fast. The problem with Palin is that she left the impression that they got to her, and that made her look weak. Weakness doesn't work in politics. She basically ruined her chances for the future when she did that---which was to resign her governor's office after the Democrats' continual efforts to destroy her.

There could be a list made of failed politicians on the GOP side who have followed a similar pattern. If Pratt has any future plans, he'd better follow up on his intentions. He also will need to be "for real", and be able to pull it off. That's because the left will go after him for being a threat to them.

Bank runs and stock sell offs -- both can be generated by irrational fear

Who most likely resembles the villain named Potter, and the hero named Bailey, in this movie? The left probably regards themselves as the George Bailey types, with the GOP as the Potter type. Is that not what the Dems always want you to believe?

The bank run scene in this movie illustrates what can happen when everybody tries to get their money at the same time. It breaks a bank. This is true FOR ANY BANK, no matter how well it is run. The fact of the matter is that only a small fraction of the depositor's money is kept at the bank at any one time. When everybody goes to get their money, the bank cannot pay. It is assumed that the bank has gone insolvent, but that is not necessarily so.

All it takes is some manipulative a-hole who plants a rumor of insolvency, and people panic, and this kind of scene results.

But why mention this? Because the stock market is the same way as the banks in this sense. If everybody tries to sell a stock at the same time, the market price will zoom downward in a death spiral.

Elon Musk can never see his money stacked up as a trillion dollars. The wealth is paper wealth.

But the left is stirring up hatred of Musk for being a "trillionaire". They are acting like Potter. Stirring up resentments over Musk's alleged misdeeds, and then trying to cause a stock selloff so that they can ruin him.

The modern left is more like Potter than Bailey. They are the bad guys. But what about the Republicans? They are gutless. That's the GOP's problem. They have no guts.

If the GOP would grow a spine, the left couldn't do as much damage as it does. If the GOP aren't cowards, then they're STUPID. Either way, they'd better get the sheet together main, or the left will wipe them out.

The question for the average guy is what can you do?

Think for yourselves, and you're halfway there.

But it is a vain hope. People will go to any length in order not to think for themselves. If they did that, they couldn't be so easily manipulated. It isn't just bank runs and stock sell offs. It could be for a myriad of situations where fear can be weaponized into self destructive panics. COVID madness is another example.

I can show this, and reason it out for you, but will you still not get it? Wealth taxes, punitive attitudes toward success will not better anyone's life. Quite likely the opposite.

Another example of the maxim : "Never underestimate the power of stupid."

All of these are Republicans. Do they have any idea of what they are doing?

Marxist-Islamist group that Obama rehabilitated in 2012.

Do any of those people realize what that means? Good God.

President Trump Announces Iran Deal is Complete - Strait of Hormuz Open for Transit

The Conservative Treehouse

The amount of anti-American spin out there is off the charts.

CTH is Trump friendly, which actually means is that you get some resemblance to the truth at that blog. But not necessarily in the comment section.

I'm going to post more about this in the next few days.

I have followed Epic Fury, the ceasefire, and the rest fairly regularly. Trump has had to dodge a lot of crap as usual, and may have delivered a HUGE victory. But it will be spun otherwise. Unless there's something in the details that is particularly bad, it is a big win. The Devil is in the Details.

All you have to do is open you eyes and see

Found on Revolver, and part of the post is embedded below. It confirms IN THE NEWS, that the left is just a bunch of commies. Not that anybody is actually paying attention to that.

Ground News says that this is a "red" blindspot

6/14/26:

After watching D'Souza's 2018 movie, this does change the calculations a bit. If the left recognized the Nazis as an ideology of the left-- then the left is basically lying. They changed their tune for some reason, and started to say it was of an ideology of the right. But it never was, for the reasons I've always said. There's very little difference between Communism and Fascism. If the antifa types are fighting anybody, they're really fighting themselves!

To the extent that almost everybody believes the false premises of the the left's rewritten history of their one-time infatuation with Fascism, they are being duped. But not moi. Not that it matters. Most folks will continue being duped.

The opposite of communism is not fascism, but the American Way!

Mar 31, 2025

This is not written to dispute it, although I've written many times that the Marxist model is not one you should use if you are a sincere conservative. However, not everyone on the "right" is blind to the significance of this election. You may notice that the political left is definitely not blind to it.

Interpret this how you will. My interpretation is that we are poised on the knife's edge. The difference maker here could be how much people actually care about the truth, and are willing to do something about it.

NOTE:The Ground News embed is stricken because it is no longer allowed. It was at one time, but no more.
